Owe 100,000+ in student loans and does not get me anywhere in the workplace as no employer thinks UoP is a true program.

I owe over $80,000 in student loan debt for a BSCJ degree which I am not using at all! This is ridiculous! No job placement assistant! My wife worked there and she said that they are all about the enrollments!

Never any job placement assistance. Can't believe they are not accredited. Have to research this further. No wonder I am having a hard time finding a suitable job that would help me pay back the monstrous debt accrued from obtaining my B.S. and M.B.A. ..

I decided to go back to school after having my son for an accounting degree. I started at the University of Phoenix, and the classes are way to easy to even be a college class. I am almost done with my first year, and I want to transfer to the University of Houston, because I want to change my major, and I have read many negative things about University of Phoenix. University of Houston does not accept credits from University of Phoenix, and many other Universities does not as well. This shows that the University of Phoenix is not a good school. The entire year was a waste, and I have over 12,000 dollars in student loans.

I am a single mother who decided to go back to school. My child at the time was 2 years old. I was excited to join UOP because not only was I able to continue working to support my child, their evening class was conducive to my schedule. The amount I paid at UOP, I could have attended a more reputable university like University of Baltimore or University of Maryland. I feel like I am stuck and cannot finish my undergrad because UOP gauged all my student loan money. It's frustrating. I just want to complete my education. Congress please hear our pleas.

I received a degree from U of P and was not able to land a job. Ultimately I ended up going to a community college because my u of P credits wouldn't even transfer anywhere. I had to start all over and am still $40,000 in debt from U of P.

I have 138,000 in debt from this school and haven't been able to get a job with it at all. I am a poor white girl who just wanted to better herself and instead I racked up a bunch of debt because I felt I had to keep attending in order to not pay my loans back because I live paycheck to paycheck and have a family to support. I was also told it was an accredited school so I think this debt should be written off my credit. This school doesn't even help graduates with job placement. The instrutors always tell you to refer to the syllabus if you don't understand something and it is very vague most times. I wouldn't recommend this school to others I am sorry I invested so much time and energy into something so pointless. I have 2 Masters Degrees but haven't even been able to get a job using them.

This school is the biggest rip-off ever. All loans should be forgiven and the school shut down.

I hold degrees from this college and it's true. Employers don't count it. I'm currently over my head and would love to give the worthless degrees back and cancel the debt. It's running my life.

i attended university of phoenix and was told that they were fully accredited. I finished only to learn that the degree was useless I wanted so bad to better my families future. I am so disappointed that I wasted my time. Pain sweat and tears were put into a degree that wont even get me a foot in the door with employers. I hope that this school and its orbiting schools are disbanded closed or held accountable. Please help as we are all drowning in debt.

I attended Apollo, Axia and University of Phoenix and acquired a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. I have sent out 169 resumes. Knock down doors, joined every website and applied in several counties but have still to this day never found a job to be able to use my degree. I was promised over and over again that if I just kept going to school and taking out those loans that I would be able to find employment so easy in my field. Interestingly, they enroll everyone without regard to age, but I was 56 when I graduated and I feel they should have told me that age would be a big factor in my field. I couldn't even find an Internship,("We really prefer to hire people that will have the stamina to keep up" What are they thinking? What am I at 55, old and washed up? If that's truly a factor didn't UOP have a contractual obligation to mention that before I am left with $100,000.00 student loans and no job to pay them? Sincerely Unemployed, Vicki Kenefsky

After losing my jo. Due to the market instability in 2008 I inquired to the university of pheonix about a career in the medical field. I was told by the counselors that the medical field was in high demand and would be a great opportunity for stability. I first went for medical administration associates of the arts. When I was finished with that I was told if I move quickly into my BS I would defiently be able to begin. A great career with many opportunities. I was unsure what my path was but was told because I had some previous exprience as a volunteer with my local VFD I could qualify to get my degree in medical administration with concentration in emergency management. That sounded exciting. I moved forward with this degree with high expectations that my online degree would be an employable attribute. As I finished my degree I starting applying for employment and found my degree wasn't worth the paper printed on as many employers wanted exprience which I had 0 in healthcare. After an entire year I landed a customer service Intake job for a durable medical equipment company making ten dollars an hour. A far cry from my previous job I was laid off from in the factory making 14.95 an hour. I took this job to hopefully get my foot in the door and within a year I've moved to CSR position making a bit more but unfortunately no where near the type of money it will take to pay the extremely large student loan payments. I feel overwhelmed and unsure where to turn,I can't even go back to school for a nursing degree (which is what I really wanted from the begining , however I needed to work while going to school and raising a family) as I have found out I have used all my undergraduate money to even redirect my opportunities. I spoke with someone within my company that said my degree wasn't even considered for my employment. Very frustrating. Feel like I'm drowning in debt and my famiky is suffering now as my kids are apply for college and I have 60,000 in student loans myself!

Chose to use this school as their online program seemed to fit my schedule and needs at the time, as I worked full time throughout my entire time in school. Though I did feel that the advisors were friendly and supportive, they were also pushy and seemed to want to rush me from my Associates program directly into the Bachelor's program. I was told by many officials in my state that my teaching license would not be valid and that I wouldn't be able to student teach with hardly any schools in Alabama (I called over 30 school districts myself before asking for support from UOPX- each school told me "no"). Without student teaching, I was told by my ever changing UOPX advisor, I couldn't graduate or even get through my first year, let alone have a classroom one day. Now I am left with copious amounts of debt and nothing to show for it. I have an Associates degree that I can do nothing with and debt that puts not only myself but my family in a tight financial spot. The one thing I did to better myself turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life and now I am, literally, paying for it.

Looking back at it now seems to good to be true. The initial recruiter seemed to be more of a salesman and rushed me through the process. 4 years later with my earned UOP Bachelors degree in IT, I am no closer to landing a higher position within my company than I would have without the degree. I hate to admit but I may have wasted my time and put myself in a worse position than started with this over 10K debt!

Even with a Bachelor degree in Psychology, I am no closer to a job in the mental health industry then I was before entering UOP. Potential employers do not recognize my UOP degree as creditable.

Shameful. I was advised I didn't need a high school diploma to enroll and could earn one while earning a degree in Business. It wasn't until I tried to transfer that I was told I would have to repay all my loans back because I had committed fruad. I've never been in trouble. I was not aware that you could not accept Financial Aid without a high school transcript. Shameful theses people are.

Hello, I graduated from the UOP about four years ago. First I earned ( and I say earned because I worked my tail off in each and every course) my Associates degree in Psychology. Directly after completing my Associates Degree I transitioned into the Bachelor program and earned my bachelor in Human Services Management. As many others stated in regaurd to their experiences with UOP, I too feel this institution is a scam. Many working adults turn to this form of schooling as a means to juggle work and family. It's very disheartening to walk away from this grueling schooling, as those who have been through the program know who much work is involved... Only to be left with huge amounts of debt and little to no career advancements due to the UOP's shortcomings stemming from accreditation issues and various other false practices. I am lucky that I am still employed with the company I have been with for several years, but like many, trying to transition into the career that my degree supports, has been next to none with opportunities. This is because organizations do not view UOP as a reputable source. So like others, my story involves 60,000 in student loans , which will take me years and years to pay off, not to mention my loan went from 324 a month to now 390.00. Please, lets pass action for student loan forgiveness and her students out of debt.
