do not remove these horses!!! stop this horrible practice of removing these WILD animals that are a part of our history and american culture. this HAS to stop at some point. this is a horrible murderous stressful act for most of these animals. they are intelligent, beautiful and deserve respect. one day in the not too far future there will be NO WILD horses left. like the buffalo, we are destroying these beautiful animals. roundups are horrible. stop this. no more.Aug 11th, 2015Someone from Mathis, TX signed.

I am watching the BLM with horror remove our historic herds of wild horses. Only to be "stored" in holding pens - if they survive the gather- with no shade and at our expense! We are becoming as barbaric as other countries we claim to fight! WHEN will the many voices shouting out at this insane management of our heritage be listened to and the insanity stop! Is there anyone in government with the backbone and guts to DO something!REPORT COMMENTS

It's one thing to manage the horses; it's quite another to manage them to extinction. These iconic symbols of American freedom have roamed the West for hundreds of years; there is no reason to be greedy and cater to cattle ranchers by managing these herds to extinction. One these herd numbers are too low, their genetic viability is threatened. These animals need to be preserved for future generations to enjoy. Helicopter round ups are incredibly cruel and can result in death. If a cattle rancher doesn't have enough land to graze their cattle, then they shouldn't have them. Grazing rights are basically being given away and this needs to stop.REPORT COMMENTS
