By not trying to find a better solution to this situation except to remove the horses, I think the message is loud and clear that there is a specific special interest going on...there is really no good reason to remove the horses, except they are on land that ranchers want for themselves...that is just not a good enough reason..please sign and share this..thanksAug 11th, 2015Someone from Valley Center, CA writes:
Yet another example of the continued destruction of our country's wild horse population. More resources, land and protection need to be afforded the horses...not less. The practice of harassment, capture and over management is and has resulted in few remaining viable wild horse populations left in the United States. Congress needs to immediately cease any operations that pose to control populations, including round-up, birth control and land space reductions. A 10 yr. moratorium should be enacted to halt current management practices and a paradigm shift to accurately access the current numbers of horses needs to be employed. The horses will be found to be needing protection under the endangered specie act... hence no population controls which include round ups should ever be used.REPORT COMMENTS

This historic herd is supposed to be protected and preserved as an integral part of the public lands. Americans and global tourists love our wild horses. The loss and removals of our wildlife is out of control.REPORT COMMENTS

responsible governing of public lands would eradicate welfare ranchers and pouting oil interests from public lands and leave the public lands wild including horses big cats, wolves and bears. No hunting of natural predators to keep wildlife in balance naturally. Stop spending money to balance nature and let nature balance itself..... You waste tax payer money supporting special interest in public lands, who pays... Tax payers and wildlife.....REPORT COMMENTS

Zeroing out Colorado's most historic herd (documented since 1700's long before settlers arrived) is unconscionable. Use of public lands needs to be reassessed--energy extraction industries destroy the landscape, and livestock grazing is the primary reason for range degradation on our public lands. Buying out retired livestock leases would be a step in the right direction.REPORT COMMENTS

This is urgent! Please stop the proposed roundups and destruction of our wild horse herds in September 2015. These horses and lands belong to all of us, just not cattle ranchers and oil companies. They are our legacy to our children.REPORT COMMENTS
