While illegal immigrants keep getting privileges at citizens' expense, those who would immigrate lawfully are punished with waiting lists and quotas. It's time to reverse this trend. Nation-based numerical limits are arbitrary, antiquated and racist. We need to take a smarter approach where law-abiding people who want to come to this country can do so in an honest and transparent manner. I support LEGAL immigration.

Have a very hardworking and brilliant daughter who is graduating from the governor school for math and science of SC in May 2015. She will not be considered a resident of SC because we don't have a green card and she will not be eligible for in state tuition. Congress and everyone involved needs to understand how disheartening it is to be in my daughter's shoes. We need help and it needs to be now! Please pass this bill. Thanks!

This rule is direct discrimination of immigrants of India and China which constitute 40% of world population but are allowed only 14% visas.

Please pass the bill to help is have a decent bondage free life. We are made to wait for nearly 8 years just to get a green card even for the highly skilled category whereas people from the rest of the world would have their green cards processed right away. Even China, the most populous country in the world, has fewer years of wait time compared to us. You might probably feel this is okay, but when a tragedy strikes, you are still expected to continue to work and do excellent work, which is almost like bonded labor or risk being fired and sent back. The way the system seems to work is that illegal immigrants are better off than the legal potential immigrants from India.

Removing the per country limit seems like the step in the right direction. Enabling tax paying legal immigrants priority over non-tax payers will only help make the economy of the country stronger going forward.
