With so many people dying from alcohol and prescription drug abuse, isn't it about time to allow people to self-medicate with something that has never caused an overdose? -

We need this Congress! There will be much less crime, shootings, black on black violence. The brutally against police officers would stop. It's the wisest decision that Congress will have made in years. Since the so called "war on drugs" began. It is a total failure. Some people serve more jail time for marijuana offenses than those of rapists and murderers. It is just absolutely ridiculous. So please make the wise decision of full legalization in EVERY state in the United States of America! This will heal America. Sincerely, Joshua Lodrigue, LouisianaREPORT COMMENTS

I think how its funny that marijuana has been around for 100's of years yet noone overdosing, committing suicide, murdering anyone, or any other outrageous caise of death. Yet cell phones, alcohol, street racing, tobacco and lets not forget the infamous prescription drugs. Texting while driving kills people every year. Drinking and driving. Alcohol poison. Illegal street racing. All major causes of death in society, but when something is known for curing diseases, helping the sick get through their pain, or just a nice stress reliever. They want to take generations into the legalization of our nation the right to smoke something that has never caused a death or been the un-natural cause of death.REPORT COMMENTS

There is no limit on alcohol or tobacco that could be purchased. Maximum of 7 grams a month is very little for people who need marijuana as a painkiller, anti depressant, or to help with insomnia.REPORT COMMENTS

Recreational use of marijuana should be legal worldwide because of its benefits and it's nonviolent, non addictive nature. Why go to war over a plant when you should be fighting to stop distribution of heroin or methamphetamine? Weed does no harm, and all the good! Make it legal!REPORT COMMENTS

I don't smoke marijuana but I think it should be legal to free up people from being incarcerated from it and hence would need less money to put into the prison system.REPORT COMMENTS
