Why is it that people can collect pensions from private sources and their Social Security payments won't be effected. But if you collect a measly PERS pension, your Social Security can be cut in half? If you paid into both systems, you should receive the full benefits of both. But heaven forbid hard working educators and civil servants receive only what they are owed and will need to maintain a minimal standard of living. My Father worked until the day he died at 71 in the private sector and in the US Army during the Korean war. My mom was a dedicated teacher for 25 years who was crippled finanacially by this GPO garbage. My mom gets a cruel $89 per month for my fathers Social Security. Does that seem fair? She was his wife for just 45 years after all and he never took Security. That means he paid into Social Security for roughly 53 years. Less than $1200 per year for her to live on as she moves into her later years. Thanks, Social Security, for the back handed slap in the face to my father, a veteran, a giver, and a loyal husband all his life. Well maybe it was designed to punish those terrible teachers in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. If not, some one please explain why this has not already be repealed!!!! Please sign this petition. Fire Fighters, Police, and Teachers should not be punished like this.REPORT COMMENTS
