My name is Jamie Lynn sumpter I live in davenport ia . I lost my daughters five years ago. Their father was abusive to me then one day our little girl josslynn was crying non stop turned out to be colic he lost control got physical grabbed her being rough hurting her.I called police had him arrested never thought he would harm his own child but he did dhs got involved he did 7months in jail for child endangerment even though he was abusive I was angry he nput his hands on our little girl . he was remorseful for it he cried he felt ashamed that he harmed his loved ones. I allowed him to see the girls behind dhs back then we lost them worked with them for a year myself and family is devastated everyday the loss the heartbreak dhs even went to pay the father a visit stating he will never see his girls again. My mental state is at a major depressive disorder found out recently with this being a diagnosis. I truly believe when losing my sweet girls happened I became an emotional wreck This too harsh of a punishment myself and families lives are not the same please consider helping me god bless you!! -

My 2 month old daughter passed away and dhs took my two other kids there was an autopsy done and know known cause of death has been determined dhs has lied to me made false promises and continue to make me out to be a bad person even tho I've gone to councelling been put on anti depressants and gone to and gtaduated drug classes succesfully and they are making up lies about me so they don't have to give my kids back to me but instead give them to their father who is a 5 time felon with 6 drug charges on his record currently on probation and has no drivers license...I've never been in trouble always had a drivers license and i love my kids to death...what they are doing to my children is worse than child abuse...they are causeing thwm more mental emotional and physical problems than i ever have...I've beeen nothing but a loving caring mother and they're just trying to get paid off my kids..social workers drive by my house repeatedly everyday even when i don't have visits with my kids ive have to park my car in different places to avoid being harrassed...this is rediculous and needs to be stopped i would lovw to file criminal charges against dhs and familieas first but don't know how to go about doing it for fear they'll take my kids forever as punishment for going against themREPORT COMMENTS

My parental rights were terminated by CPS they (CPS,CINA,GAL,JUDGE) were all in bed with each other. I was attempting to be a good father mother purposely alienated me for 11 years of seeing my child. CPS has MULTIPLE like 6 times they could have removed my daughter and failed and finally when my babies mother made front page news with my daughter they take her and give her yet another case plan ong with me I completed my one item she could not I told them I will go home pack myself up and come back and do WHATEVER IT TAKES I LOVE MY DAUGHTER! I believe there should be better oversight and management of the cps agencies. I also believe more funding should be provided for family centered services and safety visitations by a 3rd party where children are allowed to stay in the family home with supervision as necessary by the safety team versus continuing to put so much money into foster homes, where the responsibility is that of a job and not maintaining family involvement but rather an income source.REPORT COMMENTS

Lost my husband to suicide, did some travels and stopped in Iowa after his death. Unfortunately I was manipulated Robbed and suspected I was drugged and thousands stolen out of bank... Life Insurance money. Instead of waking up in the bed where I fell asleep in I was found outside in a lot with no memory and clearly drugged. I was a victim of a crime and they took my son away making me remain in Iowa. I have done over and beyond what's been asked and they have lied not extending visit and not trying to return my son. Our family has been through enough. My son lost his father then they rip him from his momma. My rights have not been terminated yet but they have tried. I had to be my own facilitator/ lawyer. Dhs failed to have 10 exhibits I filled to the court. They where setting things up for me to fail since day one. I have completed complied and continue as asked. Something needs done in Davenport and Iowa in general about family services and Dhs. My son comes to visits to see me battered bruised and my reporting goes unnoticed and attended to even after calling Des Moines child abuse hotline. I've had no other incidents and addressed any issues I may have had due to my husbands tragic passing and stronger than ever. Please help us bring our children home. Please help us with the Cohesion and corruption and keep our families together. It effects all involved grandparents aunts uncles everyone. Bring our children home!REPORT COMMENTS

I have been told that Clinton Iowa is the worse city in Iowa when it comes to ripping families apart. They berated my daughter before each hearing, and before her lawyer got there. They continuously lied to my wife and myself. They set us up to fail on multiple occasions. These people need to be stopped now. My granddaughter was also removed from her mothers care by DHS on Dec. 17, 2015, when she was 14 months old .As of today, Apr.19, 2016, I do not know if the baby has been completely reunited with her mom, who has been drug free since 4/20/2010!! Long story short, this woman has jumped through all the hoops to regain custody, but the GAL flat out told her she would never get her baby back. I am going to trail Monday for TPR. My child is 2 has been removed along with brother 10 . They are terminating my rights to the two yr old. Her and her brother are very close and we all have very much a strong bond. This is devastating to us all. My DHS workers have been inappropriate and unorganized through out this whole ordeal. They always going back on their word and do a good job at making me look bad no matter how good I'm doing. I have declared if it's the last thing I ever do it will b to petition to change the laws pertaining to termination of parental rights. Is it not obvious to the entire world that there is a problem in the system pertaining to the removal of children from their home and the right to b raised by their God given parents or family members? After the removal of my children n eventual termination of my rights, I have since learned that dhs has taken advantage of someone who cannot afford her own attorney. That's how our kids get taken away forever. The departments all work together to provide an inaccurate portrayal of the parent in question. In my case I was actively attempted to admitt myself to a family treatment facility. After days of phone conversations I was told they would have a bed but dhs worker refused to agree to send my youngest to the treatment center to live with me while continuing treatment. She was 7 months old. That worker wanted me to wait 4-8 weeks for a bed to open closer to where the kids were. I discovered she had no right to tell me what treatment center to attend. I never made it to her recommended facility due to wait list n running out if time. The parents are only given 6 months to a year to straighten out their lives! I researched n the likelihood of an addict, being in treatment for the first time, ending in successful recovery within 6 mo to a year is rare. Very rare! These are the timeframes mandated by our government. I attended my first meeting in treatment, I was welcomed by statistics which say over 90% of addicts fail treatment plans and relapse after their first attempt at recovery. How can we only allow 6 month to a yr for the parents who continue to fight to recover. Relapse is expected! There is no allowance for failure once ur in the system. For my situation, once I was placed on abuse registery for drugs in my system and my daughter's at birth, I was now looking for a new career as well. I had worked in healthcare all my life n even obtained my practical nursing license. I worked as a nurse for a couple years then continued in private home care without renewing my license. But now I am no longer allowed to work in healthcare. I had to get treatment, find new line of work n juggle appointments, visits n the constant battle with foster parents not following thru with Dr appointments, therapy or even simple discipline between siblings. I actually had a judge declare my boys could not live together because the foster parent would not allow my oldest a safe place away from his brother to calm down. He actually, according to my son, antagonize them to hash it out themselves and pick on my oldest for becoming so upset. Court ordered not to live together! Seriously! I believe the timeframe of 6 mo to 1 year is a setup for failure before treatment even begins. Who can snap out of addiction, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, along with all the guilt n blame we put on ourselves. How could anyREPORT COMMENTS
