This should have been done years ago. Companies get on tv and sell drugs all day, Many of which have not been tested and have no real benifets at all, and the side effects are usually worse than the thing they are supposed to cure!!! It might even create a few job's in this state... And i for one could use a job!!! Legalize it already!!!!

All studies show Medical Marijuana to be more beneficial than harmful. It should be apparent to residents of Kentucky and the American citizens across parts of our country, that our elected leaders are selective in making decisions that would benefit people. The state of Kentucky should be front running the sale and taxing of Medical Marijuana. Marijuana has been one of our major cash crops grown here in Kentucky for many years. It is wrong for us to not be benefiting from something that we do well. Many other great states in the US have already shown the benefits of Medical Marijuana. The jobs it could produce in the medical field, retail, courier-service, agriculture, and all the other employment fields that would trickle down jobs needed from the Medical Marijuana industry. As people we need to fight for what we think is right. Our world is trending in a direction that the American people could grab onto and ride all the way to change. We have let officials and elected leaders take advantage of our trust and dedication for a long time. We should all get back to doing what's right for the people. We are a new generation that needs to fight to make this country reflective of us. Peoples thought's and opinions have changed so much about Medical Marijuana in the past 5 years showing that a lot of them approve the legalization of Medical Marijuana. It's time for a change here in Kentucky, let's start by legalizing Medical Marijuana ans show that we have compassion and care for our native Kentuckians.

You may quote any study concerning the medical benefits vs the risk factor, positive or negative. All I know is that I would be eligible for medical marijuana ,in all the states that have it, for a variety of valid medical reasons. It has helped me more than it has hurt me in the 34 years I've smoked it. The problem is that I cannot afford to move and I like where I live. We need medical cannabis at the least with full legalization, taxation and regulation the ideal goal.

I am tired of people enduring daily pain having to feel like a criminal or not getting the help they deserve from medical marijuana! It is ok for us to cause serious addictions to man made prescribed drugs for peoples medical needs with all types of severe side effects, but the plant that grows natural on Gods green earth that can help many is not permitted by law. i think that it is un constitutional to ban a natural occuring plant from the public! Wake up folks!

When will science and facts be the base for our drug laws? When will you do what the majority of the citizens want you to and pass some rational drug polices and/or medical laws? Lets get to it, marijuana was made illegal due to lies fear and greed, they used fear of minorities to push through laws that kept Hemp form being produced, they used scare tactics to keep it illegal for 74yrs now. But we all know the truth and its getting very old, since the prohibition of this plant has lead to more violence and crime than the drug itself would have ever caused. It has to stop and we are asking you to stop it. we can only tell you what we want, but we can vote for those that do want what we want too. So keep this issue in mind as it gets bigger and bigger, because soon it will be the reason you win or lose your next election. Thank you for your time.

I have manic depression, Bipolar disorder, developing arthritis, migranes, severe headaches and many other medical problems I've been put on pills for all of it and nothing worked, the only time i ever felt remotely good was when I smoked marijuana, I think this should be legalized because sometimes nothing else works.

I think it should be legal for anybody with chronic pain and cancer. It helps your appitite and settles an upset stomach so you can keep the food you eat down. It is not a man made chemical, it will not destroy your main organs the way medicines do. It does not have effects like alcohol and other drugs have and you cannot od on it. It would help get the street drugs off the street and help boost the economy.

I think it is time to legalize cannabis, it can help many people. It helps cancer, eating disorders, people who have ms, and many chronic pain disorders. There is nothing harmful about it.

I hope we can change this law but I also feel that the government is making money off of it indrectly, so therefore making it harder to pass the bill. But most importantly if you legalize it you erase drug dealers out of the situation which over time will then lead to lower crime rates. Think about it, it just makes sense to legalize it. Its a plant that grows natural out in habitat you dont have to add any chemicals or stimulants to it to achieve your buzz, not to mention the minor affects that it has on you. DONT KNOCK IT UNTIL YOU TRY IT.

I was medically discharged from the Army due to multiple conditions with my back including but not limited to: Scoliosis, Degenerative Disc Disease, Arthritis, Kyphosis, and multiple Herniated Discs. I'm a husband and a father, and it saddens me that I can't do something as simple as going to the grocery store with my wife due to my condition and the constant pain it causes. At one time I was prescribed Hydrocodone by a licensed physician, I was on them for a little over 1 1/2. I did indeed get addicted to them and ended up buying them off the street for some time. I found that the pills did reduce my pain, not completely relieve it, but did reduce it. Marijuana eliminates it almost completely. I'm able to go out somewhere and see my daughter smile because I can actually stand or walk more than 5-10 minutes at a time. You can easily see how going to Disney World with my family or even to the grocery store would be an issue. When Mexican Drug Lords are thanking our government for keeping marijuana illegal, maybe it's time to rethink the issue and start looking at all the studies that prove that Marijuana can indeed be a useful medicine.
