God knows a person's heart I feel if they are trying to better themselves and have paid their dues why not give them a chance to make their lives and our world a better place.

If you paid your dues. I feel it's justified to have it sealed depending on the case. How can people bounce back and feed their families if they can't get the proper job?

Ex offenders re offend because they are not given second chances. This keeps the cycle going in a downward spiral! I say if they have did their time and or court stipulations and have worked hard to show they have been rehabilitated they should be allowed to at least work. If they can't work, how will they support themselves and their families? If the barriers are removed these people can get back into society and rebuild themselves. I'm for this bill being passed! I feel the 7 year time frame is a long time making it very hard on these individuals to live a productive life.

I THINK INDIVIDUALS PLACED IN PRISONS FOR DRUGS RELATED SENTENCES SHOULD HAVE REHAB, COUNSELING . I HAVE A GRAND DAUGHTER THAT IS PRISON FOR ILL MANU OF DRUGS, ILL CULTIVATION, AND ENDANGERING CHILDREN. SHE WAS AT THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME. SHE WAS SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS. HER TRIAL WAS A SET UP AND SHE TESTED NEGATIVE WHEN ARRESTED. THEY REALLY HAD NO EVIDENCE. SHE WAS DONE WRONG. MEIGS COUNTY, OHIO IS SO CORRUPT IT REALLY NEEDS INVESTIGATED.

I support this bill 100%. Felony convictions that are 10 or more years old and the individual has not had any encounters with law enforcement. The individual is working to better his/her life and their rights have been restored. I believe that the individual should have the right to have their record sealed or expunged. A felony conviction prevents an individual from getting a good paying job (salary based job), it prevents the individual from furthering their education (they are denied for financial aide) unable to pay for tuition because they can only be hired by an employer that offers minimum wage. Please pass this bill and help get our nation back on top by helping the people of our wonderful country become better citizens.

Voting rights mean, it's a right, not a privilege. Any conviction is a life sentence in Florida. Our elected leaders in our state need to end jim crow. And let everyone vote. If you are a Florida resident, please sign the petition to restore felon rights.

Let's finally make the term "paid debt to society" mean something. There are many talented people out there who made mistakes and should not have to be penalized for the rest of their lives.

I cant began to tell you how hard it is to move on. I signed a legal document and was convicted of a felony at 23. I am 45 now with a degree and a singles mother. I can't own a firearm to protect my family. I can't live in a decent apartment and I'm afraid to leave my current job for fear of my 20 year background popping back up. People should pay for what they do, including me. The current laws regarding non violent felons keeps people in poverty and the mentality spills into the lives of our children. It's a shame!

I had been working at a professional company for 10 years and was offered a more lucrative position for another company in another state. I accepted the offer and moved to the new state and 2 days before my start date, I was advised that i was ineligible for hire due to a misdemeanor from more than 6 years ago but not older than 7 years ago. I moved my entire family (Wife and two children) from Florida to Georgia and now I don't have a job(I might add that my wife relinquished her position as well). I immediately began searching for new employment and I secured a number of other employment opportunities due to my education and experiences on my resume. It has been 3 months since all of this transpired and I was recently hired to work for Coca Cola Refreshments in Atlanta GA. The day prior to my start date with Coca Cola I was advised that due to my background I would not be eligible for hire. Even though I had performed for the last 10 years at a reputable company liability free... I began to look at expungement/sealing and i found that I cannot seal or expunge my record due to being adjudicated guilty on the misdemeanor. I then looked into having the verdict set aside to then seal or expunge however I found that I also fall outside of the eligible requirements for that motion as well. My last hope was a misdemeanor pardon which i thought would for sure help, however I have found that Florida Pardons do not allow sealing or expungement due to the stipulation that the Pardon doesn't remove the adjudication of guilt, it simply forgives the offense. Employment recruiters do not see this Pardon, only the conviction. I have 5 children that I have been taking care of since their births 3 of those children were prior to my marriage and last two children. I have to pay child support for these children and now my license has been suspended by the Department of Revenue due to non payment and shortly a warrant will be issued for my arrest. If I am unable to come up with the funds of what i owe in child support (which by the way comes at the price of $2300/mo X 3 Months or whenever they get around to arresting me) I will have to spend 6 months in jail as punishment. One of my children's mothers decided to work with me on the child support and try to cancel the order, the representative explained to them that they would have to discontinue any and all sorts of government assistance they were collecting currently ie food stamps, medicaid, cash assistance etc. In this case she would need to cancel the food stamps is getting. Obviously this will put her in a situation and now puts us at odds with each other. As a man I have no choice but to coerce her not to discontinue the assistance at the risk of my children either not being able to eat or by her losing her place of residence trying to put food on the table because her apartment is astronomically overpriced. I know what you're thinking, "Why dont you look to Mc Donalds or some place less likely to run a backg
