its not just dhs either the judges r just as bad one judge in Buchanan County gave my ex husband who hadnt seen or talked to our 2 boys but @20 times in 5yrs had child abuse charges in Marshall County n had a no contact order from the MPD for our safety for over a yr custody of our children because i lived in a 3 bdrm house with 2 of my gmas while taking care of one of them because one of my sons was sharing a room with me n that was not ok n my son was 6... n dhs took 2 other children from me @3 yrs later through alot of ******** lies n n hoops to me and at me when they had placed my babies 1 1/2 & 6mnths with thier grandparents they had all worked together n filed for custody of my babies but drug me along jumping through all their hoops going thru rehab 2 times doing drug testing just for the ***** from dhs Lisa Hammer to tell me the day before court that i never had a chance of getting my kids back she just wanted me to better myself...better myself? u mean self destruck...they need to be stoped -

Due to camping with a group of people and our camper not having running water.. Iowa DHS stated my daughter was a child in need of assistance due to "denial of critical care" SERIOUSLY!!!!!! I've never abused my child or let her go without!! Now I'm on a registry that has effected my life in every way possible. Something needs to happen. They are taking wonderful parents from innocent children.REPORT COMMENTS

It has been three years since our rights were terminated and our names expunged from their birth certificates.since our last visit we have faithfully called every other weekend and any time we get to see them we go.except now our kids call us by name and according to now adoptive parents that all 3 kids are home schooled never out of adoptive parents sight and a complaint was made to say older children being left to care for younger and our daughter can't do what most eight year olds can without a calculator it's bull I cry everyday at least once it's not rightREPORT COMMENTS

Cps and dhs have done me wrong put one of my kids with his bio donor and his background check would not have passed my son was forced away for 6 months from me and his siblings within that time I got clean and sober and continue this way but the bio donor got evicted has another kid on the way no vehicle and our child is medically needed on top. He had not been in my sons life for 5 years and had no clue how to handle our child with special needs. I finally got all my kids back but dhs is still forcing me to do major bs when I did everything and more while my son was placed in danger.REPORT COMMENTS

Iowa took my kids in 2010 saying it's because I signed over my right to my boys in 2007 in Missouri because I fell in a hard time in life andcouldn't care for them any more. My ex got CPS involved and they gave me the choice of signing over my rights or they would termination them. Didn't even give me a chance. I haven't had any problems with DHS at all from 2007 tillustrate CPS in Iowa came into my life. They took my kids even tho my house was clean, my kids where safe, and I finally had my life back together. They said it was because of my past and refused to work with me. On my last day of court the judge set there and told me how proud he was of me and he's never had anyone work as hard as I had but the fosterparents owned their own farm and their own company and they believe the kids will be better off and financially set with the fosterparents then me and terminated my rights. It's not fair. My rights where taken because I'm not rich or own my own house. How is that fair? I'm a good mom and was doing a awesome job. I have a lot of people that can back that up. My heart is broken. I haven't got to see my babies since they was 4 yrs old and almost 3 yrs old. Now they are 8 this month and the other one will be 7yrs old in September. I don't even know what to do anymore.REPORT COMMENTS

I have my own nightmare stories both as a child and as a parent. I won't get into details of either because what is another story of the obvious level of corruption inside DHS. They kidnap our children based on subjective "laws" and those same children are placed in dangerous environments and abused by dhs themselves! The cry for help from the parents and children (the real victims) is overwhelming and heartbreaking because it could happen to anyone. The misconception that you must have been doing something wrong to have your children taken from is a lie only people who have never been investigated themselves can say. So it makes me wonder what these lawmakers think..? I mean are they taught to ignore the outcries for help because it's normal behavior coming from guilty parents? Or maybe they have convinced themselves that kidnapping children is the answer here?Anyone who is accused by anyone of doing anything that could result in harm to a child is at risk of having their children kidnapped. To top it off, no proof is needed at the end of the day. These sick people pat themselves on the back at the end of the day probably.REPORT COMMENTS

I have not seen my oldest son in almost 10yrs cause dhs used my childhood against me and my mental health to terminate my rights. Now my middle son has told dhs his step dad hit him and did it cause he was mad at his step dad for grounding him from grandpa's that weekend and he is fa.cing charges still even though my son admitted it was a lie.REPORT COMMENTS

My rights have not been terminated YET, however the removal and adjudication were based solely on my history. I was clean for over 2 years and relapsed without my son being in the home...i didnt even use at home i went to a friends house and relapsed on a sat. my son was with his father and grandparents until monday when they took him to school. in the mean time dhs was called on me as well as my P.O. and they showed up Monday morning together. i admitted use and assured them my child was not with me and provided proof. he was to stay with my mother until i had it out of my system. (denial of critical care is even caring for a child with an illegal substance in your body.) I did everything i was supposed to do. there were no facts no evidence that he had been denied care in any shape or form. but DHS got the judge from my last case to sign a removal. He was taken from school and placed in a foster adoption home when my parents were ready willing and able to care for him. i was not asked about family placement they just went a head and put him there.now i fought the adjudication and despite there being being no evidence against me the judge ruled based on my past. he is now a CINA and although im fighting i feel like im up against the world here. I am in treatment and have a job i go to school. since they removed my son i feel like my life is pointless. I have used since they took him and they know about it i am honest and i told them. I know it sound stupid but considering the situation why not use they took my boy without reasonable cause. Also i have just been diagnosed with ADD so as it turns out amphetamines dont affect me like they do some addicts I am now prescribed them so does this make my chances any better at getting him backREPORT COMMENTS
