Being that United States is currently dealing with the worst recession in history...I really don't understand why a very small minority (mainly the small business owner) group are being targeted to contribute to the National Health Care Reform. What this "Bill" is really going to do is drive Salons out of business, thus taking away jobs from young people, abolishing an Industry (UV Therapy) while further taking away a another form of business that will help to stimulate our current recessed economy. In addition why is the "Tan Tax" double (10%) of what was originally aimed at the Cosmetic Surgery Procedures (5%)?? Cosmetic Surgeons & Dermatologists obviously have deeper pockets to pay Lobbyist to take the financial responsibility off of them while moving it over to another form of small business owners. This is totally unfair! The Politicians up on the Hill believe that this Bill will discourage young adults from tanning, but rather they actually uninformed as to the benefits of UV Therapy. And it is a therapy that is being taken away from us Citizens! The optimum method for our bodies to assimilate Vitamin D into our bodies is through the skin! UV Light!! Our bodies are like plants! What will be taxed next...taking in some Sun at the beach? Or breathing in air? Like the old saying goes...just slowly turn up the heat in a pot of Frogs and they never will realize they are being boiled alive. As citizens of the U.S. we are slowly getting our Civil Rights taken away. What's next Mr. President?REPORT COMMENTS

All this tax is doing is hurting small business owners. Period. I live in a state that gets precious little sunlight and tanning helps keep the blues away. The sales tax on this service is plenty. This is gratuitous and shameless. Do better.REPORT COMMENTS

We already pay taxes on tanning we don't need an additional tax on it. It is going to effect minororiy bussiness owners and close alot of businesses. Then you will be losing out on all of the taxes that the business was already paying, plus have people unemployed etc. Bad idea. President we need help from you not hurt us! ThanksREPORT COMMENTS

Ok, first off I'd like to say thank you for being the *******s that you are. Oh wait, (pause) NOT!! I hate taxes to begin with, but who doesn't? Am I right? Am I? But let's focus on the real subject... Not tanning,,, Cigarettes. I dont understand why the tax has to be raised a dollar so that we can have more money go to the state so we can have more construction on our highways that makes us late to work. Sounds pretty dumb, huh? Yea thats what I thought too. Do you feel guilty when you pick up your paychecks, knowing that all you do is **** people off instead of making our nation greater? I truly believe if I ever worked for the government I would... Wait, wait.. I wouldnt do that. I made a funny!! Good bye and **** you!REPORT COMMENTS

Rewriting the government budget (or lack thereof) would cover the amount they are looking for. I was all for health care reform, it was only afterward that I found out this was attached. Funny how The Feds sneak things in under the radar.REPORT COMMENTS
