i do believe in some cases ,they should get a second chance to make ammends,,but it determines what they have commited and if its somethng that can casue harm to someone after they get that second chance..i think that would have to gone over very carefully ..please seek out these resolutions to these and then determine if they need that second chance.child molesters and abusers should have to pay dearly ..they know right from wrong.and to hirt another person and a child is very worng..so give them the mamimum sentence.if needed.may god have mercy on their souls for commiting such crimes..but i do believe in second chance and that would have to be decided carefully

Because is so difficult for a person to get a job with a Criminal Record, is there a job training program in Orlando Florida, where I can go to help myself and later on to get a Job with the help of this Program.?

Many of those incarcerated are there for lesser infractions of the law. A great many due to poor adolescent judgement. It is well known that prison does not rehabilitate. Out great nation was not founded on such archaic principals. As Human beings we will be held accountable for injustices.

Please support this bill. It is of great benefit to all of us if citizens who want to contribute to society after they have paid their debt be allowed to do so. Dooming them to a life of probable poverty is cruel. It is also likely to encourage recidivism.

How is it that we can extend pardons and offer second chances to terrorists who have committed far greater crimes and yet we do not afford the same considerations to US citizens? The individuals we are talking about in this petition are parents, children, Americans. I feel we owe them a chance to make amends, to move forward.

Please support this bill. Too many good people who have a lot to contribute to society are having their lives ruined by the stigma of a federal rap. Supporting this bill is the only way forward. It's the logical and right thing to do.

Non Violent first time ex felons should not have to pay for their crimes the rest of their life. Especially young offenders. They have take responsiblity for their crime and just want a chance for a better life. I would hate to think that one mistake I made would deny me the chance to be all I could be especially if I was a teenager when I made that mistake. We all do stupid things when we are young. Fortunately mine did not take away opportunities for the rest of my life.

It's like the permanent kind of punishment dispensed back in some places with sharia laws. If a thief steals a loaf of bread, he gets his hand cut off, which permanently wrecks his ability to work and earn a living, among other things. If we were a just society, we would mete out due punishment to a convicted individual, make him provide restitution, serve his sentence, then let him get on with his life and be a productive, law-abiding citizen.

The continued stigma faced by people who have paid their debt to society is shameful. If we as a society feel that these non-violent offenders should suffer a life sentence, then the laws should support that. Without this cost-free and no-risk legislation, many thousands of Americans suffer under life-long extra-judicial punishment in the form of de-facto unemployability. Please allow these potentially productive Americans the opportunity to contribute fully to our nation's success.

I'd respect if this attempt is extended to the states! As the reality of people who fit the petions sentiment are many in the States. People also need to be challenged to educate themselves to be rehabilited. For the reason for their respectives offences is directly related to their level(s) of education, and their abilities to provide and support for themselves, etc. Life skills is also a vital component in the habilitation of citizens which socities desire for their citizens. We'd enjoy a better quality of life. Peace and Love; Sharmalee A. Gales

There are plenty of people who don't deserve chances. But there are a lot who do as well. We spend so much time and money trying to rehabilitate people... doesn't that mean there's always a chance that people can change? Or that mistakes could be made over and over again. Yet people can make it right. Whatever, I have no idea what I'm saying because it's 2am.

Please "HELP" !!! I'm one that really needs this bill to pass I have been granted FEDERAL STUDENT LOANS for both of my degrees and I'm unable to pay them back due to my Felony conviction of misappropriation of bank funds that happen nearly twenty years ago. I have since then completed my BA and my MM in Music education but I'm not able to teach due to my conviction. How can I afford to pay back what you gave to go to school? I can't and I'm stuck with FEDERAL STUDENT LOANS that I will never be able to pay back... PLEASE HELP!!
