My ex is unemployed yet is being forced to fund my child's TANF and 80% of his Medicaid health insurance. Now you've taken his license. Great job, now he not only can't work (rural area no public transportation) but I can't send my son there on the weekends because he would have to pick him up and take him to ferry, now a crime that could result in arrest and more debt. THIS LAW SERVES ONLY TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE and multiplies the poverty my son and I already live in. Completely counter-intuitive law. Now I know why they've passed all those laws disenfranchising voters without drivers licenses: strip impoverished citizens of voting rights so you can strengthen the plutocracy. For the life of me, I don't see how any of this is even remotely constitutional!

I believe child support should be paid when owed - however suspending the license isn't the way to do it. Sometimes good people fall on bad times. If the obligated parent was out of work for s period of time and had no income coming in, it could cause them to get behind. Taking away the license takes away the ability to find and keep gainful employment. This is not in anyone's best interest.

It makes no sense to me why you would take a person's ability to get to and from work if you want them to pay any support. Chances are you take it away and they will no longer have a job. If someone is already having hard times why make it worse, these are things that cause suicide in the world today. Instead of making a bad situation worse find a different solution taking a license cuts off a person's life line.

I think that they should at least allow hardship lic , its only fair ? This isnt really helping any $ to flow in my opinion lots of people can not work at all , so how can they get any place , they only go down ? Whats so hard to get about this, stripping of the lic is good enough give them the means to work at least ?
