I know I've made mistakes and all I can do is keep pushing forward. But the way dhs here in Iowa goes about things is wrong! You do something good and they punish you by taking more and morefrom you until you have nothing. For a parent to only grr 2hrs a week with there almost 7 month old is cruel. Specially when your doing what is asked. Voices need to be heard! You try to speak up and it gets worse. They say they reunite families. Not hear in Iowa. Now I don't expect anyone to understand my story as I have tried to explain over and over again but in the end it doesn't do any good. I am a mother of four boys and have been a mom since I was 16 yrs old. I've always had my own home, I've always took care of my own children. Four months ago my children were just taken away from me, my lawyer didn't fight for me at all. I didn't even get to say a word and all in a blink of an eye my life was forever changed in a way that almost killed me. My children weren't use to being with anyone but mom and brothers. Dhs came into the picture and ruined our lives, took my children away from me, split siblings up all cause of who I was dating. It's not fair that they get to take my life from me and then control it. They are so quick to judge you just by the people who are around you. Last time I checked we do have constitutional rights, seems like any more we are guilty until proven innocent. In life, we all make mistakes all we can do is learn from them and try to help others from making the same ones. As I sit here and type this I'm thinking about my children and how miserable they are right now cause all they want is to be back home with mommy. My children were never in any type of danger, were always fed, clean, and loved to the full extent. My family did not deserve this. I thought dhs was here to help parent and families not destroy them. How can they go off hear say but never found proven facts.?REPORT COMMENTS

My children were taken from me when my ex husband was Founded for physical abuse and sexual abuse on my oldest child, so he turned around and made up false allegations against my boyfriend and I. My ex has custody of my youngest and my oldest is in foster care and they are unhappy and starting to act out negatively. I think something needs to be done very quick. There are many people having to go through this situation and probably shouldn't! The people with ps NEED to realize that one of their main points and ideas is to protect the children-sometimes when cps chooses to take over-they are actually doing the opposite! I don't know what to say about Iowa cps other than wrong, they make up there own laws and judges go with it. I use to live in Iowa I have seen many of my friends get there children taken by Iowa cps because somebody is mad at you and calls DHS( CPS) they don't investigation they come to take your child away. All the court systems in Iowa are FOUL, cps, traffic any court dealings they do what they want. When is our government going to change the power they give these people?? It don't matter how many family's they tear apart they continue to be allowed to do this. They are here taken kids away from parents that might need alittle help while little Emily is across town being sexual abused by her bother everyday, and little Emily is allowed to stay there with that abuse going on. What is wrong with that picture. When are the laws in Iowa going to change or these workers be fired and get new ones that go by the law not there rules.REPORT COMMENTS

I am the mother of 2 (soon to be 3) children. I have been guilty of using drugs as a form of escape. That?s in the past. My boys were removed from my care and placed with the one and only person who have made any allegations against me as a parent. While my boys have been away from me, I have completely turned my life around. It took a couple of do-over?s to find the job that I?m happy with but I found what I wanted and went for it. I got my driver?s license back, bought a car, got my own house, graduated drug treatment, I see a therapist for me and go to anger management classes with Ivan and most importantly I visit the boys as often as I am allowed to visit. Oh, and my bills are all up to date! It isn?t enough. I submit to random drug testing and am joyful to say that I am and will continue to be completely drug free. While in ?foster care?, my children have been traumatized by the lack of trust. I abide by everybody else?s rules and stipulations. I go to Jim and Wendy?s (when they don?t cancel) for visits. I bathe them, make them supper and I tuck them in for bed. These things you don?t do with your children in someone else?s home. But I will take whatever I can get. However, it kills me to know that at night when they cry, it?s isn?t because of monsters under their beds, they cry because know that?s when it is time for me to leave. Although I have made mistakes in my past and at certain times I have failed as a mother, I feel like I have learned many hard life lessons. Losing the boys is the hardest thing I have ever had to face. It?s been a little over a year and DHS has made little to no effort to reunite us as a family. Iowa has no problem with depriving mothers of their rights to raise their own children. I have limited access to my boys and that is often denied to me. I tell them I will see them tomorrow and I?m the one hurting them when I receive a text stating their plans have changed. I keep every thing documented. I am concerned about recent reports that suggest my children?s growth and development are suffering, while I am not included in any way, in matters relating to their health, welfare and education. I miss them so very much and all I want is to have them with me. I will never stop fighting for them. First I was told not to worry about it, it was basically a procedure that DHS was required to do after a child had been in care for a certain amount of time; however, they didn?t have enough negative things against me to have my rights terminated. Approximately two weeks later, this same DHS worker informed me that I wasn?t going to get the boys back because they now do have enough negative things against me to have my right terminated. My children and I have long been the victims of games DHS workers play. My boys and I are fed false hopes routinely. How can anything are being put through by DHS be considered ?CARE? and ?STABILITY?? I?ve met every stipulation DHS has set forth for me and they cREPORT COMMENTS

I agree that that I went to CPS department that I have dealt with anyway is worthless . I'm sorry but I have an extreme problem that when I call for help several times I get told that unless my kids are being physically beaten or abused they can't do anything . To me the emotional manipulation that my kids of gone through probably for outweighs any physical abuse I would hope they're not being subjected to but to go I was CPS emotional concerns don't matter and maybe that is why at least in my situation Council Bluffs is the way it is. But I feel we agree that something needs to be done because the manipulation and sadness and mist treatment of my kids at face and the lack of help out there in the mistreatment when you do call for help is just downright wrong. And another thing unless of the Aiken provide on-call help from people that don't have kids of their own in the background that they're so worried about though they need to get off the phone I guess the number one being an on-call hotline that's pretty pitiful if they can't handle their own family issues and separate themselves when they're being paid to do you so from their own family needs to help those that call for help I find a really big problem with that .REPORT COMMENTS

My rights were terminated they said due to me being sexually abused,and the death of my sister I was emotionally unable to parent my son. The way I see it in both cases I was the victim there was nothing I could have done to prevent these events from occurring. I wake up every day and face the loss of my sister as for my sexual abuse well I wasn't the one whom abused, it wasn't my issue it was my molesters.
