Horrible, horrible drug. I was given 2 rounds in 2007 and 2008, and all it did was cause more pain and suffering than ever. I still ended up having to have a total hysterectomy, and experienced permanent side effects such as hypercalcaemia, tooth loss, and pain that will never end. It's effected my entire life.REPORT COMMENTS

This medication is a nightmare. I've developed memory problems and fibromyalgia after one shot. I was hesitant to try it, it was pushed on me, and I'm still dealing with the consequences.REPORT COMMENTS

I was given Lupron injections to help retard the growth of stage 4 endo. I experienced weight gain, hot flashes and insomnia (just to name a few side effects) after stopping the treatments I started to experience a whole new list of side effects including severe cramping, headaches, and menstrual bleeding so heavy I could not control it and ended up going to urgent care more then once. This drug is absolutely horrific.REPORT COMMENTS

I was given Lupron in 2008 by my OB/GYN to see if I could "handle being without my ovaries" before my military doctor would do my hysterectomy. I literally couldn't hold a conversation within days of taking it. It's 2013 and I'm not able to work due to my memory problems. It frightens me how bad I get sometimes. I've forgotten important information time and again, even about my children. This drug has not been tested enough or labeled enough to be used by doctors like it was on me. I live a nightmare and I don't know when it's going to end.REPORT COMMENTS

I was put on this medication for a year by the VA MC. I reported a variety of severe symptoms, including bone loss resulting in 4 breaks in my pelvis after a fall. I experienced cardiac, endocrine, muscular skeletal, and cognitive side effects. None of my doctors put it together with the medication. Now, I am back on it again for a 3 month "bump". All of the side effects are starting again with severe back, hip, and joint pain as well. Doctors are NOT informed of the side effects and NOT properly educating patients due to that ignorance.REPORT COMMENTS

My daughter (now 28) took lupron at her OB GYN's request to slow down endometriosis. She took these shots for 2 or more years and he said that it would not hurt her. She has had numerous health issues. CPK shot up to 15,000 (which is dangerously life threatening and they were worried she would have renal failure), She was put to bed for a week and it took about 2 weeks to get her CPK down to where it needed to be, severe leg swelling, fluid retention, unexplained rapid weight gain, and then unexplained rapid weight loss, joint and bone pain. severe migraines, still endometriosis, and has now been told that she has disc dehydration and she is in severe pain. We have been to Emory, Shands, Mayo Clinic, Agusta, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee. All Dr.s agree there is something wrong and they will get to the bottom of it. Well, they run a few test and respond with "well we know there is a problem but we don't know what it is" and then there done. I mention Lupron, and they say "I don't think so." I'm frustrated, it tears me up to see my daughter in so much pain and I can't do anything about it. She is 28 and has no quality of life. All of this started with the Lupron shots. They should be banned and patients should be reinbursed and there medical bills payed for.REPORT COMMENTS

I had Lupron shots for a year, I started getting joint pain about a month after I stopped getting the shots. I never had joint pain like this before. I just found out I have osteoarthritis in almost all my joints. some places worse than others. it helped my pelvic pain, but this arthritis pain is unbearable. so, my opinion, this shot isn't worth the pain your in after it's all said and done.REPORT COMMENTS

I think I'm in the minority of all the signatures when I say that Lupron helped my endometriosis immensely and I don't seem to be having life changing side effects apart from occasional sciatica that originated from a misplaced injection. However, I believe this medication needs at bare minimum a black box warning about the other potential side effects so people can make an informed decision.REPORT COMMENTS

After receiving Lupeon for pelvic pain, my gallbladder became inflamed and I had to take it out. After my first shot, my whole body was in horrible pain, so I was given another antidepressant in a small dose to help. Now after my last three month dose of lupron, I got a full body rash and every single joint in my body swelled up and is extremely painful. This medication is horrible!!! And on top of it my doctor didn't tell me about all of these side effects. This should be banned!!!REPORT COMMENTS

My husband was diagonosed with prostate cancer in 2012. Had a radical prostatectomy and injection of Lupron. Had no pain or anything when diagnosed with cancer. After the surgery and Lupron, he is depressed, lost all strength in his body, constant fatigue, no rest during the night, pain in his bones and muscles, etc. etc. He has always been a big strong guy and is reduced to tears about this ongoing nightmare. He says that he regrets having any medical intervention and wishes he had let the cancer take its course. On top of everything else, the shot cost $4,000. It was paid by insurance but the company that made it is going to make many more millions before the FDA or congress does anything about it!REPORT COMMENTS

I am 31, and on shot two of a six month treatment. I lost my job because I caught an upper-repertory virus not long after shot one. My memory is starting to go. The suicidal thoughts are constant. I am too exhausted to shower every day. My back and hips hurt more than ever. I feel worthless and broken, and I don't know if I'm ever going to get better. I have isolated myself. I no longer have any drive physically and mentally. I feel sorry for my boyfriend who is having to support me though this, because I know he has to be at his wits end. It has ruined our relationship.REPORT COMMENTS

In 1996 I received Lupron injections for 6 months. The purpose was to shrink a fibroid tumor so it could be remove by way of vaginal hysterectomy. My ovaries were not removed but my hormones have been out of balance ever since (17 years). I have been on hormone replacement for many years and have tried numerous times to wean myself off but have been unable too. Besides dealing with hot flashes I experience symptoms of a bladder infection that gets worse on a daily basis, until I start hormone therapy again. Dr's want to put me on a "mild" antidepressant- which I refuse to do. They say a small dose may relieve symptoms.REPORT COMMENTS
