Still trying to keep going things really depend on me and I was in so much pain and followed Dr. Orders with meds to give me some life and still stay walking. Now 14yrs later I have to go though again the hole thing ,medically but with out any meds because the DEA has made things so bad that to find help for the pain is impossible . Except this time I may never get the help I need so bad!Something has do be done! We as the older of the people who have worked hard all our life's and for our country, NEED HELP! I have a friend who has fibromyalgia (and is in disability for decades because of this condition), arthritis and migraines. Two of her doctors are being actively hostile towards her, they are openly undereducated in medical terms (I am a specialist in medical literature and I hold a Ph.D. for that), they make false claims about addiction and the nature of chronic pain that should be investigated both by the medical state board and the police. Their behavior could be characterized as sadistic, as they refuse to medicate her for pain knowing she suffers from chronic pain illnesses. If something happens to her, I will personally sue them. I am keeping record of her visits.REPORT COMMENTS

To whom it may concern, I Rudy am writing on behalf of my doctor, who right now is going to court to try and stop these government entities from taking his license to practice,in all 50 states. I have been a patient in his office for over ten years, after going to pain clinics, physical therapy, chiropractors, neurologists, countless Doctors and having two surgeries, I can't even imagine what a devastating burden it would be to my life if I was no longer in my doctors care. I trust his judgement one hundred percent. He has helped me through some trials in my life where I wasn't sure if I could go on in the condition I was. Not only has he done wonders for me physically he has made me a better man, a better father and a functional member of society. My doctor has impacted my life in the most positive way, before his care there were weeks upon weeks when I would stay in bed unable to care for my own simple basic needs. I was a burden to everyone around me. Now I have become much more independent, I hope you will take this matter seriously as it essential to my well-being. I owe so much to my doctor. I know I will never find a physician that cares for me at the level he does. He is a intelligent, bright prestegeous Doctor, I believe his work should be awarded as I know he has worked in all fields of medicine including Emergency Room Head Physican. My doctor has saved many lives, I'm sure. He has been saving many lives for over 37 years. But my letter is to inform you that he saved MINE! He continues to do so everyday! Taking away his license would be a terrible injustice to myself and the many people who's quality of life is greatly improved because of his expertise and genuine care and concern for all of us, myself especially. Thank You for your attention to this matter as it is of great importance. Sincerely. R.Travis R.REPORT COMMENTS

I have chronic pain every day. I recently was diagnosed with Lupus. I have had pain since I was 15 when I injured my back. All the doctors I have gone to have said that there is nothing wrong with me I'm just seeking out pain medication. That is not the case. I have a doctor now that diagnosed me and is treating me. I haven't felt like this in years. I can actually function now and spend time outside my home. I had high blood pressure before I started seeing this doctor and now I don't. I have not had high blood pressure for a year Ina half.REPORT COMMENTS

Most of my life starting at the high school level I learned how to weld welding was a big part of my career during this time the type of work causes damage to your body because it is hard labor manual labor I forced to do early retirement do to a knee surgery. the doctor said due to my work I would have to have a knee replacement sooner than necessary so his recommendation was not to go back to work to retire I take pain medication to help that need but it also helps with other medical problems that they have like my back neck shoulder wrist this law has affected my quality of life I can't sleep have to wake up and go sit in the recliner try to fall asleep then I have to take antidepressants I'm limited to just sitting in a chair all day with a heating pad or something like that with the medication I'm able to live a somewhat normal life it's not a cure but it does help me with my day-to-day life I feel that it's my right to choose what I should take as a pain medication along with my Dr the government shouldn't have the right to restrict my care because of other people being a drug addict this law does nothing but harm people like me who is on disability that require these medications that's to go to the doctor to get a hand-written prescription then go to the drugstore and Wait to get it filled. say for instance you run out there's no refills when they have to go back to the doctor spend money go back to the drugstore it's just repeat it's it's just a silly method when you used to could just go to the doctor get the prescription have refills if you needed them you would call in and get the refills now and in my area you run out of the pain medication it could be 30 days or longer before you get seen by a physician so during that time you just suffer and set around and a recliner and have no quality of life this law does nothing for people with disabilities or anybody that has pain or daily pain this affects so many people with chronic illnesses it's unreal I just don't understand how the government could restrict something for medical purposes praying for people who really truly need this type of medicationREPORT COMMENTS

I was diagnosed with Sciatic Nerve a few years ago was put on some pain medication or wrong with having some injections the injections work very well however during flare-ups I need the pain medication that the new law restricts in the beginning and I was able to get a hundred and eighty Days by which is 90 days I didn't have to use 4/9 days Supply that would last week sometimes even six months and all depend on if my flare up I could take it at my own discretion now with the new laws it's in place if I don't have the prescription I've come totally disabled I'm not able to do things simple tasks around your home vacuuming cleaning or anything I am permanently disabled from this condition to no longer work and so if I don't have the medication and I'm having a flare up I call my doctor sometimes it can be up to 30 days before I can go see the doctor so during that time I'll just suffer this law affects people with chronic illnesses it's an unfair law 2 people who have chronic illnesses that take pain medications at their discretion and written by the doctor as prescribed I ask that this law be redone we looked at because it affects my life and my quality of life take antidepressants medications help you sleep and accept your it's a very horrible life living that the fact that someone else is controlling what you want do with your body and what medications you can take and what you can take the salon needs to go it should be my right and my doctor's right to choose the treatment and the type of pain medications I need to takeREPORT COMMENTS

I've suffered with chronic back pain for 20 years. I was given an epidural with my 1st born & after, was made to walk to the bathroom too soon, pulling tendons & ligaments in my neck & back. Plus, another epidural & 4 car crashes (none my fault). These doctors make me feel like I'm asking for heroin!! I understand having restrictions but not the alienation.REPORT COMMENTS

I am sitting here crying in pain - just had major surgery but docs would not give pain meds because I get chronic opiod treatment which by the way has been reduced so that my pain has not been controlled prior to surgery,. I suffer from seven bulging discs in my back along with two crushed discs, a twisted and curved spine that has flattened my spinal cord in two places. Since my diagnosis every doctor I have seen has treated me more like a criminal than a patient because I require pain relief. This country has lost it's ever loving mind. I hope the ones who have instilled these travesties' upon the weak and wounded never have to suffer from chronic pain because they may have to put up with their own nonsense. " I can only hope that will be their just reward.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a 59 year old male born with medullary sponge kidneys. I have suffered my entire life with this disease having well over 300 surgeries and or procedures over the past 30 years. I did not need continuing pain medication until 8 years ago. I never had an increase in my medication in 8 years always on a dose 3 times per day. My doctor recently lost his license and I have been without pain medication for over a year now. I have never been in pain management just my PCP and my nephrologist. My nephrologist is scared to death to prescribe opoids. I guess it's back to living in the hospital. I will now have to go to the er almost daily. I will apply for SS and welfare because I can no longer work or even function in this daily hell. The government is hurting themselves and driving up the health insurance costs instead of paying for a prescription once a month they can now pay all of the above said. I will not give to the cartels nor will I commit suicide like so many others. What is wrong with the USA? It's time to unite and make a movement and get our lives backREPORT COMMENTS

Born with cerebral palsy, I've had surgeries over my 43 years. Cerebral Palsy doesn't worsen. However there is effects from having C.P. like my back and hip have extreme pain now that I have reached this age. The pain is effecting my "normal" everyday life. I am on disability. this new law that prohibits me from simply causes more harm. I have to pay more co-pays and the doctors then pay for the medications. EVERY 30 days. I do not take the like having to take any medication, However in this Opioid medications makes my life better or "normal" if it wasn't for the medication all I have if to lay in bed and do nothing at all. I do not have to take the medications daily only during what I call "flare ups" during this time I am either suck without the medications because I can not afford going to the doctors and making a decision if I should take the medication and lay in bed and do nothing. I understand the risk of taking the medications. Thus it is why I only take it during my needs, Please allow my doctors and make the decision of my life and health care. Its my life. i have spine damage from a car wreck. i am 62 years old and am a responsible person. i have been on hydrocodone for nearly 20 years. i take it as needed, everyday is different. i have multiple MRIs to back it up. but my doctor retired, now with these new laws, i cannot find a doctor in my town to prescribe my pain medication. i have a disabled son to care for and i have to be able to function . i cannot lay in bed all day in pain. i do not have insurance because my only income is social security, so i cannot go to those special pain management clinics that only see people with insurance and cost an unbelievable amount of money just to walk in the door. these medications give me my ability to function as a useful person and to not have to suffer. you people just do not get it. you are punishing the elderly, chronically ill and disabled--legitimate pain sufferers, not the drug addicts looking to get high. these pills do not make me high, they make me function. the only thing these new stricter laws will do is to drive honest and desperate sick people to have to resort to illegal means to relieve their pain, and i guarantee that will be the case if there are no longer any doctors who will help. it will be a booming business for the illegal drug dealers now! i know because i will now have to become one of these desperate people.REPORT COMMENTS
