Yes I agree this really needs attention from our President and our Congress. I've paid my debt to society of an honest mistake and only mistake in my life and I cant get a job to support my family! Yet we as America continue to get taxed and we're supporting issues over seas everyday. What about the everyday issues here in America; the Free. The FREE did I say Freedom? It certantly doesn't seem this way! Employers don't care if it was 10, 15 or even 30 years ago. All they see is that it's on your record and you will be denied employment rather you were innocent or guilty and you had no money for an attorney! I sometimes don't feel like a US CITIZEN in this Country! It's an embarresment!REPORT COMMENTS

This is also the case for Federal Misdemeanors. I was convicted 17 years ago for petty theft of a $3 item and will live with this forever.REPORT COMMENTS

To punish a young person for making an often naive, stupid mistake for life is ignorant and shows the desire of our government to hold these young people down and not allow them the opportunity to become productive citizens in our country, paying taxes and giving back to society. 1st time felons should have the ability to wipe this off their records unless it is a crime of great violence.REPORT COMMENTS

17 years old I made a huge mistake. And now 25 years later I'm still paying my debt. I would like a chance at a normal life. Just like those who commit the same or worse crimes and have the money to pay their way out.REPORT COMMENTS

We Deserve Our Lives Back.com, Sincere Seven, and thousands more are building momentum in support ills HR 2449 and HR 2065. Mr. Sensenbrenner, returning citizens have served their time and to continue to discriminate against them (housing, student loans, jobs, etc.) is inhumane. They did the crime and served the time; they deserve their lives back. Tell us how we can support you in leading theses bills into law in 2012. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

The words of encouragement extended to Mike Vick , that you believed in second chances meant to much to many as they too are waiting for their second chance to make a difference in America , by being able to self support themselves , and their families. they common sense thing of passing this bill does not cost America anything but only would invest in our citizens giving them second they have earned. Thank you for your support.REPORT COMMENTS
