I would like to state. I am proud to be a American. I have rights. And stand up proud for the Constitution. With my family house of Burgess's I was young and made mistakes And learned. With wide cultural military experience and life and kids. People mature with life and age I am a college grad. And own and operate my own fabrication and Welding business. And yet 10 years now Im still being judged and denied my rights for misdemeanor. It starts here with our rights and making a stand.

If someone has remained crime-free for 5 years and has paid the price for a criminal act that did not kill or rape anyone, they should be granted a clean start, including a clean record. To forever punish them is not fair and should not be the American way. I support their record having full expungement.

I find it hard to understand why the state of Virginia will allow me to gain my rights back but it's conditional and at best, less than fulfilling as I am still barred from a majority of jobs due to something that is 30 years old. Please, allow record sealing so we can actually become a functional, legitimate part of society.

I live in Georgia and unless you were not convicted at all or did not plea out, you cannot have your record expunged or sealed. The case had to be dropped or dismissed only. I'm still serving a very lengthy probation sentence for my crimes, but I'm serving them without supervision. I've read that there are congress people who are for reform but don't want to restore rights to "murderers and rapists". I just want to have the right to "do something with my life," I'd like to be able to get a license in a field of some sort, where I can properly support my family. There are many criminals in our society, and there are many people who have committed crimes and changed. Logically, someone who has not rehabilitated would not even waste time with political issues and most likely would not exercise their right to vote anyway, so I don't see the harm with restoring rights and allowing measures that would give people a clean break.

I am as well a felon in the state of Missouri. I have proven myself a stable member of society. With the threats of the world today I would like to legally be permitted to own/carry a weapon for protection. Amongst other things like voting.

I belive in Virginia if your conversation is over 5 years it should be sealed or not seen for the average job if for government or state job then I believe they have the right to see those records average job filling after 5 years so that way they can get a job committing crime

Plead guilty at 17. Got state job at 23. Bid on new position at 31. Technology caught up to me and was dismissed with 2 young children and wife to support. Was slated to be hired by city and local railroad until I disclosed conviction. Was told point blank conviction would never allow my hiring. I feel I've paid enough

I personally have never been convicted of any crime, but I believe that people should get second chance. Our system punishes people till the day they die. This system is cruel, its time to change it.
