Although I am a mother and not a father, I too am now stuck in this cycle of an unjust cycle of vicious lies. I have not seen my son 17 months solely based on the lies of my ex boyfriend. The allegation is that I sexually abused my son. My real crime, I filed for child support. CPS adamantly refused to fully investigate the situation, then placed my son with the true abuser, his father. Not only do I have physical evidence, but I have witnesses as well. DHS refused to hold a hearing. They are waiting for the custody trial, which has absolutely nothing to do with these false allegations, other than the fact my ex will try to use this to get full custody. What about our constitutional rights? What about Due Process? What about Parental Civil Liberties? What about being considered innocent until proven guilty? I have missed 2 of his birthdays, 2 of my birthdays, two valentines, as well as Easter. I have missed 1 Thanksgiving, and 1 Christmas. Most importantly, I have missed having the opportunities to guide my son to be a decent young man, while he is in the home of the abuser. I have missed the opportunity to keep up on his health issues as well. I am being punished for leaving an abuser, I am being punished for asking for support. I am not the only one being punished, as my son that is with his father, and his older brother that is with me, are being punished as well.REPORT COMMENTS

False allegations of DV have become standard practice when one party decides they need a little extra leverage in court. It's often encouraged by other parties who've successfully used the same strategy to inflict revenge on their ex-partners, and sometimes even the attorneys themselves. Laws and policies are set up to discriminate by gender such that proof is not required if the accused is a man, and there are no repercussions for lying. I am currently dealing with a woman whom I love very much and wanted to have a marriage with. She left with our child 4 weeks ago, and has kept me from my daughter in addition to filing false claims of child abuse with the C.P.S. and has been staying in a shelter for abused women. The CPS case worker saw that she was lying and closed the case. Her exact words were that "your child's mother has no idea of what abuse is", and that she was going to close the case. She has spent the last 4 weeks telling everyone that she is afraid of me, but cannot explain why? I have NEVER committed domestic violence with my daughter's mother. The police have been called and even they knew that it was a farce. These types of situations have got to stop. In order for this to stop, women who file false claims must suffer some consequences. Domestic Violence is a serious matter that should not to be played with. There are thousands of women and children who really suffer from domestic violence and really need help. It is not fair to those who are really being abused, nor is it fair to the men and children who are involved in the false allegations, not to mention case workers and police officers whose time and energy is wasted responding to false claims. As a man who grew up in an abusive home, I am disgusted by anyone who would make false claims of abuse. I beg of congress to implement some type of punishment procedure against anyone who lies about being a victim of domestic violence. This is the only way that this will stop. When people have to deal with consequences for their actions, it makes most people think twice about taking those actions unless they are hardened criminals who don't care or mentally ill, which brings me to another point. There definitely should be a psychological observation performed on the women who make false claims as well. A lot of times these women suffer from emotional issues of the past that have been buried and they are coming to the surface. By doing this the matter can be handled from a clinical perspective as well as a criminal. Please. I beg of you to really make the necessary changes to the Domestic Violence policies to prevent false claims and protect the rights of the children and the person whom the false claim was made by.REPORT COMMENTS
