My son is going through the same thing in KY he didn't do anything wrong he went to save kids from being trafficked..he spent 8yrs in the Army 2 tours. HR and the arrest. Well investigator lied to Grand Jury violated State and Federal statue.tore through ICAC with so many violations and case went from state to Federal when they found out investigator would be arrested.. well now it's Federal and allegedly investigator can't be touched.. BTW he's be in jail 16 most and violations to his 1-5-6-8 civil rights. But again state investigator can't be touched... Hmm and Feds won't arrest her because it'll open up approx 40-50 cases.. btw in the conversation nothing was mentioned about doing anything with kids.. it was also a bait and switch

If police are going to create nonexistent or extremely rare situations, like they do: Teens on adult sites volunteering and even pushing free sex on random adult strangers they find adult sites.... They should expect to get uncommon results/responses. Real problems: - This is not taken into consideration (uncommon situations or results for an uncommon situation that was created by them) They treat them all like the child predators they need them to be. -There is nothing put in place to protect vulnerable innocent individuals who are not predators and did not intend to have sex with a minor but were trapped in this rare situation (with clever trickery) -It is very easy for law enforcement, prosecutors, and even defense attorneys to use manipulation and dishonesty to convict someone. It’s real. It happens. -It is very easy for law enforcement and prosecutors to gain public support even when their work is dishonest, ill-intended, and self-serving -It is very easy to lie to the public by playing with their fear to gain support for something -It is extremely difficult for an innocent person to prove their innocence when law enforcement and prosecutors are driven by a need for high numbers of convictions, for self serving purposes (typically it’s all about money, especially when it comes to sex sting operations). They will do whatever it takes to make sure they get the convictions they want. They don’t care about truth. In fact, they work hard to cover up truths. It’s not about protecting anyone at all. You would not believe how bad it is. Because of all this is why sting operations should NOT be allowed. Innocent people are being convicted and sent to prison for the sole purpose of feeding the egos of sick individuals that are working in our system. The government is doing nothing about this. Therefore, sting operations and anything else that makes it this easy for the sick individuals that are working in our system to take advantage, abuse the system, and abuse people should be banned, until the government puts something in place to protect innocent people from this and have set consequences for the sick individuals like this who work in our system and do things like this.

The idea of protecting children is to prevent crimes against children. However the reality is that there are some adults who suffer from what may be called an illness, so do we as Americans try and rehabilitat pedifiles helping them overcome by preventing such crime. Or do we allow law enforcement to taunt individuals who are registered on a list consistently trying to entrap these individuals on adult sites. Law enforcement agencies should be held to the same laws as we the people. When they 100% participate creating crime to prosecute. Where is prevention.

The problem with these sting operations is that we unfortunately have too many narcissists and even actual psychopaths working in our system who are abusing this. Narcissists and psychopaths love to put the focus on the wrong doings of others to keep focus off of themselves and what they are doing. They will even create faults in others to try to make themselves look good and others bad. Even worse, they actually enjoy abusing others. My 22 year old son was caught in one of these evil traps in Midland, TX. I can assure you, there is very clearly evil intent here. They have absolutely no interest in protecting anyone or doing the right things for the right reasons. They are incredibly self absorbed and are only interested in feeding their own egos. I have video evidence of a Texas DPS Officer pretending to be conducting a polygraph. Any normal person who watches this can clearly see that this is a very evil person with very evil intentions. I am convinced he is an actual psychopath. The criminal defense attorneys here cover for police. This video is to be kept hidden from the jurors. We are not allowed to even mention it. In fact, any evidence we have that shows my son is clearly not a predator supposedly is “not allowed in court”. However, the made up story this psychopath created is allowed in court. It’s very clear from the video that this idiot is very likely an actual psychopath and he very clearly created false stories to be used against my son. Anybody who watches this video would have no doubt that this officer created false evidence. The made up story was used to convict my son, and now the clearly corrupt prosecutor intends to use the made up story for the trial. The minor who the made up story was made up about was never even checked on. Her parents were never contacted. I offered to provide them with all of their contact information, but of course they have no interest in that. They don’t care if it’s true or not. They just need the story to convict him (for the numbers) and try to make themselves look like the heros they are not. The officer who pretended to be a minor on Craigslist looking to have sex with an adult (for free and just for fun) was very reckless and irresponsible in conducting the sting operation. He very clearly pretended to be a young teen who was not going to agree to meet up with anybody unless she was convinced there was going to be sex. He brought up sex first, but it went right over my son’s head. Look up the word “ball” as a verb. You can find it in most dictionaries as a vulgar form of saying to have sexual intercourse. This pretend teenager wanted to “ball” on some action. What teenager even talks like that? Most adults would recognize this as a clear attempt to turn the conversation sexual. Yes, it did finally get to sex talk after a good while and after the officer made it very clear that, that was the only way this young teen would come out and not just move on to look for sex with the next adult man she would find on Craigslist. Yes, this is the role this officer played. The young teen was very clearly looking for someone to have sex with on Craigslist. Posing as a young girl looking to have sex with adult men on an adult site is so wrong! Then on top of that, she would not agree to meet in a public place or cared to play video games or anything else that has nothing to do with sex. She was strictly interested in “cuddling” and taking it to the next level. When my naive, vulnerable son, who suffers from poor social skills and other neurological issues finally gave in and told her what she wanted to hear (after all the hints she kept giving), the girl was obviously very happy and finally satisfied. She was very eager to meet him then. Then she made it very clear again that she had no interest in hanging out at a public place like he wanted to do. She made it clear that it was only sex she was interested in. Anything that did not have to do with sex like when my son went back to talking about hanging out in a public place (after the non vulgar talk) she had no interest in or would even upset her. My son is very clearly not a predator. The only girlfriend he’s ever had was an online girlfriend when he was 13. He lacks the confidence and social skills to hit on females in person. This is why he was on an adult site. He was very clearly not looking for a minor. He fell into a trap. He is very naive. He really believed that this girl was just going to move on to meet the next person on Craigslist to have sex with. After all, it was very clear that was what she was looking for. This officer played with his mind and my son fell right into the officer’s evil trap. How can someone who is not even confident enough and lacks the social skills to ask girls out in person be a sexual predator?? He never even asked for a picture of this girl because he didn’t care what she looked like. He had true concern for her because he really believed she was a poor naive girl looking for sex with adult men on Craigslist. The whole point is that these sex sting operations should be banned because we do have some very ill intended people working in our system who are using things like this to abuse others for the sole purpose of feeding their own sick egos. You would not believe all the dishonesty we have dealt with from various people working in this system. The police even stole cash from son. Apparently, it’s a common thing in Midland, TX. There very clearly is a lot of corruption regarding these sex sting operations. At least here in Texas, I know for sure there is. If there is not going to be any accountability put on these reckless and malicious people who are using the system to abuse others in ways like this, then they need to completely ban these sting operations, because it very clearly is a very easy way for the idiots working in our system to use it to abuse others. These idiots are the sick bastards that others need to be protected from.

Oh.. and those of you crying "bait and switch".. are you animals? Because animals in a sexual haze sometimes cant control themselves but HUMAN BEINGS CAN.. once the "switch" happens and they TELL YOU THEY ARE A MINOR... You showing up to meet them is the same as if they told you from the beginning. The fact of the matter is, your husband, son, whatever, STILL showed up to meet someone who TOLD YOU they are a MINOR.. If you want to believe the lies of your loved one that they were just taken for a ride by the cops and it's all a big conspiracy.... then be in the dark if you want. BUT a REAL MAN would NEVER show up to meet someone who is saying "hey by the way, I'm actually way too young for you, I'm a minor" #truestory

Well..I'm SORRY but the fact the girl you were convicted of trying to molest being over age does not resolve you the RESPONSIBILITY to not interact with MINORS on the internet in a sexual way.. What if everyone who got caught molesting kids used the "but her pics made her look older so I didnt believe her when she said she was 13".. I'll tell you..it would be a horrible miscarriage of justice..so in this instance.. the danger of police setting up stings is ABSOLUTELY worth those few who think they dont deserve it. The fact of the matter is, you made a dumb choice and now want to try and change the laws because you got caught. TOO BAD. What would have been SMARTER is if you left the conversation and went to talk to someone who is NOT insisting they are under age. You weren't "entrapped". Entrapment means the police put into your mind an action you wouldnt have taken otherwise. I think it's pretty clear from your own statement the police set up the sting TELLING YOU the person you spoke to was a child. YOU KNEW THE RISKS. Just because it wasnt a little girl, it was a police officer does not make you innocent. The INTENT to have sexual contact with a minor is there if the person you speak to tells you they are a minor and you try to initiate or attend further meetings with the person. So, sorry. I will not support this petition. Guess from now on you should LOOK AT THE AGE of the person before you decide to try and have sex with them And if they say they are a minor and you dont believe them, it means your desperate and are probably speaking to a police officer.

I was convicted of a sexual offense in 2003 and sentenced to 10 years on registry. In 2007, I moved to Florida and moved back to Ohio in 2009. Since then, I have been off Ohio registration for 5 years, but Florida has a lifetime registration requirement, so I am still showing up on theirs. It is almost impossible to find a job that does any sort of background check. Everything comes back good except for public records/sex offender check. Then they start asking questions about why I’m not reporting my address, etc. so then I lose out on an opportunity to help out my family.

Joseph P, I need a copy of that manual. Please email me. Fort pierce - you can't - they bury it. One fact I was able to find is that ICAC is allowed to show pictures (dressed) of police officers who give their consent. They are allowed to send the 'predator' a pic of themselves at the age they were claiming to be on the email exchange. Yet I KNOW in a number of state they send a picture of an undercover police officer who is over 18! WHY? to coerce and confuse innocent law abiding men. The picture sent to my son was of a 24 year old woman, yet he is on jail. In what other states does this occur? I spoke to ICAC in Nevada and they say they are not allowed to send out an adult picture...someone is overreaching here and I plan to find out who, and do my best to stop it.

Can concur. Our lives have been forever changed here in Missouri. My husband was entrapped by the police for responding to a legal ADULT Craigslist ad and interacting with a LEGAL adult. They pulled a bait and switch by leading him to believe he was interacting with an adult before changing the interaction to a minor once they got him to agree to meet for a beer. I am appalled at the conduct of the police in these situations, and these things need to be shut down. My husband lost his job, career, retirement, health insurance, and was smeared across the front pages of every local newspaper in our area, therefore ruining his good, law-abiding reputation beyond all repair. All of this because the police want more federal money to do their jobs and so that elected officials can garner more votes, but it comes at the cost of irreparably ruining INNOCENT lives. I am in full support of ending these types of operations and I would also like to see police subjected to disciplinary action, fines, revocation of their funding, and the payment of punitive damages to the defendant whose life they ruined.

It's all about money, politics and ruining peoples lives. The local police depts go after federal money and have to justify it by arresting someone and getting good press for the politicians and chiefs. The easy pickings for them is to haul in what they claim to be predators stalking our children, great scare tactics. What they don't tell people is to do this they must create, perpetuate and manipulate people into committing the alleged crime that they otherwise would have never thought to commit. I have posted a online ad on craigs looking for a adult for consensual sex, nothing in my ad said or insinuated I was seeking a minor yet on 2 seperate occasions I was trolled by law enforcment acting as a minor. Within a month they arrested 21 guys in a sting using the exact same tactics and bait and switch. Most of the guys thought they were chatting with a adult and just before or on the way to meeting they were told she was a minor. Once arrested they were all put on the news as guilty before they were evan legaly charged, lives ruined, familys broken, lives changed forever. The police and politcians dont care about ruining peoples lives to look good and collect more money and advance their careers. Then the guys are told to plead out to a 3 month sentance or face 10 years in prison. So how is the public safer or better off ?

My son's life and reputation has been ruined by the illegal practices of Florida police officer involved sex stings. Many lonely men seeking adult conversation and relationships are trapped by these stings. Unfortunately the state attorneys, and courts condone and help convict these men. Only 91% get reduced charges or are acquitted. This is a state wide scam organized to bring in millions of federal dollars every year to their state. It is widely known if a man gets picked up for this, they will serve time, have to register as a sex offender, and have a huge financial loss. It is a racket in that state.

My life and that of the man that I love have been destroyed by these so called Law Enforcement Agents. The FBI approached my man in January of 2015 and after repeated refusals to speak to a "woman" online, they turned up the heat. My fiance suffers from multiple personalities and depression and while I was recovering from Stage 3 cancer his depression was out of control and he finally succumbed to their pressure. He loved one particular Adult website and I knew this, it wasn't a problem. At first he just wanted someone to talk to but something changed and that's when they "hooked" him. He's a 51yr old man, he's never been in trouble with the law, not even a parking ticket. Has never had an interest in anyone but females. In December of 2016 the Feds raided our home and he was arrested. He was sentenced to 40yrs for being a sexual predator. He never made it to trial, his attorney convinced him to take the deal so his family wouldn't be put through the shame of what he was being accused of. Just remember he has multiple personalities and had no business to ever sign anything and his attorney was informed of this before he was sentenced. I am currently attempting to get his case overturned.

Have you imagine sending an innocent to prison? It is a crime. I am writing this note from a hospital bed, I never imagine how much pain we can suffer for having a love one accused of a crime that he did not commit. Jesus Christ was crucified after all and everybody was so scared that nobody defended him. How can you defend yourself when everyone think you are guilty the moment you are accused? before the trial? and is all over the news? I beg you, in the name of God, the one that will judge us all, please do what is right. Do honour The Constitution of the United States of America, the Amendments, and don't make us all loose faith in the legal system. How can you not see that he is innocent? Please look his whole life, he has never commit any crime, he is a hard working professional with a big family that love him dearly and never have seen any wrongdoing. We are all destroyed, the world have collapsed under our feet, and is so much pain.... we know him, he is innocent. Please Be Just, look at his life, there you will see the truth. I plead to our Father God in the name of his Son Jesus, Amen.

In these entrapment stings the FBI agents or police are operating by actions in which they are breaking the law of private institutions (Craig List, etc. ), Federal, state and local laws by soliciting crime, and lastly by violating constitutional rights of individuals. (First and Fourth Amendments). The nature of the problem that the government agents pursue, publicize and market at a big scale which makes the general public to be afraid to be involved and to understand what really is going on. The results is such that these government agents have been empowered and embolden to extreme abuses securing their programs with money and career advancement for such easy, and amusing way to make a living for them and at the same time without absolute concern in destroying the lives of their victims. In the meantime, real life perpetrators are endeavors that are not pursued because they are more challenging projects. The consequence of the current system is that the money and resources are diverted to this factory of crime perpetrated by government agents. It should be a logical, legal and just system for these terrifying events that are happening too often, and we are allowing to continue. These stings have ruined lives and destroyed families it's time to declare this type of action unconstitutional.

The sting operations are destroying lives of individuals who otherwise would positively contribute to our society. In the process, these operations destroy the lives of many families that have to face the consequences of a father or son who is unjustly accused of these crimes. Our congress representatives should come down from an unreasonable "tough-on-crime" position and look at the reality of the situation.

Law enforcement should be utilizing their resources to proctect children, instead of creating crimes that have never occurred and taking advantage of innocent men. Stop the entrapment and it is time to hold law enforcement accountable for the lives they are destroying.

This is what my boy Lindsey said.... He basically pivots from the subject here... Dear Mr.: Thank you for contacting me regarding human trafficking. As an original cosponsor of the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015, which became law on May 29, 2015, I have long been committed to working to pass legislation that will provide support for and protection of victims of human trafficking. For everyone in the Lincolnton entrapment sting you need to contact all the TV news outlets and papers in the area. Nick Ochsner at WBTV is one to contact. Also the NCSBI neebs to be contacted start with Agent Kimbrough. The only way to fight this is to take it public. The Police and judicial system in Lincoln county is crooked. One of the men entrapped in this sting took his life b/c of this. It must stop and the officers involved need to be punished. Google Internet Crimes Against Children guidelines for more info about how the sting in Lincolnton is violating the rules for these types of operations

My husband was arrested for a sex sting on Craigslist for communicating with a minor. He has lost his job we lost our home and now we are paying for a lawyer and a bond. I lost my job also. We ate homeless Noone wants a child sex offender living near them. It's not fair or right for an officer to go on computer sites that areven for adults ONLY and post an ad only to end up playing that they are something else in the end. This isn't fair to anyou MAN and that's all they r targeting. The are not looking for the real criminals only easy money. Someone please help get this story out. The papers and the news don't want to tell the truth about what is really going on all they want to do is make the cops look great and the men look like criminal. It's wrong. It's all wrong.

The real sex offenders are out abusing our children while the police are sitting in front of a computer entrapping men on an ADULT website! I agree the I ncentive behind these type of operations is not to seek out those who are actually perpetrating these types of crimes, but to manufacture as many arrests as possible to make it appear the problem is worse than it really is in order to continue to receive millions of $$$ in federal funds from the DOJ. It's called, "cooking the books". There is no proof that men are utilizing adult dating sites to prey upon minors, yet that is where most arrests are from. All recent arrests in my county show no prior child abuse offense. Too many lives are being destroyed by these stings. There are numerous online stories and articles that have exposed the truths about how law enforcement conducts these illegal operations, but unfortunately the DOJ has not legally been challenged on the issue. Until someone does, the $$$ will continue to flow and law enforcement will continue to create criminals. It's the biggest scam ever.
