Labeling patients and forcing them to suffer is not what doctors are suppose to do, they are supppose to DO NO HARM yet they're doing harm because of their own misguided thoughts and the DEA

Two herniated disc, spondylosis and now thanks to the DEA I have been moved from hydrocodone to tramadol. It does nothing. Now I miss work regularly and will most likely off myself soon. Thanks for screwing another life.

Making it difficult to get legitimate pain management will just drive everyone to illegal drugs. Not to mention the cost if seeing a Dr every 30 days. Just dricing up insurance costs again.

Suffering from permanent back issues which make life so difficult I do not want to do anything. I have no zest for life. Only a pain medication makes me feel able to walk and do things. The United States is a cruel country. I want to leave it. I wish I could live in a nicer country, one that does not continually murder people by dropping bombs from pilotless planes and making its sick citizens suffer by taking away their last hope to live like well people.

I have been on Norco 5/325 for pain from a neck surgery which has collapsed the rest of my cervical discs. I just had Rotator Cuff surgery for a torn cuff. My surgeon gave my a script to up my Norco to 10/325 because he said it will be very painful. Well, Rite Aid would not fill it. They said to double on what I had at home. I was concerned about too much Tylenol and liver damage which was why my doc took me off of Vicodin and put me on the norco. The first nights after my surgery was so painful and I kept having to double the meds that I felt sick to my stomach. So the surgeon wrote me a script for Percacet and said I shouldn't have a problem with getting it filled. So back to Rite Aid and nope, they said it is still a narcotic and I have Norco at home. I am going to run out now because they are making me take more than what I am allowed. I am supposed to go in for another neck surgery after my shoulder heals. I have decided never to have another surgery again. I felt like a criminal. I have tried pain management for my neck and received shots. The doc, if that is what they are, hit a nerve in my neck and made it worse. The norco made life bearable. But I doubt Rite Aid will ever fill my scripts anymore.

What a mess this has caused. I suffer from many genetic illnesses, which have led me to 16 surgeries over the last several years. This year in particular, I have had 9 surgeries. The doctors that actually want to help manage the pain are now too scared and we are all sent to pain doctors that treat us like we are there for drugs. I want relief, but I was told they will not do my open heart surgery until I try pain management. I do not even like taking prescription medications because I like to have a clear head, but when I need it like I do with my surgeries I think it should be easily accessible. Those that abuse the law already know how to get it. What about the rest of us that truly need it? It's not fair and needs to be changed back. Please and thank you! -A concerned disabled American citizen

My doctor sent a report to the insurance company because he has not been able to learn whats causing my continued pain after treatment saying: "he will never return to work less he gets off the medication". Even if someone did not know I've had serval back surgeries, 35 plus epidurals and a separate Pain Management Dr., betrayal in this way is low for any doctor. Now am having problems get my pain medication authorized by the insurance company written by my PM Doctor. It just doesn't seem illegal.

I was a patient of this doctor and now can not find a new doctor either. I have had 3 back surgeries in the last year and still can not function on a daily basis without some type of medication. I have 2 children at home that now have to suffer because this doctor was obviously just in it for the money and not for the patients that actually needed the help. I did not chose this doctor to begin with, he was who i was sent to by my surgeon.

This issue needs to be seriously addressed. I am done wasting my money on a medical system designed to criminalize anyone who needs pain medicine. No wonder there are so many heroin addicts in this country. Anyone could find themselves trying it in a futile attempt to self medicate, while doctors try to keep themselves out of the path of the DEA or looked at as drug dealers.

I have Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis..Badly...My Rheumy is one of the Best and I do not blame her at all, I was cut 10 pain meds. for the month. The DEA is putting pressure on all of these Docs. What bothers me, is Now for ALL of US, what do we do...I think there is going to be a Big uprising over this, but I believe we need to see how to take more legal Action. I feel very Badly for the Patients of the Doctor in New Castle who now can't be seen or another Doctor Will Not see them, this is not their fault nor Our fault! If there is anything we can do Legally, I Am In...I can't work because of this pain I am in daily...I also refuse to sit and suffer daily, we need to do something...

Why aren't more of you talking about filing a legal action against the DEA in court? This is the ONLY thing that will change this ruling and roll things back to a sane level. Talking to our congressmen and women will really do no good. Getting represented in court and filing papers is going to be the only way that anyone with power to finally recognize the problem. Senators and congressmen will do nothing about this issue for us no matter how many letters we send. I am convinced of this. They are ALL afraid of looking like they are weak on the so called war on drugs. This has nothing to do with the war on drugs, if such a thing ever made any sense in the first place, which it hasn't. Getting a lawyer and a judge to start this process against the DEA and its dictatorial powers is the only route that any of us can take. Again, our congress will not listen and neither will our president. They are all too worried about keeping their seats of power. They do not give ear to the people and the studies they quote from their committees of power are all skewed and bent to look like the logic they are using makes sense. I don't care if any one of them gets elected or re-elected. They are a disgrace in my books for letting this disgusting and despicable rule, pass. Again, legal action in state and federal court is the only way to challenge this terrible ruling. I hope our senators and congressmen look at this. To me, they don't listen to the people. They listen to corporate America and other entities with power and ability to line their own pockets. They listen to entities that are likely to ENHANCE their image in the public eye, instead of really addressing the urgent issues, or considerations of the communities they represent. This new law is a travesty of justice. I am angry with all the politicians that let this ruling go forward without proper review and consideration of the impact on real people, not just numbers.

I was a patient at Dr. William Hedrick for 10 months and now that he is under investigation by the DEA and being searched, susspended. This now leaves patients with no where to go for help. Anyone out here have any luck finding another provider sine Hedrick is not working at least not at this time.

I suffer from chronic pain to which my PM doc said I was not a surgical candidate at this time. Until he prescribed 10/325 I had been given various other pain meds because the doctors were afraid to give hydrocodone out of their "family practice" office. I tried injections, PT, topical ointments, DayPro, Celebrex, etc, etc. to no avail. Now, my PM dr's staff called and said no more hydrocodones but instead Tylenol 3. These don't touch the pain, not even take the edge off, but I do feel dizzy, tired, sluggish, sleepy and the worst case of constipation. I work full time but have recently been debating on part time and or letting the mortgage go and live off welfare due to the pain in my knees, shoulders, neck, lower back. Pathology has been confirmed in MRIs so it's not like I'm faking the pain. Anywho, let's see what becomes of all patients who are being undertreated due to DEA recommendations and FDA's approval of stricter laws to limit access to chronic pain sufferers. It's a shame.

Unfortunate that recent rule changes are hurting us patients with expensive (and not as effective as regularly taken medicine) procedures but I don't believe its pm doctors fault. Its the liberal mommy state ran dea under obama and his ilk. Dang these insane rules and the emotional , physical and financial strain they are causing us people who are in severe pain that used to be manageable with inexpensive medicine that was always taken as directed. I hope Texas and the DEA changes the rules soon to allow those seeking relief from constant pain to be allowed to have it again one day. Shame on those rulemakers who are ruining my life with financial burdens and more pain than I can tolerate. I was cut 20% today on my script to 4 per day of norco. Less every month going forward until I get jack.. while they force me to pay enormous amounts of money on injections and poking and prodding. When $10 for 150 norcos used to keep my pain barely manageable for a decade & now I will be down to 90 in 30 days and eventually none. Thanks liberals. You wanted obamacare amd a mommy state and you got it. Oh. And walgreens said they were out of stock.. then at another walgreens they filled my 120 today for $98 and said my insurance doesn't cover Watson anymore. WTF! This is insane. Vote libertarian people. And I guess I'll end up dead from suicide soon or maybe cruising on the street hoping ill find some illegal methods to relieve my pain in 4 months if my pain isn't under control legally because I can't live with the severe pain. Damn this.
