The Marines are losing many good men to the Army... just because this policy... Absolutly rediculous! My husband wanted to re-enlist and cant because of the tattoo policy... something needs to change!REPORT COMMENTS

I've always been grateful for my luck to be a United States Citizen and have always had a strong passion to become a United States MARINE. Unfortunately the revamp to the USMC tattoo policy have left me disqualified from entering at the time. I have undergone memorable sessions of laser tattoo removal in the last months and still scheduling for others. I'm currently clearing up any defaults I have and get myself to be a prime candidate in my future aspirations to be a valuable asset to the military. I have been trying to go MARINES for the better part of a Year and change. I just want to state how demeaning for the military this policy has portrait the corps, there's people with good hearts and strong minds that have a tattoo with limited visibility who would do anything for their country. I have buried a good amount of friends and family this year with one being USMC Sergent Martin Kendrick II, He was and is my best friend who never steered me wrong. Sergent Kendrick showed me what loyalty to family and country really meant. His displays of Honor Courage and Commitment to his beliefs let me know that I am capable of much more. Few people have the heart and drive I feel to serve this country as a MARINE. I'm asking for assistance in my relentless attempt to become a Recruit Boot Camp. Where my teamwork and skills acquired can be used appropriately. I have no racist, sexual, or any offensive tattoos, I want to be one of the defenders of Freedom and this is my calling. I feel it.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a PC crap. Get with it. A tattoo has nothing to do with courage or the ability to follow orders. If the best you can do is to suppress and discriminate against the troops, maybe the military needs to be functional without congress. It is apparent that the congress is failing in so many ways.REPORT COMMENTS

If the rule is no sleeves after this date...then fight it. I won a decision against NYPD by using the law "equitable estopple" which means....once the game starts you can't change the rules ! Semper FiREPORT COMMENTS

This is as stupid as when the Army Chief of Staff, General Shinseki decided that everyone in the Army needed to wear black berets, like the Rangers. The thinking being that the berets would give everyone in the Army the same esprit de corps and leadership as the Rangers. If a Marine is an outstanding leader, as shown by his service record, what effect does the tattoo have, if it met regulations when applied. Somewhere in the military, we should have at least one leader who has the guts to stand up for what's right, not just for what will get him promoted. If a leader cannot honor a policy going down the chain, how can he expect respect to go up the chain! Our senior commissioned officers, as well as our senior NCO's now, have all lost contact with what leadership is. The stupidity to believe that a hat, or presence of a tattoo, has any outcome on leadership ability, is criminal!REPORT COMMENTS

What the hell does Tattoo?s have to do with protecting our Country? These men and woman sacrifice their lives so we can live in a free country, but yet the same people they are protecting want to put stupid restrictions on having tattoos! My god, with all the Corruption and unfaithful politician we have here in America I feel this is the most ridicules policy ANY Military service division should enforce! WAKE UP people, I am sure you have much more important things to think about and do! Why in the hell would you want to restrict who may or may not join the service, restrict them on their accomplishments just for having tattoos? You really need to think about the percussions of this stupid rule!REPORT COMMENTS
