My name is Mariah. I have suffered from endometriosis since I first started my period when I was 11. When I was 16 the Dr recommended I take depo lupron to reverse the effects of endometriosis. The pain was intense, night sweat, hot flashes, so tired I ended up quiting school and getting my ged. After that I went to college and at 21 was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma stage three. I believe firmly the medicine has caused all the pain and suffering I have endured. The only thing that stopped it was a hysterectomy.

I got Lupron depot at the end of March due to severe cramping and heavy bleeding. I had the 3 month dose. I asked my doctor about the medication and its side effects and from I was told it seemed mild. I experiencing terrible side effects, the first month which was April was fine. A week into May everything changed! My blood pressure shot up 178/106 I rushed to the hospital to have test done to be told everything was fine and i needed blood pressure medication. I have been to the hospital emergency room 6 times for high blood pressure and feeling as if I were having a heart attack. I now have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I feel my heart racing all the time, it wakes me up at night. I cant focus feel dizzy and out of place. This medication needs to be taken of the market!

Dear Readers & commenters - I'm an investigative journalist looking into the effects of Lupron re: kids with precocious puberty, women undergoing IVF and egg donation, as well as women who had babies who were exposed to Lupron (e.g. used Lupron Depot for IVF or conceived while on Lupron). I'd love to hear from you. Please email me at cjewett@cironline.org, and I'll be in touch. My bio is here: https://www.revealnews.org/author/christina-jewett/

Since taking Lupron in August of 2013 I still experience hot flashes, and hair loss. I was also told I might experience hot flashes. I was not prepared for the hair loss, which still occurs, or the medicine induced depression that I suffered from this drug for almost 1.5 years after completing the drug therapy. To add insult to injury the drug did not do as promised and to make my endometriosis go dormant. I still suffer from pain every month.

Was prescribed two doses of Lupron for endometriosis nearly twelve years ago and have never been the same physically or mentally since. I now suffer with weight issues (after having been thin to underweight most of my life), memory loss (can't recall words--short-term), depression (mood swings), night sweats, bouts of extreme fatigue, and an autoimmune disease. I'm sure this is only the beginning of many more long term effects to come. If I had been made better aware of the potential side effects of this drug, I would have been able to make a better decision when given this drug as an option and have saved myself many long-term health issues. I feel that at the time this drug was highly misrepresented to me by my physician and the drug company themselves. I feel that others in a similar position as I found myself should be given all the information(good and bad) when presented with this drug as a medical option. For some, the risks may out way the benefits, but for me, if I had known, I would have chosen another alternative. At best, if not removed from the market, this drug should only be given as a last resort.

i am just now starting to connect symptoms that seem to have come out of nowhere to the 2, 3 month doses of Lupron that I revived following a myomectomy and endometriosis diagnosis. It's been about 18 months since my last shot and now I have severe heart burn, have gained 50lbs, severe night sweats, high blood pressure, very irregular menstraul cycles, being medicated for depression and being tested for an enlarged thyroid. Prior to this drug I was very healthy beyond the pain from endometriosis. Now I'm so exhausted and I feel like I can't think straight. I went the dr. Recently because I felt so bad and she told me I needed a psychiatrist. Then she checked my thyroid... I left her office with 4 prescriptions and an order for lab work and an ultrasound. My quality of life has been altered, I'm 39 and vibrancy of personality is gone. I'm sad everyday. I wasn't warned of these long term effects and Lupron didn't even help with the pain that I experience daily. If I had known more, I would have passed on this treatment. It was torture instead of helpful.

I just realized all my seemingly unrelated symptoms are the same symptoms other Lupron patients are experiencing. I took Lupron once a month for 6 months in 2001. Other than having endometriosis, I was healthy before Lupron. Immediately after taking Lupron and ever since, I have experienced the following: -Memory Loss (can't recall words, short term memory, etc) -Gained 60 pounds after being skinny all my life and can't lose it -Lost 2/3 thickness in my hair and have a bald spot in the front, top. Growing hair on my face and chin -Bones ache, especially lower back, hips, teeth, and left jaw. Sometimes my bones ache in my entire body. -Chronic Diarrhea. Started after taking Lupron. Has not gone away (15 years) -Raynaud's syndrome -Fatigue -Night sweats -petechial rash on my neck -Vitamin D and B12 deficiency -Tingly, itchy skin -Inflammation of the voice box, lower esophagus, and inside lining of my upper stomach. However, my middle esophagus is completely fine. No known cause. -Chronic Cough: This is the most debilitating. Without narcotics, I cough 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I can't eat, sleep, talk, work, I lose my voice, I throw out my neck which causes a migraine, I pull my muscles, and after 2 days I lay limp and lifeless unable to move. I nearly ruptured my stomach last year from coughing so violently. I just read Lupron causes interstitial lung disease. I'm getting tested for this soon. If this is the cause, then having taken Lupron 15 years ago will kill me within the next 5-20 years. Please take this drug off the market and tell me what I need to do to get better or at least live an adequate life.

I started to have bone pain in my arms and legs during my 6 month treatment 20 years ago. The bone pain has never subsided. I also got triple negative stage 2 breast cancer 5 years after lupron at the age of 35. I had more side effects from lupron than A/C chemo.

I feel like the doctor must have been paid to make their patients feel like this was their only choice for a already bad situation. I was told it would be temporary (menopause). I got one injection while being in the hospital August 2015 and it is now May 2016 and I still haven't got my period...I still have bad pain all over..have gained extra weight severe hot flashes where I'm drenched in sweat...my skin loos sooo terrible...my mental state at times I feel like I'm coming unglued. This was after just one injection ..I feel so sorry for the women that has had multiple injections if this medicin..at time I can't even get out of bed and go to work...so I feel like someone really need to do something...evidently something is wrong... ..

I have experienced excruciating back and hip pain, swelling ankles/feet, and never-ending hot flashes after taking 5 monthly injections of Lupron. I've been off of it for over 6 months with no relief, and it did nothing to help with the pain from my endometriosis. I wish I had trusted my own research on Lupron rather than trust my gynocologist.

I suspect I am having joint, teeth, and hip pain from using Lupron and Danazol. We need discloser on these drugs, before they ruin more women's lives. Shame on the FDA for putting profits ahead of human life.
