i am 17 years old and have endometriosis, i started the lupeneta pack about a month ago. Ever since i stared it i have been very ill i can not walk nor stand. I am in terrible pain in my pelvic area and it will not go away. I also can not urinate at all. i have been to the emergency room 10 times in the last month because of the side effects. The worst side effects are my muscle spasms i can not stop shaking, it also has been making me have terrible anxiety. My GYN never said anything like this would happen she said that the only thing people complain about are the hot flashes. This medicine is terrible and i advise no one to take it! no matter what they say. -

Im suffering from the effects of lupron over 20 years after receiving it. Severe bone and joint pain, migraines, fibromyalgia and neurological symptoms. Thyroid and osteoporosis. I was never warned. Too many people are reporting the same thing to be a coincidence. Something needs to be done.REPORT COMMENTS

I firmly stand behind the need for further investigation. As a former Lupron patient at the age of 19, currently 27, I suffered significantly during the 4/6 scheduled injections and continue to have long-term side effects. Please take everything every person here has stated to heart before allowing this demon drug into your or a loved one's body.REPORT COMMENTS

I took Lupron through 2 cycles of IVF. I believe this study is necessary and details should be clearly disclosed to all who are prescribed it.REPORT COMMENTS

Lupron has helped me with pain, however I feel like I would rather have pain than all these side effects. I just had the shot a little over a month ago and I have terrible back pain, severe aniexty and depression, severe fatigue and night sweats. If I could just get the depression and anxiety under control I would be ok.REPORT COMMENTS

I was prescribed Lupron for fibroids/enlarged uterus prior to hysterectomy. It was supposed to make the surgery less invasive being able to do it robotically, rather than traditional surgery. I was never informed of any side effects other then hot flashes. I suffer from joint pain and muscle weakness and am concerned about my future health. Please check into this drug and stop prescribing it so individuals can have a better quality of life.REPORT COMMENTS

I was prescribed Lupron Depot for endometriosis pain. I voiced concerns to my doctor but he assured me that the only sever side effects were hot flashes. Hot flashes were not terrible at all, but there were so many other things. My mood swings were so severe people were actively watching me to ensure I didn't try to harm myself. Also, there were days I was unable to walk or use my hands because of joint pain. And, although I was so tired I could barely shower or clothe myself, I also stopped sleeping, which only exacerbated the other symptoms. I discontinued the shot after only THREE months because of the severity of side effects. Only then did my doctor acknowledge that other side effects were possible. It had been approximately one year since I discontinued the shots and I still have constant joint pain, difficulty sleeping and occasional hot flashes. Why is this drug still prescribed for endometriosis when there is so little documentation on it? Doctors are giving this to patients because they know so little about the disease and it is causing long term effects while never helping with the disease it is prescribed for. It should not be on the market for endometriosis at all.REPORT COMMENTS

Was prescribed lupron in combination with letrozol following chemotherapy as treatment for recurrent breast cancer. Was able to continue to work during the chemo, however the very first injection of lupron jas handicapped me. Muscle weakness, joint pain had literally paralazed me. 44 years old ,i cannot walk o stand or even sit straight. Cannot clime a few steps on the stears without having a heart attack. Cannot think straight. Needles to say cannot work. But the most devastating thing about all of it that my symptoms are ignor ed d or downplayed by the physician that insists on continuation of treatment even if the other options are avalable. It makes me doubt my sanity and feel that I scream in pain all alone.I have trusted my oncologist who had given me the option to take the lupron or die of cancer. He would refuse to prescribe the tamoxifen and blocked me crom ovarectomy. As a result i have lost my job and my medical insuranse and all hopes to survive with it. Stop this drug .I does not save lives, it takes them!REPORT COMMENTS

Destroyed my body, mind a spirit! I never had a panic attack or anxiety prior to taking this drug. Now I deal with both on weekly basis. Severe joint pain is also something I've been left with. Doctor thought Lupron was a good idea to diagnose endometriosis. Turns out I don't have endometriosis...REPORT COMMENTS

Dec 6th, 2015Someone from Peoria, IL writes:
The official Lupron side-effects are badly understated. First of all, ANYONE taking this drug should first have a mandatory baseline physical, including a full lab work-up to include baseline hormone levels, liver profile and cholesterol. These levels should be monitored at least quarterly. For usage by men, the stated side-effects should include the following warnings. 1) By reducing male hormones to very low levels by the end of the first month of usage, the user WILL experience rapid loss of libido and sexual function. This will continue for several months post-treatment. 2) The dramatic loss of testosterone WILL cause hot flashes in most men. In some cases these may be intense and frequent (more than once per hour, thereby inhibiting sleep and causing discomfort during the day. This will continue for several months post-treatment. 3) The dramatic loss of testosterone WILL lower your metabolism and, unless under a highly restrictive diet, cause significant weight gain. This weight gain may be difficult to lose post-treatment. 4) The unnatural change in hormone balance may cause breast growth in some men, which will be accentuated by weight gain. 5) The rapid and unnatural change in hormone balance may cause significant joint pain. 6) The change in hormone levels may cause a substantial increase in cholesterol levels unless one maintains a very careful diet. 7) Lupron may cause liver damage. All users should have an established liver profile before starting use of this drug and be retested at least quarterly for the duration of usage. Lupron users should abstain from ALL alcohol usage while on this drug. 8) Lupron users should have a baseline testosterone level before starting therapy, and a post-treatment test six months after that last shot times out. 9) Lupron users may experience depression, a feeling of malaise, loss of energy and stamina, and, if continuously using for more than a year, bone loss. 10) The effects of Lupron will take several months to even start wearing off. One should expect at least six months post treatment for most of the effects to reach low levels. Lupron may have a place in the arsenal of drugs to combat cancer and other ailments, but the officially listed side-effects are a serious underrepresentation of commonly experienced side effects.REPORT COMMENTS
