I took Lupron a few years ago - and became almost crippled for about a year. The bone/joint pain was non-stop and completely wore me out and broke me down. My life is still affected by all that happened as many doctors kept telling me- "these are not known side effects" and "we don;t know what's wrong with you." I was given NO pain management assistance.REPORT COMMENTS

My mother had Lupron treatments 20+ years ago, and has been suffering from problems similar to most others on this list ever since: severe joint pain, prevalent cysts, memory loss, restless legs, degenerative disc disease, low metabolic rate, etc.. I am abhorred by the lack of research into the long term effects of this drug - which clearly has horrific potential.REPORT COMMENTS

I took Lupron beginning in March of 2009, and experienced most of the common side effects, hot flashes, diminished sex drive, etc. and nine months later I had open heart surgery. I have read about the possible connection of Lupron with heart disease, and am concerned that the drug may have contributed to the exacerbation of my heart disease. My EKG has not been normal since before my open heart surgery. Every time I get an EKG they think I am having a heart attack! I have to convince them that this was the way it has been since before my surgery.REPORT COMMENTS

No. I dont want it. Found out a month later he gave it to me anyway when unexplained issues came up. Blisters on my skin that still come up when i get in the sun.!!! Stop!!! Dont take this drug. I found out 3 years later i didnt even have endo. Dr. Was completely incompetent.REPORT COMMENTS

I was treated with Lupron for endo--something I suffered from for nearly two decades. Once relatively fit and certainly a go-getter, I have deteriorated to a shell of myself pre-lupron; the bone/joint/muscle pain is akin to being set on fire at times is the best way for me to describe it. There are morning, particularly when it is cold & damp, that it requires all that I am to get out of bed due to the pain being so severe. Only narcotics alleviate the pain. I am a mother of young children, so, such is rarely an option for me. My vision has deteriorated quite significantly, headaches that I never experienced before, fatigue that compares to that accompanied by a flu, and edema at times that makes my lower limbs feel as though they have been suddenly pumped full of water. Despite the "treatment" a hysterectomy was required. I would not wish what I go through as a result of the Lupron on my worst enemy.REPORT COMMENTS

This drug has destroyed my life. Doctors only tell you the side effects will bring you through menopause, they do not tell you all the other horrible stuff. Like you feel you are going crazy, joint pain, bad stomach pain, leg pain, not able to walk, depression, cramps, constipation, you name it I got it. It is now costing me a fortune going to alternative medicine doctors trying to get rid of the toxin's in my body. Please take this drug off the market and stop killing people!REPORT COMMENTS

Lupron has destroyed both my physical and mental health. If I had only known that I would still be suffering the affects of this drug 20 years later, I would never have taken what my Doctor assured me was a safe drug. Guess he was wrong.REPORT COMMENTS

I was on Lupron in 2007, and my body went into a pregnancy state and my breasts filled with milk. I was taken off and had a hysterectomy in October 2007. I was only 27 years old, and had no children. Since that time, I have had degenerative disk in my neck, and had to have screws and plate put in my neck. Also have chronic migraines, and have had internal shingles three times, once shutting my bladder completely down. I have to use a catheter to go to the bathroom. It is now 2013 and I am still miserable and not able to work or get any type of aide....my life is a total disaster.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a two time breast cancer patient and survivor given lupron depot injections to halt estrogen production, as my cancer was ER positive. Horrible and numerous side effects included but were not limited to: debilitating bone, muscle and nerve related pain, neuropathy in hands, memory loss, anxiety and insomnia. I stopped taking the drug after 1 year into a five year course of treatment and opted for a total hysterectomy and removal of my ovaries. It has been months since my last injection and debilitating side effects have persisted. This drug is awful....bottom line. FYI... I am NOT a complainer or a whiny blogger. I would like to make that clear. I also have a deep appreciation for the Docs and the medications and treatments that have twice saved my life. Lupron is NOT one of them.REPORT COMMENTS
