I live in the country area...gravel roads and cornfields...i drive for a tow company in the city...got hurt at home and was out for only 4days..bills got backed up...child support couldn't get my payment...drivers license got suspended...i was finished...i was forced to drive illegel until i got caught.. -

Slave trade was once legal in this country so was segregation. One can not expect a family to function in harmony while a member is being oppressed . So laws are invalid and have no value in a developed nation like America . Other industrialized nations that are family oriented and practice family values don't subject parents to this kind of treatment . Sweden has more human realistic laws. It's no wonder the value of life is not see in America . Be it the police, gang violence, we are now used to killings and destroying any form of love of loving institutions. No one is perfect in life, so let's think of better ways in raising our children even is we are not in love anymore with each other as parents. This law was implemented because of a letter i wrote to president Clinton in reguards to my children's father not paying his child support while employed as a truck driver. This was at a time when our economic situation was booming. There was no valid excuse for non payment. Todays economy leaves a different situation. unemployment and lack of jobs has caused many men and women to get behind in payments. i feel something should be set up like a hard ship license where the person can only get a license to be used only for work. Also must report where they work to DMV to continue to use the license so that support enforcement can use this data base to keep track of where they are employed and employers must report to DMV when employment is terminated which will cause suspention of license till the person is remployed and it is reported where they are working. This way child support can be collected and earned.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm a dad that loves my two boys I'm behind child support payment's work whent down I work in a HAVC company that I work so hard for I need my license to work for them I haven't had a license for about 7 months do to not paying child support I don't understand how they want us to pay child support if I don't have a license to drive lucky I been working with this company for 2 and they really like me because I'm a hard worker so they have me working with someone that has a license I don't care about paying child support that's not a problem what I care is they suspending my license now how do they expect for me to pay child support if I can't even drive to work to make money to support it ...REPORT COMMENTS

I am a single dad with three children, two that I am currently paying child support for. I am very far behind on payments and all year long I suffer from suspended license due to my arrears. I have lost jobs and even got pulled over not knowing my license was suspended at the time, and had my car towed and license cut up. I recently got a notice my license was suspended even though I am making up to date payments and working hard to pay child support and just getting by at that. I strongly agree that this should not be an option for obliges to indure. I love my children but I am falling on hard times and feel I will never catch up if something isn't done. This system is hard on all that pay child support, and it does nothing but kick us while we are down. Im a proud father in b2b sales who uses his vehicle everyday for work and just was informed my license was suspended without warning due to behind on child support and the only reason im behind is due to fighting for custody/visitation spending unnecessary money for attorney's for things that should be normal haven't missed a payment in almost 3 years and now im behind due to there lack of maturity when that money could be going to child support and my kidsREPORT COMMENTS

I missed Nov and dec due to hardship I run an in home daycare that was my work around on not having a valid license .. oarent don't pay me or don't show up ..I fall behind on everything.. my house my bills ..my child support. Making decisions on pay toward arrears or keep lights on.. our kids are 24,21,and 19. My license was suspended because I lost my job and couldn't pay child support. I was working as an HVAC service technician, so the majority of my day was driving. The suspension caused, further unemployment and more financial strain. There are many examples of people feeling cornered and falling into criminal activity out of desperation to survive.
