There are also other ways to control the wild Mustang population (PZP) so that these horses will not need to be round up, captured/injured, held in pens, and also put in the slaughter pipeline. These round ups are inhumane and absolutely an injustice to the history of these endangered animals. Their populations are threatened and should be legally protected. Any of there remaining Mustang herds, in Arizona and the Southwest, should be managed conservatively, so as to protect the future population of these amazing animals, that are an important part of this Nations History. The Salt River Wild Horse Herd is currently being threatened with removal/destruction.
