Too many families have been torn from their family dogs because someone "thought" they were a pit bull. First, there is no such thing. Second breed specific laws do not work. They punish the innocent, cost tax payers thousands, kill innocent dogs and resolve nothing. German Shepherds were once considered vicious and laws required they be confiscated and killed. Don't let this prejudice happen again.

This is analogous to racial profiling, a practice that most of us find abhorrent. Each animal is an individual. I have met many pit bulls. They have all been very sweet and intelligent dogs. Everyone deserves a goo home. Please end this discriminatory practice. It is passe', and unfair.

It is appalling to think how terrible it is to discriminate against a breed of dog. It is not the dog that is a menace. It is the irresponsible human that trains this type of dog or any other dog for that matter, to be mean and vicious. I hope that you rethink this warped law and just be rid of it.

Not all dogs of any particular breed are bad dogs. That's like saying certain groups of people are bad. When an animal is considered "bad," "dangerous," or any other negative characteristic, that dog had to go through tremendous abuse to get that way. Go after "bad" owners, not the dogs!

It is not the dog or the dog breed but their irresponsible owners.

Certainly the judicial system has more serious alleged offenses to track than pictures of a family and their rescued non-banned Dog... Breed discrimination is the offense here,

These dogs are NOT bad but the owners who train them this way and it is the owner that should be punished.

BSL does not WORK!!! Hold the owner responsible not the dog. The only dangerous animal in this whole thing is the humans

I volunteer in an animal shelter and also do dog training. It is time to STOP discriminating against a dog based on the way it looks. Please look at all the nationwide organizations who feel BSL should be repealed. The Am Bar Asso, Police associations, Veterinarians, CDC, and many, many more organizations know that BSL does not work and forces families to get rid of their pets.

BSL. We need stricter laws on animal cruelty, back yard breeders and puppy mills. We need stricter laws on spaying and neutering. All pets should be chipped so their owners can be located if the pet gets lost. That would help reduce the population in shelters. MEG...a shelter volunteer and animal lover

I volunteer at an animal shelter and the pit bulls I come across are amazingly friendly. I urge you to stop the breed specific legislation. It is the people that make God's awesome creatures mean, not the breed.
