I guess the "fear government" labels offered by my fellow citizens on the right now have a new listener. I am in in consideration of becoming a former citizen of the US / it's not what I want but something's got to give. Ironic in my case I am the sole person who has integrity here / considering a malpractice attorney / despite a lifelong distaste for our litigious culture.

I suffer from back pain. I was taking low dose OxyCodone of 5 mg 1 to 4 times a day. Thanks for the new rules I am no longer able to get my medication and am in constant pain and agony. I am getting other non medication treatments which are only partially helpful. One of my doctors told me my dosage was well below addiction level but thanks to the assumption of guilt I am not even trying to get the opiods. You have won I have lost and now I must suffer while you bask in the glory of my agony.

I am being treated by a d.e.a. regulated facility in Pa. for multilevel cervical and lumbar disease. I receive my prescriptions by a practitioner duly liscenced by the D.e.a. I abide by all rules of my treatment facility to the letter and by signed contract yet when I take my prescriptions to the local pharmacies its always the same story. The d.e.a. has only allotted us so much of that medication and we don,t have any so then I must run all over until I am lucky enough to find it out of my area.

I honestly can hardly believe what is happening in theland of the free. DEa harassing physicians compassionate enough to treat pain. This must stop, too many people are suffering because of the DEA's Gestapo tactics!

I live in chronic pain, and have for almost a decade, I have never abused my opiate pain medication, and yet now I am being treated like an addict, because I need pain meds just to cope - hour by hour... How dare they, they do not live in this body, and they do not know how I feel.....I have the right to medical treatment, and I do not care if the doctors and politicians are uneasy about the amount I take, they have no right to make me suffer more pain then I already do, just because they do not like the medication....

This needs to be stopped and start helping the patients that suffer chronic pain all their lives! Doctors like to play God and have the patients suffer rather than help them come to some kind of solution . We have a RIGHT TO BE PAIN FREE! and have a somewhat normal life and to be able to cope day to day. Is this the stone age? I would love for some of these doctors to live just one week in the terrible agony we have to go through. I hope this passes and other get the help they need also. I suffer with chronic arthritis pain, deep bone pain! Brandi

It's a travesty! As a disabled RN of 25 years, who has gone through the trends of medicine; I remember when we were taught that "pain is what the patient says it is"; complete with flyers in locker rooms etc....because it is a patient's right to have pain relief! I am one of those patients now. I have been insulted, accused, refused, embarrassed, and the condescending attitudes complete with facial smirks, eye rolling...makes my skin crawl! This is unacceptable! I had to fight for comfort meds for my dying 88 year old mother on hospice care last june! Every waiting room I am in the conversation is there. There are tears from pain; talk about ER visits where patients are told flat out they are drug seeking! I'm talking about 50 years old and up! Not excluding any age; as pain is debilitating! This is neglect, and abuse! And yes, these people don't function normally...it hurts too much. So they deteriorate, get pumped full of steroid shots, and lay and suffer! Just like everything else this country gets a hold of...they go too far, and leave out those the medicines benefit...using big Pharm influence (antidepressants for pain)...and media, Dr. Drew, Oz, etc...this is about as un american as it gets! I'm ashamed! I was a nurse...now my label is addict? drug-seeker? prescription pain medication abuser?...They get to choose. God put poppy seeds on this earth...just like white willow bark that aspirin comes from, and the fox glove plant which digitalis is made from...and on and on...pain is real! You bet these poor people are trying to find relief! Any congresspeople have a pain problem? Neuropathy? I'll bet so...I've been around this block...it's ugly and unfair...right now; I am flat on my back after having medial branch blocks today on my back...I'm 51 years old...but I've been injured and in pain, gone through 2 surgeries...and it's been four and a half years! My muscles have atrophied; I can't exercise because it hurts too much...This needs to stop! We are missing out on life.

My wife's been in chronic pain for at least 15 years now. Every time her doctor moves on she gets a new doctor, then she gets the run around again, for at least the last 18 months she has had an abdominal pain that they haven?t been able to figure out (on top of her other issues), so we go to ER, 2 months ago we were told by the ER that she?s been red flagged and both hospitals and Doctors in our area will not give her any additional pain killers to relieve her pain, so her last bout with this issue she just stayed home crying and vomiting for about 5 days. She?s sick and tired of being treated worse than a dog by the very people who swore to do their best to help the sick. Now her new doctor of 4 months is 4 days late on filling one of her meds, however on their website it shows he filled it yesterday. I called around about 2 months ago trying to find an attorney to take the case of here being black listed and being treated like a 3 party citizen or drug seeker and they refuse to get her pain level down to where she has any quality of life, (she?s in bed 25 out of 30 days a month) they weren?t interested in the case saying there was no money in it. She was born here, went to school here, worked here and raised our children here, I guess that explains why we are 3rd class citizens, we allowed it to happen, shame on us! And yes the Doctor has backed her down to 2/3rds of one of her two meds, I guess she?s doing much better now and just a pain to him. Don?t get me started on the chronic pain centers, if you don?t need a procedure you?re a waste of their time and effort, but if you?ll go through pain management and physical therapy, letting them bill you monthly they might take care of you. Where I was raised if you have a flat tire you don?t drive on it, it will ruin the tire for life. Instead you fix the tire (issue) then do physical therapy to make it better. But what would I know I?m not a Doctor. What the hell is wrong with this country? Who took our balls? When are we going to stand up and take our rights back? Please get mad! It?s time something was done to turn this Government back around. Please stand up and help us all get a better quality of life.

I have had 5 back surgeries and I was diagnosed with chronic pain syndrome. I have been prescribed Hydrocodone 10 milligrams 180 quantity for over 5 years and I have been seeing my "new" doctor for almost 2 years and the first few months he was giving my 180 quantity and then 160 and then 140 and now 130 quantity. I am starting to suffer because the pain is starting to set in on the count that the meds wear off. The dr first said that the DEA is "cracking" down on med abusers. And then he said that he was being audited so then he brought my quantity down to 130. How is that my fault??? I need my 180 quantity back. I do not know what to do. And its funny that I only received 140 on the 14th of June but on the bottle it says to take 1 pill every 4 hours and that is what I am doing and I am about to run out. My next appointment is on the 14th of August. Can someone please give me some advice???

I do not have a primary Doctor yet due to not being able to afford one. However I believe it is unfair treatment of Doctors by the DEA. Advancements in medicine are meant to help the people and Doctors go through so many years of schooling to help patients to the best of their ability. They should not be restricted simply because someone can get dependent on something that works.

Im a former ulcerative colitis patient who's first surgery was botched and wasn't discovered as cause for my abdominal pain until the second surgeon actually saw the errors first hand when he cut me open. Even after being found a legitimate chronic pain sufferer, instead of being glad to know and treat, drs seemingly where more reluctant to help me because i was right and they were wrong. Ive never shown anything but gratitude to any dr treating me and certainly didn't seek restitution for the incorrect surgery. But the ones who are paid and I must rely on to treat my pain now refuse due to my incorrect medical history and ongoing need for new drs. Im 36 and considered suicide, assisted living facilities, (nursing home), and wish the cancer im guaranteed to have due to radiation to my abdomen would hurry so I could have a few years with a little less agony perhaps. Treat me, the human in your office, for the issues perfectly obvious to all, not the person fabricated by incorrect medical records and grudge holding physicians that would rather tarnish someone s reputation than accept an incorrect diagnosis and face the truth after two years of insults and premature spreading of devastating rumors about my "Drug abuse" thanks.

KAISER is the DEVIL. I cannot believe they have taken away my meds after the last 4 years of giving me 3 30 mg. Morphine ER, & 1 or 2 10/325 oxycodone every 6 hours. I have debilitating pain from degenerative disc disease and sciatica, and fibromyalgia. I'm at a loss. What do I do now?

I was given pain meds for a 20 year old severe crush injury. I have 7 screws, 3 steel plates and a cadaver bone in my right foot with a lot of arthritis. My knee was replaced two years ago and I have bulging disks. I cannot take anti-inflamatories because my stomach bleeds fom 20 years of taking them. Now, at 57 years old, I can't have quality of life because doctors fear the DEA. It's a good thin I'm allowed anti-depressants because I don't want to live like this, constant pain like an abscess tooth in my foot. Just who are these idiots saving? Nobody, that's who. Kids who want to get high will find it somewhere. It's like gun control, the criminals don't obey those rules either. Other countries don't have these issues. Our country makes too much money with their puritanical laws and ideas. Money from courts, lawyers, fines, probation fees, so it's going to take we, the people, to change these laws. We need to take back our liberty before we forget what it was like.
