JUST HOW MANY SUICIDES BY PEOPLE THAT SUFFER FROM INTRACTABLE CHRONIC PAIN THAT ARE BEING DENIED OPIOID PAIN MEDICATIONS BY "THEIR" MD'S BEFORE YOU REALIZE WHAT A F**KING MONSTER THE SO-CALLED "GUIDELINE" ISSUED BT THE "CDC" IN THEIR MARCH 15, 2016 "MORBIDITY and MORTALITY WEEKLY REPORT" HAS CREATED??? SOMEBODY AND SOMETHING SMELLS LIKE FIVE(5) DAY OLD "FRESH" FISH AT 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE! "GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, AND for THE PEOPLE". HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! WAFJ.

I'm one of those people who was accused of "scrounging around for drugs" when I asked why my pain meds were no longer considered necessary. The accusation was not only unfounded, but now I must suffer because these same doctors have stated that since they cannot "see" my pain, that I'm pretending in order to get some drugs. I have multiple documented medical conditions that can easily be proven, but these "doctors" refuse to listen. Shame on them.

My little brothers entire world is extreme pain from the time he wakes until the time he attempts to fall asleep. We have hit the proverbial wall with doctors and specialists, scared******less to medicate him enough to make his pain even remotely tolerable. I know if something doesn't change we will lose him

Today my pain management specialist cut my medication in a preemptive attempt to satisfy the 100mg equivalent or less that the DEA wants. All this does is take you from a semi functioning member of society and turn you into a non functioning person. It's sad and wrong. Every person has a right to proper pain control. And it's supposed to be "first do no harm". Today my dr told me what I could use instead was dirt, air and water. What a joke. Do people really think we chose to have these horrible painful conditions.....I would gladly, and happily trade my life for someone's who has no painful medical issues. I hope every person wanting to take away pain control falls off a ladder and breaks their back......gets hit by a drunk driver......suffers a permanent injury due to malpractice etc.....let them go to the hospital and be offered and asprin. Let them never be able to perform their job/career again and so not be able to support their family. I'd love to watch their downward spiral into depression due to their general medical situation and be turned away at every attempt that would have helped them become a functioning member of society again because they took it away. They deserve it. I would do anything to have my life back but that is not an option....10 years and 10 surgeries....my life will always be filled with sleepless nights, anxiety, depression and most of all uncontrolled pain that is always there, and unrelenting. Most of us are in this situation as a result of something out of our control. To be punished for it is unacceptable.

I have witnessed first hand BOTH sides of this issue! My husband has been treated for the past 12 years for pain. How my husband is treated is NOW in the hands of our insurance company -NOT the doctor. The hoops we had to jump through recently when his company chose to change health benefit plans was a SAD JOKE. We have had pharmacists REFUSE to fill my husband's prescriptions. We have dealt with ONE pharmacy the past 6 years and still he has gone without his meds due to poor management on the pharmacy side. The pharmacy cannot seem to keep meds in stock to fill his prescriptions. The other side of the coin is that I have witnessed MANY of my son's friends DIE from overdoses. The pill mills were handing pain meds out like candy. Those pill mills are being closed down but NOW the issue is with the suboxone - If these pharmaceutical companies were not making so many millions of dollars, we would NOT have these issues! Health insurance companies SHOULD not be allowed to work FOR PROFIT. You simply cannot have QUALITY care if the insurance companies are focused on the bottom line. PLEASE look into the situation we are currently facing! There has to be a BETTER way!

Why are the doctors who got the addicts hooked on drugs allowed to now get them addicted to another drug name SUBOXONE! This drug should be given in a rehab and the addict should be weaned off before they are released. I was going to a doctor for years but now he seems to be making a lot of money off of this drug and his office looks like a methodone clinic. I have since found a new doctor. Dirty money these so called doctors are making off of the addict who is most likely selling it on the street for his herion.

One more thing,,, the Government is so organized that there is a map of the US, where zip codes can e entered to findmojt how many opiod Rx's a Dr. has written in the last year. My sister put in our Dentists name, and we foung out how many Rx she has written in the last year. No wonder Doctors are afraid to write scripts for these drugs, they're afraid to loose lisences and jobs, thereby causing patients to live a life of pain, sometimes agonizing pain.

Writing letters, comments are good in and of themselves, bjt are we really accomplishing anything, besides haveing the ability to vent? Maybe it's time to organize protests at FDA, CDC, and DEA offices, national headquarters, and local. We have to do what Project Up did in the 1980's to get action done to get the government and CDC to fast track Antivirals to save lives from the scourge of AIDS. We have to demonstrate, public acts of peaceful disobediance, bring this fight out in the open and on the news, forcing the government to reinstate opiods for genuine pain patients. I would gladly participate, or even start a movement, but I am not on facebook, and all the other forms of social media to get something started. These agncies are entrenched, and have no plans loosen their control, or change the guidelines. If nothing is done now, it will become even worse, we won't be able to get opiods until we're on our death beds, and even then it's questionable. Too much planning and money and effort has gone into these "Guielines" by the government, pain clinics, and rehab centers, they will NOT change and loosen theguidelines without a fight. We have to get the AMA to actively get Iinvolved Iin the fight too, as many Doctors , who are mot afraid to loose their lisence and jobs. We are suffering, we are in pain, we have to turn our words into actions., get Senators and other officials to help, and not just bywords or speaches, we need action now.

Part 2: I think it odd -that- at first: "It's OK to treat the patient, that's why we've created these medicines..........." And now -it's more like- "These medicines are only for a specific percentage of people - everyone else must be "Drug Seekers" [I have my own story about that one!]... SHAME ON YOU DOCTORS FOR COWERING TO THE SAME SYSTEM THAT DAMN NEAR DEMANDED YOU TO POUR PILLS OUT ON THE POPULATION LIKE CANDY FROM A CANDY STORE! Now All YOU Have To Do Is Find A Way To Rectify The Issue [that] YOU CREATED - Unlike The FDA, The Pharmaceutical companies, The Pharmaceutical Reps. - No one twisted your arm to prescribe controlled medicines at such a rate -that- it would come to all of this! The People aren't to blame - THEY TRUSTED YOU, and they trusted those same people that you trusted enough -to listen to- the 'Sales Pitches' of all of these [so-called] great medication, [Short Pitch]: "Opioid drugs work by binding to opioid receptors in the brain, spinal cord, and other areas of the body. They reduce the sending of pain messages to the brain and reduce feelings of pain. Opioids are used to treat moderate to severe pain that may not respond well to other pain medications." My wife is slowly dying from her constant [CHRONIC] pain, Heart Issues, Blood Sugar, Depression & Fatigue and it would seem that the main concern [for Doctors] is looking good to the board & the DEA......! She had to BEG to get relief, and was FINALY given the lowest dose of a medicine allowed to her, then [SURPRISE!!!]- she had to take a random Urine test to prove she wasn't selling them, or giving them away -but - that - they were in her system]... She was extremely humiliated & embarrassed -that- she's not trusted by her doctor. And I am thoroughly disgusted with the passed 5 years of watching this go on!!! So - If [by] her asking you for HELP causes you to look at her as if she is the filthiest piece of trash on the planet - I suggest you retire, and go look for a place -where- you can take a good long look inside yourself, and ask for forgiveness for not taking the pleas of a woman [that I watch] with severe pain serious enough - as her life slowly leaves her, and all interest in life vanishes. I am upset at the moment, and still I know - this is no one's fault -but those- who funded, created, sold, prescribed and dispensed any and all medications to every Tom, Dick & Harry who walked in with an itch that needed fixed [Not pain relief!].... The War On Patients Was Created From The Beginning of all of this, and it plays a heavy role in the [so-called] War On Drugs - and all this time, you thought it was legalized, and was safe to go through your family doctor -but now- You Are In The Same Line Up With The Drug Abusers - and your doctor is pointing at you from the opposite side of the window. - - - Everyone is guilty until they P!.. It almost has me seeing this in a way that would read, "You might be a Domestic Terrorist if you t

"WAR ON PATIENTS": I rarely [if ever] ask that all of you READ THIS & sign a petition, but - I feel the need to do so now.... I'll not say much on this matter right now -except for this- Many Good people are being labeled by many in the medical profession [as] 'Drug Seekers', 'Malingering' or 'Doctor Shopping'. Due to many passed decades -where- prescriptions were written to anyone saying they needed them. We all know someone who suffers with chronic pain, and yet - that person CANNOT get the doctors to even acknowledge that pain - without begging [I KNOW FIRST HAND]... But - we see others who are being taken seriously by other doctors -who- prescribe the necessary treatments in aiding their patients to live with less pain, stress, anxiety, fear or embarrassment. Here is where I cut to the heart of my rant: If doctors would have acted in more of a professional manner [in the past] -WHEN- they were told to push pills onto The People, and seen it as an opportunity to work with those who were willing to allow the necessary testing to prove their conditions were real -instead of- passing this medication out to anyone who looked like they had ulterior motives - THOSE OF US WHO DESPERATELY NEED PAIN MEDICATION would Not be looked at [today] as if we are the Drug Lords at the corners of Old Guy Road & Stoner Avenue. In truth - the doctors have created this War On Patients -through the means of carelessness- and now, no one is safe from their suspecting eyes, especially if you are the one your family depends on -to make- the refill request calls to the Dr's office, pickup the script, take it to the pharmacy It's very sad -How- this abuse has been allowed to go on -until- everyone is now looked at as "An Issue To Be Dealt With"... All in all - I'm tired of watching my wife beg me to help her pain stop, lay in bed and toss & turn for hours -when- there are threats to national security just sitting in the pharmacies all around the world - just waiting to be discovered by the Drug Task Force Team & The DEA, in an effort to bring to justice -those who conspire to help people with chronic pain. I wonder if they'll arrest the FDA for approving all of these? [joke] There has to be some acceptance of wrong doing on the parts of all doctors - it's not like the community can get prescription medicine without a prescription [Right?]... We're not asking for CRANK, HEROINE, COCAINE. SO! [Doctors] - if you were to admit this to yourselves, and be honest about it - don't you think that you've had SOME major role in creating this WAR ON PATIENTS? The Patient used to be your priority -but- those with chronic pain are being forced into a Fear, Worry, Embarrassment, and are becoming more and more introverted because of the ways the DEA is telling you to treat them. I think it odd -that- at first: "It's OK to treat the patient, that's why we've created these medicines..........." And now -it's more like- "These medicines are only for a sp

Please allow Doctors decide how to treat pain, not the DEA. Guidelines became mandates with harsh penalties. Gentlemen imagine having your prostate gland removed ? While in a recovery facility for two weeks with a catheter , would you allow your Dr. prescribe pain meds strong enough to alleviate pain? Or prefer Tylenol, the RN telling you " sorry about your severe pain, but the doctor no longer prescribes strong pain meds, the DEA monitors every script written. He's afraid of losing his privileges maybe even his license." Punish those that abuse the system. Don't punish your voting citizens and Doctors. Who is better trained at making medical decisions? The DEA? Or dedicated phycians with decades of training and experience????

I am a 20+ year centralized, chronic pain patient due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (a genetic connective tissue condition) and Chronic Lyme Disease. These two conditions have caused me to suffer from Arnold Chiari Malformation, migraines, neuropathy pain, muscular and deep tissue pain (Fibromyalgia,) joint pain, degenerative and osteo arthritis pain, severe TMJ, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and more. This pain is chronic throughout my whole body and acute in various parts of my body at different times. Parts of my nervous system are not working properly and telling my body to be in pain all the time. I've been told by doctors that my constant, daily pain is worse than many cancer patients, yet you're making it harder for me to get my pain medications than it is for criminals. If you continue to do this you're not going to solve the addiction problem or save lives you're only going to flip the problem and create a larger one by turning the law abiding citizens (pain patients) into criminals and/or you'll kill many of them. You will also ruin the lives of all of those around them that care about them. Not to mention the collateral damage, like a person that may be hit by them if they attempt to drive a car in pain or the businesses affected by their poor work performance or loss of their amazing work performance. And do you really think the addicts are going to obey the law, or not do what they have to to get what they need to feed their addiction? All you're going to accomplish is doubling the amount of people now having to obtain their pain medications illegally, creating twice the size of the problem. Even more overloading our police load and judicial system, over crowding our jails, all to punish these poor people for just trying to survive a day without pain; What should be a God given right that you're not only taking away from them but now penalizing them for and ruining their life for because they have to break the law to fight for it. Real smart. The affects are more far reaching than anyone can even imagine for all these millions of sufferers but all you're thinking about is the addiction issue and you're forgetting about why these medications were created in the first place. They were created to treat us. Not just acute pain for injury and surgery, but chronic pain patients. To improve and better our quality of life. Please don't make the same mistake as we've made with the gun laws. Let's learn from our mistakes and find a different way to stop crime. Don't punish the law abiding, American citizens that have a right to a pain free, comfortable life. Especially if their doctors say they should have it.

Dear (Dr). Luetkemeyer, wow do I EVER regret filling in that oval today to give you my personal vote for this election. I am very sad and sickened with your pre-drafted letter! I know how it works; I was once a county employee so I understand how your system works! Question for you? Have you actually read and listened to our stories? True Chronic pain patients, do you even know how your reply even makes us feel, like we are DRUG ADDICTS, your placing us in the same category as a drug addict. How disgusting that our government is now our physicians. How sad that you are listing statistical numbers that are not correct, I've read every CDC, DEA, physicians updates, etc. and you CANNOT put us CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS in the same category, a true pain patient does what the doctor asks of them, which is sometimes a bit degrading but we do it for we are in pain and are suffering! I've been on pain management for 13 years, never been red flagged, never asked for early refills, stayed with 1 pharmacy, one doctor, even turned in prescriptions from say the dentist or ER from other conditions like cramps! I have taken urine tests, been truthful, done therapy, done TENS unit, done mental cognitive therapy, chiropractic care, had about 15 very painful injections, surgeries you name it!!!!!! Now, I sit here in my little chair being in excruciating pain and typing you this letter which may or may not be read! One more question Sir? If I die from my pain or medical withdrawals or from a stroke or seizure, are you going to pay for my burial? Because its your fault not my families. May God help us all and please let doctors do their jobs and work with the patients. You are TURNING "OUR freedom" into a freedom-less COUNTRY, INTO A Communist COUNTRY..... I'm very disappointed in this county, state and country.... And you Sir! Also, please don't EVER COMPARE MY PAIN AND ANXIETY in the same sentence as a heroin OR DRUG addict. Sincerely, Mrs. Michele Lee Ridenour

I suffer from severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and have recently been told that I have AS as well. The RA is in every joint in my body, including my hips, my shoulders, my ribs, affecting breathing, and my larynx, resulting in the loss og my voice. Right now it id 5:13 AM and i have nit been asleep all night due to pain. I am 62 years old. Addiction? What happened to compassion? I am just trying to live a few more years, and get some sleep every now and then. I know the arguments about opiods and chronic pain, but eventually you get to a point where you are desperate for any relief you can get. No one should make these decisions that has not suffered the pain, and for those that have already lived most of their lives and that are fully diagnosed with these types of chronic diseases, the availability of these drugs should be a given. This current climate, and DEA use of political power is just another knee jerk reaction to news and current events, with the pendulum swinging to scare tactics this year, and back to more lenient policies in future years. The truth is, politics and power grabbing should have not place in the availability of medical care, in any year.

I was labeled and possibly flagged a few days after the new laws came out. I also was robbed and the PA hit the roof, making me out to feel like a terrible person. I was robbed by a nephew who kicked my door in and stole not only my medication but credit cards. This is how he was caught. I will end up in a wheelchair if something does not happen soon. I fell yesterday evening while coming down the steps and sprained my ankle. I can handle a sprained ankle but after sleeping I awakened with horrific pain that took a few hours and extra pain medication to move well enough to get to the restroom while I try to rest my ankle and back. This "labeling" will force me to become bedridden and I know I will be in a wheelchair due to lack of proper care. As I go seek a second opinion I want people to know life should never be this miserable. I am unable to clean my own home, sit and work decent hours to help out my long suffering husband pay the bills, stand to shower, cook meals and even drive without pain medication. I am frightened and am searching for help. I need a patient advocate or to be in observation. I do have another MRI for my pelvis and lower back which I am praying tells them they can operate and fix me. To people who steal medication or abuse them and are not in chronic pain you are ruining lives. Instead of attacking chronic pain patients, LISTEN to them. My PA obviously never cared enough to get to know me at all. I hate lies and gossip. Anyway I wish they would leave chronic pain patients alone and make it easier not harder. I do not abuse my medication but laying here in pain is no life. I miss out on so much. Every day I am able to do shopping or clean my home I am so grateful. My PS is playing God. She holds the key to my future and I am so sad she punished me for being robbed. She considers me stupid but when she told me they won't fix my ACL/MCL tears because I am not athletic I knew she was not only ignorant but stupid. After seeing her for 15 years I am now looking for another Doctor and I REFUSE to allow a label in my medical records. It is time to contact a lawyer before my PA ends up killing me. I should not have this much trouble but this past year my legs have become worse. Not a good sign at all.

I suffer from a, painful disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis. I have had 2 knee surgeries, wrist surgery, 3 bulging cervical discs, chronic migraines and the lists goes on. I have an amazing and compassionate pain specialist. In fact, today he did SI joint injections. In the past in his private practice he would give me slight sedation so I wouldn't feel it. He joined a larger practice and is not allowed to sedate for many painful procedures. It's ridiculous doctors can't care for their patients the way they see fit. I know he felt bad putting me on pain today. It's not his way but what can he do? Let doctors be the doctors.

Its not just chronic pain people, its everyone. Son just had major surgery (Fulkerson Osteomy with Lateral release) -open. He was prescribed 4 days worth of medication for pain. was told before surgery he would be taken care of properly, then it arrives, no help nor refills. "he is 16, and kids will get addicted, so we don't prescribe for them after the first script".....REALLY?. The DEA has ruined quality health care, we can't get "care", this is a major problem. FIX IT......

He lives two doors away from me and it just breaks my heart to hear him like that, as it is also crippling my brother emotionally to have to endure this with him. My nephew suffered a fall to his head and neck from the top of a tall slide when he was just 3 1/2 years old, as well as snow boarding injuries and car accidents in his almost 26 years, leading to excruciating, chronic pain! Shots and physical therapy have not helped, but he was at least able to function and have a life when he was allowed to take a higher dose of opiates. He was never euphoric, but was in less pain and able to walk! Let's face it...if young people want to be euphoric, they find other ways than to force themselves to go to a pain management doctor, who then treats him like a typical addict looking for a fix! Believe me he has lots of friends who could score him something more potent, but he is abiding by the rules...the rules set by the damn DEA, who has no business being a part of any medical decision. Now, all he wants to do is die...because the pain is too great...he's dying a very slow, painful death now because he can't eat and he's wasting away... I wonder how many people are going to die, either like my nephew or by taking their own lives by any means possible because it's better than living this way. Doctors need to step up and fight for their patients!

I suffer from debilitating pain from multi-level degenerative disc disease, facet joint disease, bulging discs, and benign tumors pressing on the nerves in my spine. And that's just the lumbar area! Not to mention the nerve damage and the degeneration of my cervical spine and pinched nerves in my thoracic. However, my doctor just recently reduced my medication AFTER receiving my MRI results, which by the way contained all of this information! His reasoning had nothing to do with how to treat my condition, but EVERYTHING to do with the laws and stigma being imposed by the DEA, FDA, and CDC. I'm sick and tired of the stereotype given to me because I suffer from chronic pain. Yet, I manage to put myself through school, work full-time and take very well care of my 3 children while my spouse works a different shift and isn't home in the evenings. Forget about the fact that I'm also a Sunday School Teacher. I was able to be a productive mother, wife and employee because I had my quality of life back for the first time in ages. My fear is that by lowering my medication I'm going to be back to where I was so many years ago... Bed/couch ridden, unable to perform the simplest of tasks!

I have been in 2 very bad car accidents in the past 8 yrs. My regular doctor was scared by the DEA and had to go to abother practice and is unable to prescribe pain meds any longer. I have been suffering since. I am going to a pain management clinic that really is a joke. They have been unable to control my pain. I was on oxycodone and they will not prescribe it but are willing to give morphine or a type of demoral which does not help at all. All I want is to be pain free again. Hurting in Alabama!!
