Animal care needs to have upgraded standards, abolish puppy mills, make animal abuse a felony punishable by prison time and community service designed to change the abusers hearts and minds.Abolish "crushing", and mass breeding of "small" animals. Dear Congress Members, Please give protection rights to the animals which they deserve. As a nation, we should be thinking of what is expected of us. To be humane and caring and compassionate to all living things. What impression are we giving to other countries who respect us or are partners with us in the same goals for a better world? A better world means environment, natural wildlife, protecting the earth, the good of the people and very important, protection of All animals. The United States should be seen as a just, civilized, modern nation. Barbaric ways of thinking sends a message to the other countries that our nation is that type of country. And of course, as a nation, we wish not to be seen that way. But when animals are being abused, neglected, starved, tortured, dumped, thrown out and the laws are not there to protect them and save them when something bad has happened to them, what are the other countries left to think? What is the U.S. showing the civilized world? Believe it, the other countries know, thanks to the world wide web, the U.S. cannot hide this type of tragedy any longer. Does the U.S. want to be seen in shame? What kind of nation is it that doesn't do something? The United States Congress can do something. We can be proud that we are Americans. Our forefathers did something, they made a great nation! Countries look up to us and respect us but only if we do the right thing. Please, put into laws, on a federal level that all the states abide by the legislations set forth to protect ALL animals: All Pets-including but not limited to Dogs & Cats, All Equine-including but not limited to Horses & Donkeys, All Livestock-including but not limited to Cattle.
