I came to this country 10 years back and did my masters in engineering here and started paying taxes ever since. I've applied my green card years back and still waiting for it, its all because I'm an Indian. Where as my friends from all other countries not only got their green card but also their citizenship. Currently people from India and china are waiting up to 10 years to get their permanent residency. This is all because of the per country quota system in the employment visa category. For Example: A country like Iceland having population of 300K is getting same number of visas compared to a country like India with 1.5 billion population, which is not fare in the skilled based visa category. Today I came to know that congressmen Jason Chaffetz has introduced a bill to remove this per country quota system. (?H.R. 213 To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to eliminate the per-country numerical ...?). I trust I can count on not only yours bill also all of your colleague congressmen to support this bill.REPORT COMMENTS

Would be the best step forward on modernizing the current immigration system. Above all, the Employment Based immigration rules need a big overhaul. US should not lose those talents that acquire knowledge wealth here in US and then ship outside due to Visa constraints or backlogs. Let us set a level playing field for all to exhibit their qualities! Hoping against all hopes that things would change, at least now!REPORT COMMENTS
