That's right cause I was put on child support while I was married and then they put me on back pay from when the baby was born and I was married and living with the woman and they have been taking my income tax for three years straight and I been struggling every since trying to make ends meet its not right

I am a father and I have a 6yr old daughter who I have beeno there for since day one. But because her mother and I had a disagreement I was served child support papers after I had already been providing and taking care of my daughter since she was born. My daughter has seen me come and go on many deployments overseas since she was born but I never stopped being a father to her. The courts told me that since she had 3 other children after my daughter and was unable to work I would have to pay more when I have a wife and home of my own to support. I cover my daughter medical and dental but yet I am still responsible for almost 100% over any none cover medical expenses. The courts rather make me pay all this money plus back child support even though I have given her over $28,000 since my daughter was bornot and have proof of every penny. I pleaded for custody for my daughter and didn't even want and support but yet they rather pay her $700 a month while she sits and home and now I have to get another job because serving my country wasn't enough anymore.

I believe that child support laws need to because I think they're some women who selfishly put the father on child support not for the kids but more out of spite or, just like welfare in some cases, they know the courts will side with the mother even in cases when the mother is NOT doing anything to change her life. I feel the child support laws destroy the relationship a father can have with their child due to what the court views as the value of children that the father should pay.

The damage has already been done of being cheated on and passing off a child who is not mine as my own. But to lie about the time I spend with my daughter by saying its short hours when its not and telling a child support case worker that she's not working and only collecting cash aid when she IS working...ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Its time for reform for me and all the good, hard working fathers out there trying to survive and be in our child's lives!!

Time out for this long running practice of extortion of fathers. If it was all the father's fault, a lot would be in prison for rape

I am a victim of this messed up system. I would love to see this unfair calculation changed. It really hinders my ability to give my children a good life. I have to shop at discount stores and live in massive debt all while my ex has no debt, lives lavishly, and is having a new house BUILT.

My father currently pays child support and cannot find a bigger place to live due to the amount he pays to this day for my younger brother and I. Due to this he cannot have me visit him as there is no space for me to stay. I believe he should not have to live the way he does, he is a great father who busts his behind day in and day out at work

Illinois is one of the few remaining states that needs a major overhaul pertaining to properly restructuring it's child support system. It's been long overdue! Child support should be based on both incomes, not just one.

We need more then child support reform, we need to start looking at co-parenting more. In this day there is no reason that both parents cant parent a child, so why are we still limiting a Father/Mother on how much he/she can be there for his child, taking away from said child? The court says they are doing what is best for the child, well I don't know what world they live in where stripping a child from a true Father/Mother and limiting that time is in no way what is best for the child. As it says there are bad parents, but the good ones should not be taken away. Parents should work together to form a plan, and if they don't work together then the one who is fighting everything or making unreal demands should be the one who looses. Lets start doing what is really best for the child, and allow them the opportunity to have both parents in their life, not just part time.

Ex wife turned kids against a good dad. Lets hang outwith drug takers and have sex at 14. Filed false relief for back chiild support for 10 yrs. perjured herself on that. Court did nothing.. False false molestation charges. To stop me from seeing daughter. Been in court for 4 years looks to be another7 or eight years. The courts are letting despicable women ruin their families and good dads.

Men and women were created to be equally important in the lives of their children. They area no less capable of love and support, and they could become greatly undervalued and seen as as secondary citizens if we don't support them.

I don't understand how a father that has 50/50 custody of his children and has supported them from the day they were born has to pay more child support for his ex wife's other child by her husband now. The father's child support of his two children went up when his ex wife gave birth to her newborn child which her new husband is the father! Why is it that he works and supports his children, attends functions that they are in and spends his quality time with them and his support went up when this other child was born and that child is not even his child? Please help support father's that are mothers too that do work and support there children that he loves unconditionally!
