I'm so poor I can't even live on my own and I'm 37. I've always worked. I make a living wage. I have one child. I've been paying child support for 12 years. Our child is now 16. She has always made it a point to work less or not all at to get more money. She's collected welfare or off the good graces of her well of mother. She's also lived with a boyfriend that took care of her. Now she is remarried living in a nice home and working making 300 more a moth and 3000 more a year but my support has just risen by 150. I live in a small bedroom in an apartment that isn't even mine feeling like a bottom feeder since it's that or being homeless and not able to see my kid. I'm not eligible for any assistance because even though the 5000 I pay each year takes me down below poverty level they don't count that when you file for welfare. I'm stuck between depression and suicidal thoughts. My kid has everything named brand, PlayStation, iPhone, etc and I cant even afford any of that for myself and I'm grown adult. My ex goes on exotic vacations each year and can take day trips places when I have to figure out if I have enough money for gas. The courts don't care. This life is really hard.

Women are using the laws of child support to abuses the power they hold over a man. They are not teaching or taking care of their responsibility to provide for the child or children. I see women getting personal items or spending money on theither hair, nails, their own bills, their new hysband/boyfriend /significant other and their kids go starving. Kids are sleeping on a pile of clothing on the floor. Yes I have seen kids starving in the streets asking for money. Shoes being worn down until they have holes or are talking. I have seen mothers driving in new cars while the kids walk around in rags and tatters. Yes there are men who don't pay but you baby group them all in one box. There needs to be reform. There needs to be education so we don't continue down this degrading and brow beaten path. Women and men both need to be held for accountability of their child (ren). If we're promoting family, why is it that we are only punishing the men and praising dead beat moms? Things need to change. We all need it.

The system is set up against fathers. I was put on child support before I even found out if the child was mine or not

Child custody should be split 50/50. Then there is no one paying anything to people who do not use it as intended. Both parties equally pay for their child along with equal time shared. That's the simplest fix.

Also I believe mothers or fathers should have to submit their receipts or canceled checks for things such as daycare or football, dance, summer camp. Especially when it's perfectly acceptable to get a friend to write whatever amount you want and tell child support that's what they pay.

Fathers should not have to spend thousands of dollars on an attorney to get minimal visitation in family court. Non custodial parents should not have to repay government assistance given to the custodial parent, EVER! I would like to see an automatic minimum wage assignment applied to all unemployed custodial parties as well

We need to stop bad parents of taking advantage of their children's child support because of lazy parenting. True parents both work hard and together to support their child.

In addition to these excellent points, I would like to add a few other reforms: 1. States should not have the right to retro activate child support. Child support should start the day the order is signed. They should not be able to go back two, three, four years etc. 2. There should be no interest accrued on child support arrears 3. Child support and visitation should go hand in hand. If the non custodial parent is forced to pay child support than the custodial parent should be forced to allow visitation. 4. Some type of court required counseling should be mandated for both parties to ensure a cohesive and beneficial co parenting partnership 5. Each child support payee should have a dedicated account manager within the child support system who can create modifications for review in the case of loss of income or additional children or additional child support 6. Child support should only be able to garnish up to 25% of the non custodial parents income. The non custodial parent should not have to live a life of poverty nor his spouse and any children they have together 7. If the non custodial parent has multiple child support cases they must each divide the 25%. No more than 25% of wages should be garnished for child support 8. Parents whose wages are being garnished for child support should receive immunity for license suspension and jail time.

JOIN FREE: Federal Class Action for U.S. Child Custody Victims - Friends, I just joined CAPRA as one of the lead plaintiffs in an upcoming landmark federal class action lawsuit against all 50 States and the Federal Government, because I qualify as: (1) a biological parent whose child custody was unconstitutionally removed without due process; and, (2) I have been directly impacted by that during the last four years, i.e., within the statute of limitations. This class action is on behalf of *both* types of "family court" -- for wrongful victims of divorce-and-similar-with-kids *and* for wrongful victims of child protection services -- and includes suing on behalf of ANY parent affected by either "family court" type. It's totally free to join, and the federal court relief being demanded includes the full restoral of my child custody rights under law, plus a nice share of the large amount in civil damages expected. Check it out! It just requires entering someone's referral Code to join, so PLEASE use mine - 42085JL619 - in the CAPRA registration form, located on the bottom of the homepage at http://parentalrightsclassaction.com Plus, check out their power-packed Legal Tips page for all parents fighting family court, too -- Wow!! Thanks!!

Perjury in a family court of law should should hold the same weight as legal ramifications as it does in a criminal court of law.

Laws now are ridiculously flawed without a hint of common sense. She makes $30,000 a year more than I do. her salary (90k). I have to pay 750mo. which means I cant afford my bills and have to move in with my mother into a small house. Which means that's where my daughter will spend her visitation. All her toys and things will have to go into storage. does that make sense?
