To Congress and State Senators, This tax against the tanning industry is racist, discriminatory, and unconstitutional. It singles out small businesses primarily owned and operated by Caucasian women and also is an attempt to pass a large burden of funding onto a small portion of the American public. Socialized medicine is not the way this Country should be heading. Proposing a bill like this is asking the few to pay for the many. This is not the American way. This type of strong arming by the Government will further thrust our Country into a deficit. This Country was founded on free speech, free press, free religion, and free enterprise. We need to return to the basis and fundamentals that our forefathers provided for us. They are surely rolling in their graves right now. We need to give the people back the power or the people will need to take it back on their own. I am ashamed of the representation employed for our Country, My Country, Your Country. Specifically, the socialized medicine proposal needs to be dissolved. Taxing hard working Americans to care for the lazy is not constitutional. We are to make our own way in this Country, we are to work hard and be proud citizens and to provide for ourselves. That is the American way. Forcing socialized medicine on this Country goes against the grain of the reason this Country was once great. If you want to solve the healthcare problems then how about deregulating the insurance companies and allow them to do business in all States and make them competitive. Make them work for the loyalty of their clients like the rest of us have to. Allow them to provide a competitive product for a fair price and then all will be able to afford to be insured. Don?t force me and others to have to provide for others that do not want to provide for themselves. THAT is the American way. Singling out specific industries to foot the bill will increase unemployment, homelessness, and will further burden the Nation?s economy. This industry as I am sure many are right now is at a stand still. No one is willing or able to invest any more into their businesses as they may be losing them soon if a tax like this is allowed to pass. Many small businesses in this Country are funded by people putting everything they have on the line to make this a better Country. They have placed their life savings, their homes, their good names, their blood, sweat, and tears on the line to provide income for their families, to provide jobs for their fellow citizens, and to provide economic stimulus for their communities. Many businesses are barely making it right now and are living hand to mouth. If this bill passes then it will surely create a devastating wave of depression that this Country has never known before. Do the right thing and give the people back the power to provide for them selves and give them the right back to succeed or fail on their own. Let them be responsible for themselves. I am responsible for myselfREPORT COMMENTS

This tax will do no more than further hurt an already bad economy. Tanning salons will have to pass this tax onto their customers who will then be less likely to use the salons services. This will thus cause layoffs and business closures. Furthermore, people thinking of starting new businesses will probably not open new salons because of this new tax. This will also keep this recession from recovering. Please remove this tax from the health care bill!REPORT COMMENTS

Targeting this industry in these tough economic times is going to be more detrimental to the cities and states they are located in- this could be the nail in the coffin for most small struggling tanning salons. It will have a domino effect for bankruptcy or tanning businesses closing the doors, which will hurt tax receipts and landlords renting to most of these businesses. We already are experiencing low sales volumes now and when the tax takes effect it is the slow time anyway, which makes matters worse for us to generate enough income to pay operating expenses. Tanning salons are now not a lucritive business to be in with all the bad publicity. Why take the tax off the Botox and cosmetic non necessary procedures? Its because Pelosi is a Botox junky and their lobbyists are stronger.REPORT COMMENTS

The tanning tax is to "supposed" to raise $2.7 billion over 10 years. However, most of us are able to see past "Government Math" and know that if this tax passes fewer people will tan and manys salons will close. Vitamin D defficiency creates a $440 billion per year burden on the health care system. Perhaps mandating healthy levels of Vitamin D for every American would be a better idea...isn't $4.4 trillion bigger than $2.7 billion?? Not according to "Government Math"REPORT COMMENTS
