Animals are our family and give us unconditional love and trust....so some, they are children and companions. They can't speak for themselves, so we need to speak for them. protect them and punish anyone who hurts them to the full extent of the law, and that also means prison time!! Maybe there can be education in the schools because children may mimic their family members who abuse these wonderful animals.Jun 28th, 2015Someone from Temecula, CA writes:

Animal abuse, depending on the severity, should be punishable by death. These are innocent creatures that deserve to be cared for or at least left alone, not abused.REPORT COMMENTS

l find it incomprehensible that animal cruelty has gone on this long without extreme consequences such as 10year prison sentence at the least. You cant squeeze blood from a turnip as said. And neither can a fine for abuse be collected from some poor ignorant being who takes their lot in life out on others. No fine, don't pass go. STRAIGHT TO PRISON! Stop debating the issues and DO something to stop it!REPORT COMMENTS

It is a outrageous that cruelty to any animal, domestic, wild, or farm should not be punished with serious jail time. If you harm an animal at any age (child, teenage, adult) you should face a minimum of 5 years in solitary confinement. You should be permenantly branded as an animal abuser. That record should go to school with you, college (if you go) and you should have to pay your own way for everything including spending time in jail. If a corporation does this it should loose any government funding and its highest officals should be jailed. It's time to show respect for God's creatures and do something that shows that life is valuable and that evil cruelty will not be tolerated.REPORT COMMENTS

I think animal cruelty laws should be very strict if only just for the sake of the animals. They cannot help themselves and must be protected from cruel people. It is only right. Try to put yourself in their place and how sad, scared, and hopeless you would feel, not to mention the pain, at the hands of a cruel person. Animals are not things and if you spend time around them you will see that they are aware and pretty smart beings.REPORT COMMENTS

Its positively horrifying and revulting how some people treat animals and wven worse is how they get away with it or just get a slap on the wrist. Something has to be done, animals deserve to be treated with just as much live and respect as humans if not more for all the sh*t they've been put through. We need better laws to protect our animals.REPORT COMMENTS

Animal abuse really does effect children. I clean houses for my job and at one the nanny is always smacking the dog on the head when he barks. The 2 year old kid started doing it as an observed behavior. His dad noticed and told him to be nice the dog. I really hope his parents influence him stronger than the nanny because it could effect the way he treats animals for rest of his life.REPORT COMMENTS

I wish there was a huge database what kept track of animal abusers and their history and animal adoption agencies could access them and check on potential adopters so they know that an animal isn't going to a known abuser. hold people accountable damn it! put them in jail instead of a slap on the wrist!!!REPORT COMMENTS
