I know if you have an animal and you are abusing him/her you should be abused or even worse. These animals are defenseless and to treat them badly is wrong. I love my 2 dogs Izabella and Samson I could not imagine ever intentionally hurting them. They have feelings and hearts too. Please stop the abuse on the defenseless animals. I hope a law like this passes maybe just maybe it will help.REPORT COMMENTS

I agree with the last two comments...dogfighting must be outlawed and the laws must be enforced with serious sentencing, not just token punishments! These perpetrators have no regard for life and will often proceed to violence against people as well. Anyone convicted of animal abuse needs to serve time.REPORT COMMENTS

As a Corrections Officer, I see what kind of sentencing that is being handed out. NOT ENOUGH!!!!! My dogs are my kids so if someone hurts, mames or kills them I want the highest sentence given.REPORT COMMENTS

There needs to be much stricter laws concerning the real abuse to any animals. And lets be sure that we define real abuse!!! Not people who are taking care of their animals ,and or have multiple animals that people are, really taking care of. We, each person, needs to be accountable for their abusive actions, no matter if they are a famous ,or a popular figure, or if they have money!!!! God Blessed us these fantastic creatures to enjoy not abuse, and, or take for granted. They are not the garbage, they are living, breathing, feeling,creatures ,and the dog is one of Gods best examples of unconditional love !!!!! Lets protect them for the treasures they are!!!
