My son has been divorced for 31/2 yrs. and pays childsupport every since. The first of every year he recieved a bonus as to which he paid his ex 1500.00 lump also for child support. He lost that job the first of last year but now has papers that he still has to pay this amt. even if he is unemployed which he currently is. If this is not pd. by Feb. 1st he goes to jail......What should he do? She also wants his ph.calls and visitation stopped. He is a great Father and loves his 7 yr.old son more than anything . He lives with us because he cannot afford a place of his own. She is remarried and has a new baby girl and claims all she is doing is in the best intrest of the said minor child. Really!!!!!!!! He goes to therapy and said he has to lie because he is afraid of making his mommy mad. What should our son do? -

I had lost my daughter to DHS back in the 90's due to being 16 which says alot. A judge (mentioning no names) had previously to me having her had told me in his chambers that he would take my child from me if I ever got pregnant. He did. There were alot of untruthes said. I will admit to the things that are true but never to whats not. To shorten this up alot my daughter had projectile vomiting and was delayed. I had taken her to the Dr and it was said I needed to burp her more and I was also told I was feeding her to much. I never thought about getting another opinion. Both my daughter and I were in a foster home together. She ended up failure to thrive. I was blaimed for this. I never understood why she had the projectile vomiting or why or how I was at fault for the Failure to Thrive. I have had 4 other children sents my Daughter. I have raised the others with no problems. I was young still when I had them. I was reunited with my daughter a few years back and she lives where we do. Away from Iowa. yes I moved from Iowa partly due to the lose of my Daughter and never will return to live. My Daughter has had a baby boy recently( 4 wks). He was just hospitalized a week ago with having projectile vomiting. They had gone to the ped dr first and changed the formula. They went again and my Grandson projectiled in front of them and they said that was normal for a baby. My daughter and her husband didn't settle with that and went to a Hospital close to them. That Hospital said the same as the ped dr. After they were discharged from there they went strait to another hospital where they had seen him vomit again. They diagnosed him with Pyloric Stenosis. It is hereditary. The Dr that had diagnosed him told my daughter that is probably what she had. Moral to the story is DHS is quick to throw blame. If you know anyone going threw this tell them not to accept everything is fine when you feel its not. The young people need your help and guidance. Direct them not down them. The adults (DHS, Foster Parents, Adoptive Parents and even the Dr's never caught my daughters problems.REPORT COMMENTS

My Granddaughter was taken by DHS because They were all staying with other relatives until they got settled in to their new town. DHS called it Neglect. Even after they had a place of their own to live they invented reasons to keep her. CPS would not give me my Granddaughter even though I was fostercare certified in Colorda and Approved for Iowa's home study.. These people take parental rights away from people that have not commited or even been arrested for a crime. These people steal children. I don't know how Americans can let this happen.REPORT COMMENTS

ive been fighting dhs for nearly two years. they have made me take a polygraph an i passed it. then they had me take a syc. eval an was put into the lowest cart. possible for ever hurting a child. three months ago my step child came out an said she was coached by her step mom. which we have been saying since the beginning. they removed her for a month an said it was ok to let her move back in with them. not to mention the step mom broke court orders an its ok. all my wife an i have done is follow the rules. i've even been cleared by the courts not charged criminally. but dhs still trying to ruin my life an not clear my name. instead of getting to the truth now they are making us get a divorce. but no judge has ordered it. in team meets they all laugh about not trusting my step child dad an step mom. but they can destroy my family.REPORT COMMENTS

I have been through d.h.s. and im gonna not try to get in to any detail but they are corrupt. I think if they r gonna take ur kids they need to be without a doubt. I got my rights terminated from my three beautiful children.when they accussed me of abuse the first thing i could think of was taking a lie dectector test which i did. I know they say that they cant use those in court but they warned me before i took it that if i had any other results other than me being turthful they could arrest me on the spot! Huh well i had no doubt that i wasnt gonna past the lie director,and i did. I figured that whoever did this to my child who soon be in jail. No they took my kids away from thier mother and put her me on the child abuse registry. They r wrong they are not awlays right,and something needs to be done about it. P.S.- have u ever talk to someone that has grown uo in the system say that they gad a good childhood,and thats my beyond a reasonable doubt!!REPORT COMMENTS

My children were taken from their dad. I have been fighting solidly to get on my feet. It has been extremely difficult. I went from being a stay-at-home mom to trying to get on my feet since he left me. He took my children two days after being released from the psych ward, and I had no idea where they were. My children are now 2 years and 3 years old. They have both spent a birthday in foster care. I didn't get to see them. They live with their paternal aunt, and she tells DHS that my girls get mad and throw tantrums after phone calls and visits with me. I'm sure they do. They are confused. They miss me, and they don't understand why they can't live with me. All of mu phone calls were stopped, and my visits are limited to one supervised visit lasting no more than 2 hours per week. Their dad has the same visit schedule, and he's the one they were taken from. The only reason I was not able to get them is because when he broke up with me, he left me stranded in North Dakota. So I had to get back to Iowa. It took me 3 weeks to come up with the money. And when I got back, they wouldn't give them to me because I don't have my own house. So they are holding them based on that, but there are kids living in homeless shelters that DHS never bats an eye at...REPORT COMMENTS

This is happening in Washington state and every other state in the US...The damage that is being done by the so called "protectors" is severe and irreversible. IT MUST BE ADDRESSED AND CHANGED to protect our babies! EVEN with confirmed, proven child neglect issues the statistics say a child is 6 TIMES MORE LIKELY to suffer serious abuse in FOSTER CARE than at home. THIS COURT-NAPPING/KIDNAPPING MUST CEASE! I lost my children to foster care because of being homeless and having to move out of state to have shelter. I worked for 9 months to get stability and moved back. I am fighting tooth and nail to get them back and I'm infuriated that they are basing my case on rumors they've heard. They are trying to tell me who I can and cannot spend my time with and everything, even though the person I choose has nothing wrong with him, because he's younger and I met him on the internet, they judge because of the children's father who I also met on the internet. He was a bad man, that does not mean that I am bad or that I make bad choices, but DHS is not looking at it this way. If anyone can help with advice, I would certainly appreciate it.
