I am one of these patients who now has panic attacks and anxiety even thinking about discussing my chronic pain and needing relief from the agony. It's unfair I feel discriminated against and made to feel shame over chronic illnesses that are not my fault I did not ask for or cause them and it's cruel to be treated as such. I have been called horrible names, accused of faking when I have years of documentation&this pain it's taken my life away completely. Change this so people like myself can get long term help for a better quality of life. Have some compassion for those suffering daily an thinking about ending it because the pain is too much to bear any longer. Help us! Stop the shaming,discriminating, cruel mistreatment and undertreatment of chronic pain patients! It's not right, fair, or okay!! I've tried so many medications they have shoved on me&I habe a bad or intolerable reaction almost every time. Every day is a struggle! Enough is enough! -

I have been documented having scoliosis of an extreme chronic pain 24/7 I've been on my medication for 10 years and now my Dr has been fired doctor's been fired I will no longer be able to get my medication and it's going through pain management pain management doesn't prescribe they use injection therapy that does not work it's ridiculous that we have to go almost illlegal means to buy our meds Congress needs to change the lawREPORT COMMENTS

I am a senior citizen with many problems due to autoimmune problems. My body has developed severe neuropathy because of pernicious anemia. My B12 levels were under 100, when they finally tested me. The damage is not reversible. It will only continue to get worse. The constant pain in my legs, is unbearable. I have fibro myalgia, cervical stenosis thoracic stenosis and many spinal discs that are causing pain. My quality of life would be greatly diminished without the aid of my pain meds. The doctor told me I have so much going on, that at this point in my life, he would just keep me comfortable. Please don't make it hard for our physicians to treat our senior citizens. We are not druggies or drug seeking patients. We are just trying to live a normal as possible life, without suffering.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a bad situation for our country. The heroin epidemic in this country is a separate issue. There is a difference between someone being treated for pain and someone that is abusing heroin. Banning pain medicine and pain management offices have only made the problem worse and amplified the illegal drug sales. ! tens of thousands of Americans left with their script one morning They are now in pain with some debilitating issue. It amazes me that the government doesn't realize they are making this worse not better. The people who need the pain meds are turned away and then they turn to illegal alternatives to be able to function in a normal capacity.REPORT COMMENTS

That’s how long it’s been since my wreck where my foot was crushed , my kneecap was ripped off, and my head was beat to hell and back. 18 fractures in my head. I live in pain constantly. When I go to a Dr. I am told (before they say anything else) “I don’t give drugs “ They even ask before excepting you as a pt. do you take narcotics. If you do they “won’t except you “ and you have to go to a clinic and they start out with “I don’t give narcotics”. Yes I’ve thought “why should I continue to live like this “ many times. I don’t even know what my rights are. Isn’t happiness one??? I promise you can’t be happy IN PAINREPORT COMMENTS

My spine was crushed in a car accident. I pain is unbearable, and I get treated like******from the doctors. My surgeon says it so bad, no more surgeries will help. My current doctor says this is all you get take it or leave it. They have me going down on meds, and now I hurt so bad, I prey to God not to let me wake up. This is BS. Our government, DEA, CDC, and others need to get off their high horse. I don't think this would have ever been and issues if it wasn't for Obamacare.
