It is time to end prohibition, it has countless medicinal benefits and no one has died from using it ever. People in the U.S are often criminalized for possessing cannabis, its time to focus on bigger issues not on a god giving plant that grows under the sun.

Evidence has shown that, in states where marijuana is legal, deaths from heroin and other opiates decrease. There's also growing evidence that marijuana is helpful in the treatment of Parkinson's, depression, epilepsy, arthritis and a host of other diseases. I don't smoke pot or take any drugs other than aspirin for my incapacitating osteoarthritis. While in Colorado, I used cannabis oil on my back and experienced immediate relief. Since arthritis is the number one cause of disability in the U.S., wouldn't that help keep people working?

I think you have more to gain from legalizing weed. First the medical benefits are starting to become on far great scale, better than other drugs in alot of cases. Second you get a chance to take money away from thugs almost like ending proabiation and hurt their pockets. Soon if not all ready half or more of the United States is in support of it, those numbers keep rising. Too many people are affraid of taking post like this one that ask for your information. overall it makes a new way for revenue to come into the states, promotes job growth is huge as we see more companies leave. So many upsides compared to the down sides. Gate way is an excuse if they wanted other drugs then no matter what they were taking being liquor or what ever, they were going to do other drugs.

I'll make it short... Alcohol is legal and it will kill you. Tobacco is legal, you can over dose on it and it kills millions every year! Marijuana is not legal yet has medical benefits and doesn't kill anyone. What is wrong with that picture??? So the real question is why does the American government view marijuana as a schedule one??? Yet they have commercials glorifying alcohol and tobacco as if they are harmless fun things to do. Our country is ******** on this topic. They have a reason for doing it they're lying to us about why it's illegal.

All that is growing on Earth is a gift from God. The Marijuana plant is a gift of healing. (Cannabis is mentioned in Exodus 30:23 but King James mistranslated it as 'sweet calamus') : Moreover, the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 23 Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even 250 shekels, and of qaneh-bosm [cannabis] 250 shekels, 24 And of cassia 500 shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: 25 And thou shalt make it an oil of holy anointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil. 26 And thous shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony, 27 And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick ahd his vessels, and the altar of incense, 28 And the altar of burnt offerings with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot. 29 And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy. (Exodus 30:22-29) * As one shekel equals approximately 16.37 grams, this means that the THC from over 9 pounds of flowering cannabis tops were extracted into a hind, about 6.5 litres of oil. The entheogenic effects of such a solution -- even when applied topically -would undoubtedly have been intense.

I smoke weed literally every day and still maintain a 3.0 gpa as an undergrad and work 20 hours a week. The fact that this "drug" is illegal is blasphemous. The government has lost the war on drugs and must admit defeat by giving what the people want. Legalized marijuana.

There's no intelligent argument against legalization of marijuana. Not while alcohol is legal there isn't. Not to mention denying me the right to medical treatment. Everyone should be afforded equal medical treatment options.

It is time we abandon the archaic demonization of Marijuana. It's medical benefits, alternative (and healthier and less dangerous than alcohol) recreation, and the potential revenue generated should be enough reasoning to push for its legalization . Why are we letting old men with "Reefer Madness" ideals make uninformed desisions regulating a plant they know nothing about. Enough with the propaganda. Weed doesn't make people go crazy. You don't see to people who are stoned on weed fighting or causing any sort of disturbance. People that are high do not rob banks or commit acts of violence while under the influence. It is a peaceful substance. I don't agree with the limit of 7 grams per month, however, I am in favor of regulation, because I am sure there are those that would try to take advantage. Regulation is important, and so is correcting the harsh ruling of Marijuana as a Schedule 1 controlled aubstance. It is a rediculous ruling. The U.S wants to make this movement a reality. It would create jobs and generate much needed tax dollars. Why waste so much time and money persecuting a plant and those who poses it?

Every negative statement made about marijuana being legalized recreationally, is also applied to alcohol and cigarettes. It's hypocritical to place on cigarette boxes and alcohol bottles how harmful they are, but still allow them to be advertised and sold. Our government has allowed several states to legalize weed, so obviously they do not think it's as harmful. Please either prohibit ALL alcohol and cigarettes along with marijuana, or simply legalize marijuana for recreational use in ALL states by January 9, 2017. Thanks!

The states have answered saying they want decriminalization. Every election more states are voting yes. It's time Congress recognizes and hears the people. Put it up to a national vote. Don't let company's fire you for failing a drug test for marijuana. You don't drug test for alcohol or tobacco.

Pot makes people peaceful and loving. Alcohol makes people violent and sick. I would much rather get up and go to work after a night of smoking than a night of drinking. Even people who wouldn't smoke it would benefit from the plastic and materials from hemp. You could tax the******out of it like you do cigarets.

I suffer from bipolar a sever manic depression. I also have arthritis and mild herniated disc. I smoked marijuana because I couldn't find the right meds the ones I was on made me worse. It got to where I couldn't find marijuana and got suicidal and had thoughts of hurting others. I checked myself into a stress center the meds they have me on now help but they have really bad side effects so I have to get my blood checked and it can kill me if levels are too high. Since I had marijuana in my system I now can't get pain medication for my back problems.

I strongly believe that marijuana should be legal for adults over the age of 21. The current drug test used for marijuana use is no good. It does nothing to show impairment only past use. We are adults, don't drive while under the influence, don't go to work that way either

Please stop the ones who are supposed to represent the people they are supposed to serve from using the scare tactics that are from days when information was not freely accessed. It is time for the government to legalize cannabis and treat it as alcohol is treated; age 21 and up to use responsibly. Use the taxes for programs to help those who become addicted and to help pay for education nation-wide. Our schools desperately need it.

If marijuana is considered medicine in some states, and illegal in the rest, then there is a breech of civil rights to obtain the medicine. Many people have to relocate to get the medicine for their children with epilepsy. Cancers have been cured, it serves many for other medical issues. It was banned in the 30/s from the opinion of one man. Those reasons have been dispelled.

If I wanted I could get all the xanax that I want from the VA, however I am allowed legal access to marijuana and marijuana by-products. It is safer by far than any pill and I am able to regulate myself more easily with marijuana.
