Please having the right to entrap people is very wrong and they should get in trouble for it especially posing as minors and trying to convicting innocent people who think they're chatting with minors and in actuality it's adults I think that's the most wrong and disgusting thing anybody could do especially to innocent people who have no idea what's going on. My brother is now sitting in a Texas jail facing 10 years to life in prison for something that he had no clue about that my cousin started chatting with someone on one of these sites and then they can fix my brother of it and a stink which is to me is totally wrong when they know who the real person is that started it and they need to go after that person his name is Timothy Koops. Timothy Coupe started chatting with this person and then this person continue chatting on with my brother and my brother had no clue what was going on and I just think it's wrong for the police to have the right to entrap anybody for anything that is just totally wrong. And now because of something Timothy started my brother is sitting in a Texas jail for it which isn't fair to my brother to me should be sitting right there with him in jail and they haven't bothered to prosecute to me they let him come back here to Michigan

My life was forever changed by one of these stings. I had a conversation with a cop posing as an underage girl for over 2 months. The chat was never overly vulgar even if it did get a little personal at times. I never went to met the person, but nevertheless two detectives showed up at my place of employment one day to interview me. They also had a search warrant and cops were combing through my house while the detectives were talking to me. I was summarily fired from my job, ending a promising career. My computers were confiscated for over a year, after which time they decided I had done nothing wrong and ended the investigation without filing charges. What an utter waste of taxpayer money. This needs to stop!

The solution is to decriminalize consensual prostitution and there is an effort to do just this right now- led by erotic service providers and a client plaintiff in California. Esplerp the erotic service providers legal education and research project has filed a lawsuit in federal court and it is in process right now. See decrimNOW dot com this case has the potential to decriminalize California and if it reaches the Supreme Court has the potential to decriminalize nine states! Full DECRIM is the only way to stop the damaging arrests! Please stand with us and support the effort to stop the madness!!! Between arresting adults engaging in adult based consensual erotic services and cops raping & coercing sex workers (both minors and adults) into sex to avoid arrest (rape) decriminalization can't happen fast enough!! Please visit and subscribe to the sexworkernation YouTube channel for videos on sex worker rights and various cases/laws/issues currently in process. The human rights violations perpetrated upon providers and clients MUST STOP!

I too am a victim of these unethical agent provocateur tactics. I was on an adult website with my own profile/ad up looking for an adult female to role play a school girl (not illegal no matter if you don't like it or not). I was contacted by someone responding to my ad seeking sex, sending me pictures of a beautiful, large breasted 20-something female, who tried hard to comvince me she was 14. I told them more than once that I didn't believe they were who they claimed to be, and believed they had ill intent. I stated clearly that I believed they were possibly a police officer, and said "good people don't steer others in the wrong direction". I ended the conversation telling them to never contact me again, yet two months later I was still arrested on two felony counts of Internet luring of a child, when it was not I who was doing the luring. I never sought that person out, groomed them, coerced or manipulated them in anyway. They came to me seeking sex and it's my fault? I'm guilty of nothing more than a non-violent, victimless thought crime. No one is suffering (nor do I wish any one to) but me, and I'm suffering greatly. My life is consumed by probation restrictions, supervision, surveillance, treatment, polygraphs, etc. all at a very HIGH premium. They're robbing $1,000+ from me every month for all the srevices I'm forced to have now so they can keep my confined, prevent me from traveling, know where I am and what I'm doing at all times. I'm told daily how sick and in need of help I am, that every decision I have ever made in my life was wrong, I can't make good decisions, create meaningful relationships, I have no empathy, etc. They are fanatical lunatics!

I am so sorry to hear about your son. These stings are done to generate money for law enforcement, the courts, and the state. Law enforcement are the ones who do all of the enticing and coercing. I am a victim of one of these stings where I was on an adult site looking for women, I was contacted by someone who represented themselves as 18 years of age and only after communicating for a while did they state they were "15". I told them to leave me alone and not to contact me anymore, well they did not do that and they are the ones who enticed me back into communication, then after I was arrested and received my discovery of the evidence did I realize that law enforcement hid the messages where they contacted me after I told them to leave me alone. I will pray for your son and I hope that our leaders will see just how wrong and unjust these stings are.

The stings are creating crimes out of good law abiding people. My son is looking at 20 to life. He was the one who was stalked persuaded enticed. They are horrible people that do this to good young men. He would be out with friends and get a text from fbi telling him every sexual thing they were going to do to him. They sent him very graphic pictures of a 25 to 30 year old woman( not a picture of a little girl) why a picture of a grown woman and not that if a little girl to see if he liked little girls? Entrapment! Not only my sons life is ruined but me his mother snd the rest of his family. Very very angry.

These stings wrongfully ruin the lives of law-abiding men. These ads are posted in adult dating sites. Men who are on these legal dating sites are not there to seek underaged girls. These stings use taxpayer funds to make police look good in the papers and do absolutely nothing to take real pediphiles away from real children. Put a stop to these stings! Men who have somehow fallen prey to these illegal tactics must be released and pardoned. Find a way to target REAL pediphiles, but do not try to entrap men seeking adult female companionship.

After i was wrongfully arrested during an illegal sting, I have written extensively on this topic after spending countless hours doing research and gathering information. I knew what happened to myself was happening to others and although I eventually prevailed in a court of law that is most unjust in sting related cases, I knew there were many who didn't. It is unfortunate that our country allows innocent men to be wrongfully prosecuted by crooked policing.

First there was the drug war, and now its the war on "Internet predators" People do not understand the scope of these stings, how they are run, who they are funded by, and the effects they have. These stings are being run in every state. They are funded primarily from the Department Of Homeland Security. They involve every state local and federal police agency. FBI, DHS, I've seen reports where DEA was called in to assist. State Police, Sheriffs offices, and in one instance the local fire marshal. The setup is something like in the spring (Spring break, school release See the "pervs" know schools out and are going after kids right?) This is another way to justify these stings. The ads will be placed on adult dating websites, ALWAYS with adult ages (18-40) and possibly with adult pictures, asking for someone to help them get laid. Or for someone to have fun with. Or someone to teach someone about sex. The person then claims to be a "minor" or "guardian of a minor" then work the person answering the ad and entice them to do something illegal. The idea comes from law enforcement. They WANT you to answer to say something illegal and incriminating. They encourage people to bring things as well (Toys or bondage gear etc) to make them look AS BAD as possible. For every person who is registered as a sex offender, the county gets money for the registry. For every one put in jail, the jail gets money to house inmates. The police look great, and reap all the benefits. The police also use civil asset forfeiture laws to take cars money phones computers etc etc. There is not only a monetary gain for these agencies. It is also about power. Every sting that gets run is another instance they can use to regulate internet activity to "Protect your children". Every person they arrest, is on more person who can't own a firearm, or vote. Every person who is arrested and convicted is one more person they can track via registries and databases. If you read any articles on these stings at some point (maybe even in the title of the article) child porn is mentioned. Less than 1 percent of sting arrests result in child porn charges. If you read the statements by law enforcement they almost always use some variation of "Predators come from every walk of life" Disney workers, school teachers, military personnel, fire fighters, librarians, janitors, mechanics, retirees, dockworkers, truck drivers, doctors and yes even police have been arrested. In the mind of police this is protection, but common sense says that it shows a random targeting, with out any due cause. A proper sting in theory should be in reaction to ongoing provable criminal activity. There is no ongoing criminal activity and the police have put the idea in the minds of the people answering these ads to do something illegal. Law enforcement have admitted as much in court. Law enforcement has been proven to have been engaged in targeting military members, as well as used federal military police agencies (Air force

I bet you didn?t know that I am being set up as a child molester. Private investigators posing as sexual buddies hired a minor to go to this adult website and engage me for sex. His profile said 30 and I didn?t think to ask for his ID. We didn?t have sex, but he took a picture of me  or two bent over and then I realized that?s not right and I kicked him out and when he left he ?forgot? his underwear and about 5 minutes after he was gone I heard him talking to my building manager saying I molested him. Now every other day they have hired teen age boys to walk up and down the sidewalk and they tally up if I look out the window and where and for how long and I am certain they are being factual about it. They drop crates and break glass and make noise which will instinctively cause a rubber neck. Do you know what happens to convicted child abusers? They are sent to prison and they are the lowest of the low. They are tortured, ridiculed, shunned, beaten, raped and eventually killed.  Whoever is behind this scheme is so hateful that because I keep odd hours and am gay and have some issues that I need to be humiliated tortured abused and killed. I?m like Jesus. The people in my building hate me so much that they are trying to set me up for a crime that if convicted will be a death penalty. And if I escape conviction then I am humiliated, branded and still held under suspicion. It feels like they want to try to catch me committing a crime I have never committed. Tonight this guy came over. He?s been by around 10 times or so. He says he is from Croatia and he acts so sweet They want me dead for some reason but don?t care to get blood on their own hands so have concocted this elaborate scheme for I own my part but I am not going to ignore theirs how when they remodeled our apartments all they left between my downstairs neighbor and myself is plywood, and a thin industrial carpet with no padding and I don?t know what his ceiling looks like, but mine looks like cottage cheese. That is where the conflict could be resolved, but are they doing it, no. I bought him earplugs, he refused them. His one and only solution is to change me through bullying, whining and intimidation. He acts as if I killed his best friend, but it is because he was awakened by me having sex. Now, I ask you. Do I deserve to die for that? I guess so. We get thrown off buildings and jailed and hated and treated horribly. Our lives are ruined, we are mocked, abused, neglected and ridiculed and nobody wants to help because they don't want to be implicated and who cares about a faggots problems anyway? I always wanted to know why are Jews, Blacks and Gays so hated. I know now.

The first thing that needs to be looked at is the funding. Money is what drives these types of operations. Instead of law enforcement investigating real crimes they are simply manufacturing crimes to justify their jobs. The ICAC provides funding for these operations and then money is generated for the town and counties where these stings take place through arrests, jail time, bail bondsmen, lawyer fees and convictions. These are simply "crime factories" for cops to justify their jobs. They are not protecting society at all. it is all about perception. If the money trail can be exposed then people will begin to see these stings for what they are, which is simply police corruption. Out of the thousand of men arrested in these operations, only a few if any were on the internet looking for children. The police are going on adult websites where you must claim an age of 18 or older and then using a bait and switch only after the cops state how the are mature for their age and have done this before and the cops are the ones who do the soliciting, enticing, and coercing. The United States is a despicable place if it allows this to continue. It is easy to understand why Americans are trying to join ISIS when this kind of corruption is allowed to take place unchecked and monitored.

OMG these are PURE set ups! These men don't go soliciting they get solicited! These are deathly ill sets that go way too far. They instigate sex, they instigate money, the instigate the entire situation, but when the guy responds its a felony then they lie on the news and police reports that you contacted them in search of underage girls. This is like law enforcement basically walking about poking innocent people with the HIV virus.

If we don't fix this legal circus NOW, we never will. They have the power, but it's no match for our numbers, and our conviction. Working from the bottom up will never fix this, petition the President himself.

Online sex stings are a scam. The real predators are the law enforcement officers who bend the rules and sometimes outright break them to make arrests that bring in revenue and "goodies" for their departments.

I am the victim in a Craigslist internet sex sting. The officer in my sting is the true criminal in this There was no mention of age when I answered the ad, he steered the conversation towards sex first and then stated by the way I am 15 yr old girl. I told him to leave me alone and he continued to message me, then after I was arrested he hid those messages in my evidence. I have those messages now, but only after I was forced to take a plea. Truly unconstitutional. My husband is a victim of this kind of internet sting too. It is affecting us in a negative way in some important aspect of our lives - mainly petitioning me to be a permanent resident of the USA since I am from a different country. Because of the registry, my husband is not allowed to technically marry somebody from another country. It is just unfair and it doesn't make sense to me. I am still thinking how can police officers do this? They are the ones who's suppose to be in prison and charged with entrapment. They lie. They go in to a chat room where people are suppose to be 18 years old otherwise you cannot go in to the chat room. So the fact that they lied about their age should invalidate the whole chat conversation at court. A fictitious chat should not be used to accused anybody of anything. I hope this petition gets heard and approved.

The police who use these stings manipulate, entrap, and solicit to trap innocent people who are on adult 18+ websites by baiting and switching their persona to talk dirty talk which is unconstitutional and tricking them into false meetings because of their trained manipulation. They trick the innocent into making a mistake by falling for their trickery just so the police can elevate their numbers so they can get state and federal funding.
