Dear Congress member, Please do something for people who came legally and follow all the rules... 1. Allow (AOS) Adjustment of Status (filing I-485) upon I-140 approval so the candidates can use Employment Authorization (EAD) to live freely until they get their turn for receiving a permanent residency or the green card. 2. Allow dependent visa holders such as H4 to use the EAD while the primary visa holders are navigating through the permanent residency process. 3. Allow domestic renewal of H1B visas for those who are legally present in the US. 4. Remove the dependent visa counts from the annual green card quota for employment based immigration. 5. Remove per country limitation for employment based immigration. 6. Recapture unused visa numbers from prior years. 7. Remove age-out restriction for dependent visa holders if their permanent residence going through GC ProcressREPORT COMMENTS

This is the simplest and most easiest way to fix the broken employment part of the immigration system. Unfortunately congress never addresses this issue due to politics. I dont think they care about us who are suffering from the consequences.REPORT COMMENTS

I am living in this country for the past 12 + years on H4. My spouse ia on H 1 and we have 2 kids elder one is 18 and younger one is 13. We came when elder one was 8 Yrs and little one was 2 +. Since the day we came I could not work as I am on H4 visa. Due to the single income in the family we were pretty much trying to meet our ends. Today elder one with a decent score in SAT and GPA is ready to go to college. Most of the colleges are not recognizing him as a resident as he does not have an SSN and asking to pay out of state/international student fee. Since i was unable to work all these years we do not have money to send out child to college. We have started out GC process 10 years back and as my spouse's employer applied only in EB3 category we have are not yet eligible to apply for I 485. Due to all this the prime energetic earning period of my life is gone in the drain as i was unable to work all these years. If attaining GC takes 20 + years then how can people like us survive in this country. Immigration has been a joke by both the parties. Democrats have tied legal immigration with illegal immigration and Republics want to fix legal immigration. Every time either party wants to fix our outdated immigration system the opposition opposes it. Due to this political scenario for the past decade government is running, party in power is ruling gaining name as they are taking initiative to fix the immigration but opposition opposing ultimately years have passed by and only families like us who are law abiding, tax paying immigrants are suffering in silence. This is my story and it is high time the government takes goes forward on this bill and fixes the immigration system suitable to 21st century. I would suggest that government re captures the unused GC 1992 - 2000. Also remove the per country quota of 7% and make the skilled worker program on a first come first serve basis. We already have the Diversity Visa category for the %. Also its high time dependents are removed from the number of GC's issues in a year instead count each primary member and their dependents as 1, 1A, 1B, 1C etc. I am sure if these are implemented then we will not have this problem. Thanking You. Uday Babu.REPORT COMMENTS

By the virtue of being a citizen of a particular country, a legal immigrant has to wait for 10 or may be 15 years to get a green card, illegals who have not paid taxes can get it quicker, does it make sense?REPORT COMMENTS
