I myself have gone through so much with trying to get my medications and than my insurance no longer covers them as they'd had done prior. I'm a recent amputee I lost my left hand and arm due to misdiagnosis if I wouldn't of went out of the Florida Keys we're I live and went to another hospital (homestead) I went against what the original emergency room Dr's instructions instructions I thank God everyday for going with our own "gut instinct" due to the nature an severity being sent home and prescribed medications for which I did not have what first hospital diagnosed me with, soon as I got to homestead they found a blood clot I was told by 1 of many Dr's I had if I hadn't got to hospital when I did I would have died within 2 days. I went through and still am a very traumatic experience, hospital 1 once I was sent home no blood flow was getting to my hand/arm at which I expressed to hospital 1 I was told take the medications an I'll be feeling much better in a day or so,not the case I was basically sent home for my arm to die and putting my life at risk as well. Long story short I underwent 3 surgeries to try and save my hand and arm the surgeries were unsuccessful the Dr's almost lost me on 3 separate occasions since I had gangrene and had to wait for surgeon's to receive a line of demarcation. I will say I have never ever experienced pain so bad I wanted to just pass away but, before all of this and even now I'm a healthy mother of 3,I've got a 25th old son 21 yrs old daughter and at age 35 I had my last child he's 8, he's been most affected by this I'm a I should say I was a outdoors woman played basketball almost not anything I couldn't do.It hasn't been a year yet Dr's thinking I'm needing another surgery the bone at my stump is growing through skin I am scared to death. I have no income disability has denied me twice I cannot work just as I cannot was my hair by myself, get dressed simple everyday tasks. I have no choice but to take pain medications so I can some what function .here in key largo there is 1 Walgreens 2 CVS but medications are an issue and for all the other people like me,why should we suffer and stress more? I'm scared as it is walking out I could easily be robbed of my medications. There's got to be something that can be done I have to pay for my meds and I don't have family they were killed in car accident when I was 23rd old I'm 44yrs old now going to any an all organizations to get help. The problem with getting proper meds I should be on is all I ask so my little boy can have just part of his mommy back. Someone with a heart or who has hit rock bottom themselves should be in charge and change our laws or do something . Thank You

My parents are in their 80's. Both have autoimmune illnesses. There is not a day where they are not in pain. My parents, my husband and all other people that need pain meds are being made to feel like criminals. I'M SURE IF A DEA OR ANYONE WHO WAS ELECTED INTO OFFICE AS WELL AS A DR'S FAMILY MEMBER HAD AN ILLNESS WITH CHRONIC PAIN THERE WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH THEM GETTING PAIN MEDS. I have an illness that probably none of you in the DEA have ever heard of. Chronic Ideopathic Neutropenia with Leukopenia. I take a chemo drug because if you sneeze or cough on me I can die from your germs.Feel free to look it up when you're not busy killing people because that's what you're doing. The medication I take causes severe bone pain.I now feel like I'm now living in a country controlled by Hitler!!! Oh, you have an illness and pain so step over to this side you're not needed anymore. Right now I'm so hurt and angry as far as I'm concerned it's time for We the People need to take the country we grew up in back. Your office has well overstepped it's boundaries with your laws and rules. Time for the DEA to get off your high horse like the IRS and be phased out. A Dr's oath is FIRST DO NO HARM AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS OCCURRING. Harm is coming to many, many people and it's known as PAIN. AND PAIN CAN KILL PEOPLE. I went to a pain clinic and couldn't afford it because it's $200.00 a visit. Insurance doesn't cover a pain clinic and I don't have that kind of money so now I live in pain as do many others! Go after the illegals, you know the people here ILLEGALLY that get all kinds of freebies from us...give legal U.S. CITIZENS an increase in S.S. and please don't whine about how you all don't make enough money. SHAME ON EVERY ONE OF YOU AND I PRAY TO GOD THAT THE PEOPLE OF THIS WONDERFUL COUNTRY VOTE EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA OUT OF OFFICE...ESPECIALLY IN TN..

My boyfriend and I, have been targeted for the last fourteen years by these heartless, bloodless, gang stalking trying to destroyed us mentally, emotionally, but we did every possible ways to tried to survived these types of harrashment that is difficult to pinpoint because, there are so many of them makes them even more so invisible to track. They"re quick, and fast they make us look and sound like were crazy. I still, believed until today, they're the one burned our house down last June 20, 2014. When the firemen came to put the fire out, they did do that. They helped the fire destroyed our house for the whole 25 minutes spreading the fire all over the roof,. They respond to the fire within three minutes. The fire was small enough to put it out with just the squirts of their fire hose. Instead, they were using chain saw chopped up our roof with huge square holes as big as 6'x8'. Not just one, but 7, is enough to leave our roof wide open to the sky. Then proudly posted on you tube and lies about everything. The fire could have put out within seconds and called it a day. They draft the fire all over the roof, and videoing like they just found themselves a playground waiting for them. The result of their post on YouTube were so negative from the viewers. We could get a lawyer and suit because they intercept our phone calls. Case still bending. Enough for now, but that's what these people do to us and hopefully, not get away with it this time. We dont know what they told our neighbors, the son came to me and said not to take their mom for our evening walk anymore, but I understand where all that comes from. Them!

Rational scientifically minded MD's agree, Cannabis is safe. Big PHARMA is wrong to push bad dope through the system as the only legal option for pain. I have a condition that Opioids simply mask the problem rather than providing any relief for it. I am not a rocket scientist, but have figured out that moving to a Cannabis free State just makes sense. It is obvious that the DEA could care less whether something destroys people's lives or not. I am not going to be a victim of stupid, illogical legislation that favors and benefits primarily the Narco syndicate. I refuse to be a statistic in the ever so miserably failed 'War on Drugs' perpetuated by fear mongering politicians. The gig is up, truth out. Too late for the fat cats to lie their way out. The entire world knows that you have failed in your duties to the American people and in governing our great Nation. You are imposters of righteousness and not Statesmen but money grabbers.

I too suffer from chronic pain. I have been going through this since 1999. My pain medications are getting cut monthly and I was told it was because of the CDC guidelines. When asked what I was suppose to do they just shrugged their shoulders and offered no solution. I am so outraged by our Gvmt dictating what we can and can't do with out lives it makes me sick. PLEASE STOP THIS LUNACY AND GIVE THE RIGHTS BACK TO THE PATIENTS WHERE IT BELONGS. !!!!!

As a chronic pain patient, I want my Dr's to be able to treat me with whatever they believe will most help me with pain I suffer with daily without interference from the government. I take narcotics and am a patient, not an addict. Do not threaten my quality of life in another futile attempt on the war on drugs.

Pain management for 10yrs, same doctor. Ankylosing Spondylitis, has fused my entire spine, no surgeon will do surgery, to complex, I just got the "crisis" education last month from my doctor, who agreed to put pain pump in at the advice of those surgeons, me trying to hold out for a miracle is waiting, now he asked me to go from 4 wk refills to 6, I can do 5, but the real bs, he said try to take a half of a pain pill. A doctor I trusted to stand up for what he believes in, which should be his patients has left me defeated. I was left undiagnosed for years, with the AS, I cried for help, to be told was all in my head, my pain doctor finally found it, and Mayo Clinic confirmed the dx, it is not my fault drs didn't take me serious and let my spine get damage, but I like many are paying the price!!

They demand that I go to work!! So I do, now they don't want to treat my pain!! 2 broken necks and working is a great joy. I love rolling on the floor every night in pain then doing again n again. This blows my mind, why must I suffer in pain while achieving everything the Goverment has alway asked. Now they have taken Drs. away and expect us to just put Motrin on it!! Thank you. What is the safe word for them??

As a human being who was inflicted with the spinal disease called Adhesive Arachnoiditis in 2000, I have spent my days since the diagnosis in constant pain, at times so bad that you will do most anything to get the pain down even a little. The only treatment that we have for this disease is to take at times high doses of narcotic pain medication. I'm signing this petition to ask you all to just spend one hour in our shoes and you will realize the pain we deal with 24-7. I ask t`hat you` stop and use some sense that we are not the problem and need these meds.

Addiction and legitimate chronic pain are apples and oranges. The current CDC guidelines lump the minority of drug addicts in with legitimate pain patients who do not abuse their medications. Punishing legitimate pain patients will do nothing to stop addicts, who will just get their fix on the street. But lack of access to lifesaving medications is forcing a huge number of pain patients to choose suicide as the only way out from the pain. It is very possible to weed out the minority of drug seekers?who do not have chronic physical pain?from legitimate pain sufferers. Addicts have several options on how to address their disease but most patients like me with Intractable Pain have only one thing that truly works: opiate pain meds. Doctors should be able to manage their patients' care without fear of reprisal from uncaring bureaucrats and those with a vested interest in big Pharma antidepressants and the addiction treatment industry. Lumping heroin and other illegal deaths in with prescription opiate deaths does a huge disservice to responsible physicians and patients who are doing nothing wrong. And withholding pain relief from legitimate pain sufferers amounts to torture. The pendulum has swung too far and can easily be corrected by diverting addicts into treatment for their disease and by protecting legitimate Intractable Pain patients who do not abuse their pain meds.

Medicine has become too compartmental. Doctors no longer bother to connect the dots, or analyze cause and effect.

I'm sick of being treated like a drug addict by those who have no knowledge of me or my condition. I'm also sick if being in MORE pain because said persons have got the doctors so scared they will no longer prescribe me the meds that allow me to continue with what little "life" I stilk have.

It's time that the government gets out of the medical industry and let our doctors prescribe for the patient what is necessary to have any quality of life. I have Arachnoiditis, caused by a doctor that *****ed an ESI injection that required a blood patch, hence I'm left with an incurable condition that leaves me in constant pain. My pain meds allow me to exist, take away my medications and I have no quality of life. Please listen to chronic pain patients, we are not addicts, we are dependent to have any life.

This is not in their oath "Do no harm". This exceeds the harm from everyone and everywhere. Doctors..we are taught to respect them, trust them, listen to and follow their counsel. I have been looked down on, made fun of, not believed by my supposed friends at work, and lived 4 years of hell with a boss who didn't believe I was truly in pain and she tried everything she could to get me fired. Luckily I knew more about company policy, what was legal, and FMLA than she did or I would not have only been in pain, ostersized by everyone, but I would have also been out of a job. Then if my doctor didn't believe me and hadn't helped me I would be bedridden today. Instead I can live a somewhat...somewhat normal active life. I still have problems. I have had numerous arguments with Walgreen's employees about filling my medications. Pointless altercations about why I have filled my medication 2 months ago at a different Walgreen's! Walgreen's for heaven's sake! Aren't they all the same company with the same computer system? How is that doctor or Pharmacy shopping or even anything close? I told her I've used one Walgreen's by my doctors office, one by my home and one that is on my way home from work. And she wasn't even arguing with me about the medication I was currently trying to fill. While the whole time a guy in view of the pharmacy drive through window was mumbling, talking to himself and wandering enough to make me nervous enous to lock my doors and the cop car Sat facing the pharmacy window watching it all. I felt like a criminal with my granddaughter asleep in her carseat in the back. seriously!!!! I complained but it went no where. I didn't ask to be in this pain or to be on pain medications. If I could I wouldn't have them. They cause me so much trouble. I am divorced partly because my ex couldn't keep from stealing my medication. My daughter badgers me threatens me trying to get it. I have to lock it in my safe, sleep on my keys take them to the bathroom with me. It's no way to live but neither is not being able to get out of bed or work to eat. I DON'T have s choice in this. I've tried everything thing that comes out on the market that might help my pain and even ease me back on my pain medication. Currently I'm taking Cymbalta, made me terribly suck to my stomach but I didn't quit. My doctor increased it and I again because very sick. I have other medical issues and when he increased it I was sick to my stomach constantly, I became constipated, my vision became blurry, I couldn't focus or sleep. Causing my bipolar to go up into manic mode. My doctor immediately took me off of it. When I went back in I told him how disappointed I was because it was helping with my pain. I begged him to just decrease the dosage back to the initial amount. He said that could work. Would I do that and cut back on my pain medication if I was a drug addict? I just want to be out of pain. I want to be able to enjoy my life. Putti

The arrest of Dr. Gosy Erie County N.Y. no one will treat pain..According to international human rights law, countries have to provide pain treatment medications as part of their core obligations under the right to health; failure to take reasonable steps to ensure that people who suffer pain have access to adequate pain treatment may result in the violation of the obligation to protect against cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.

I came across this article while looking for ways to "relieve" or do "anything" with my own chronic pain. I have and I am experiencing every one of the items in this writing. I've been scrutinized by the medical field, pharmacists and counsellors for years. This has added to the depression and self worth that I was already experiencing! To make matters worse, over the counter pain relief is not an option due to stomach issues. My physicians now "ignore" any mention of pain and refuse to acknowledge my condition whatsoever. I believe the idea is for me to " fire" them and go ellsewhere. After all these years in chronic pain, I have reached the point where I am a completely hopeless worn out 55 year old contemplating putting myself out of misery. Perhaps the class after "spotting the druggie" in medical school should be " how to help your patient successfully terminate their own life."

This is so shameful that these people are messing around with patients that without these meds cannot live a full life. Yes, they are addictive meds but if I didn't take these I wouldn't be able to walk with my degenerative discs and everything else I have. On top of that the doctors have been prescribing these meds for years and now scared of dea and don't give a******about us. Cutting us off almost completely and not taking it slowly, not abruptly. It is plain wrong. Maybe when something happens to one of you where you have pain on a 24 basis, will you understand. Yes, people are overdosing. People who shouldn't have ever gotten prescriptions in the first place . Why are we paying for this?
