This is a truly devastating problem for families where a qualified member makes a mistake and cannot go back to work. It is good that God does not do this to us. We all can make mistakes thank God for forgiveness. Violent crime is a different matter of course.REPORT COMMENTS

A bill like this is important for America. It should have been passed years ago, we are hurting ourselves by removing good people from the workforce and forcing them to deal with a hopeless situation. Why should people even try to be law-abiding contributing members of society if we insist on grinding them into the dirt for an old mistake from the past, which was non-violent and was paid for long ago? I don't have a felony conviction, but I can understand how it could happen to even a good person and I don't like the permanent punishment concept. It fails to do any good. I expect our congressmen and congresswoment to look at this bill and recognize how much good it will do our country, I plan to contact my congressman - Mr. Bobby Scott, and Mr. Rangel - the author of the bill - and ask them why this bill is still not a law yet.REPORT COMMENTS
