Someone from Houston, TX says it best: Someone in Congress, someone at the CDC, please tell us you're looking into this and what the next step will be. We are not kidding, we are not crazy, these bugs infesting us are real. The discomfort is all-consuming; we cannot ignore them as our lives deteriorate to a level of wretched existence we never could have imagined for ourselves. At this point in time, this is worse than cancer because with cancer a person is taken seriously and at least has a chance. Currently, there is NO CHANCE that we, thousands and growing thousands of us, can get relief from this scourge without 1) Recognition of this as a spreading (inter)national health crisis 2) Rapid development of an effective treatment 3) Availability of this (affordable) treatment to all affected individuals 4) Dissemination of public information to minimize spreading 5) Identification and mandatory treatment of infested public and commercial spaces -

First, why would ANYONE make this up? Especially for months & months-obvi- this is REAL. I consider my family of 4 a clean one; but these mites bear no prejudice to clean/unclean it would seem. My yard & vehicle are infected. Our lives are spent in near seclusion - cleaning/scrubbing ourselves/our floors/bedding/etc DAILY. . This seclusion is very depressing....my husband & I fight so much now. I will wash my walls my top to bottom, & each & every belonging- b4 this I would've thought compulsive (unless item(s) were soiled). Also, I want to mention that the soft/med woods in our home are being destroyed with nothing but a few - well what looks like hairs!!? Hanging from under the counters? This IS a MISERABLE existence to paraphrase. PLEAAAASE HELP.REPORT COMMENTS

Unfortunately Doctors read books while in school that told them that nothing can live on human bodies, the books actually list the real symptoms that you have as the symptoms a person with delusional parasites would have. This makes it really impossible to get the medical community behind this. I had bird mites and it was torture, nobody in my family believed me, yes I wanted to die, but thank God I did not do anything to make that happen. I no longer have mites, I know it is hard to believe but I did seek God and he healed me from every one of those monsters. This can be your story, what should I do you ask...just believe! There is no reason why these people should be ignored. There is no reason why scientists can't start looking into this epidemic more seriously. There is no reason why this subject can't be brought to the attention of the medical community. There is no reason why people should have to treat themselves with animal medications in hopes to get some kind of temporary relief. This is America. Why are we suffering with third world problems? We still have to work to pay taxes, to pay for food, medical expenses that keep rising, and housing that keeps rising. If the we want to lower rates of homelessness, the unemployed, and the sick, we can't ignore this problem any longer. It's seriously debilitating to have microscopic bugs crawling in and out of your ears, eyes, and nose on a constant basis. You can't possibly understand the horror unless you've actually experienced it. Hello everyone. I am now, along with my 2 exotics (breed the good ole' US), and my Akita, whom I have to put down due to this awful PANDEMIC. I called every endimdolgist in the country, I get same reply as everyone else. The weight loss is horrible they are in mouth, hands and wood. I researched spiders, due to the fact I started seeing them. (Out of the blue), Everyone please look up False Blk Widow, they carry spider mites, which in turn carry parasites. But no one "knows" anything about this horrific issue, if "21 or2030", yes, I know we need to do something about this. Just like Zika...hey listen, if it is contagious, everyone is going to get it, even them or a family member. Please, let's all focus on a pesticide. Bath salts, pepprmint, collide silver, keep them at bay. Enough to clean the house and start all over again. We will beat this. I URGE YOU TO WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMEN AND SEND TO WHITE HOUSE NOT LOCAL. Someone from Houston, I am way too chicken to step out into the light. My current approach is to look at my (hint) Whole Health profile to try to determine why I am susceptible to these monsters and why others, including my spouse, are not. I have/have had Lyme disease, which is known to alter the immune system, and parasites have recently been identified as a common Lyme coinfection. The immune system can also be impaired by other factors, including toxic exposures and foreign materials in the body. These bugs are everywhere in our environment, not just in your home and mine, so I think the key is to get our immune systems in shape and hopefully we will not be so vulnerable. The conventional medical community wants nothing to do with us, so all we have left is the holistic and Asian medical communities. There is a college of Asian Medicine in Houston that I will try next if necessary. Maybe we'll bump into each other at WalMart buying 91% alcohol or sulfur cream. Good luck.REPORT COMMENTS

I notice that the format here has been tightened up. It was more helpful and reassuring that we are not alone when we could read the previous comments and similarities between what we are suffering and others, and note some of the things that others have tried. My own spouse doesn't believe how much or even that I suffer from this at all, and I was waiting for the "right time" to sit them down and make them read some of these poignant posts from people who are not crazy, yet are routinely dismissed by the medical system and the organization that is supposed to provide our country's oversight on epidemics, the CDC. I also gave this link to my holistic doctor, who says she has 4 other patients like me, however she would need to be able to read previous posts to get a proper feeling for the extent and possible variants of this. I live in California and I too just had this hellish nightmare ruin my life. I am not insane, I am not delusional and I have absolutely no reason to decide to just make my (and my wonderful families life) a chaotic disaster. I can trace the start of this to an exact event. I was cleaning a fabric couch when I was "swarmed" with jumping bugs that I could t see but could feel them sting me (almost like a quick shock). I have small bite marks from this and they itch. By that evening it felt like my head was "alive" with crawling and biting and itching sensation. I couldn't sleep. I treated my hair with dog flea shampoo - didn't work. I treated myself for lice (although no evidence of lice). I called my exterminator who said we did not have fleas. NO ONE ELSE IN MY FAMILY IS BEING EFFECTED BY THIS AT ALL. I have been to three doctors who treated me for scabies and one actually treated me like I was psychotic and dismissed me without even listening to my full story. No one believes me (not even my family). Everyone treats me like I have simply gone insane. I am getting very depressed, feel totally hopeless and not being believed and constantly trying to "prove" this is real and I am not crazy is wearing me down. I am at a loss. I had a wonderful life and I feel it is gone forever....just like that. I spray my entire body, hair, bedding with 91% alcohol ALMOST ALL THE TIME. it has dried my skin and made it painfully sensitive but it seems to be the only way I can get relief. I also use tea tree oil. This is real. And I am terrified that not only is there not an answer or something to help me but I am not even believed and no one cares enough to even look into it.REPORT COMMENTS

These mites are in most motels and hotels. People are donating mite infested clothes, furniture, etc. to Goodwill an other non-profit organizations. This things are sent from satan himself!!! They are so small and seem to change their size, color, and completely burrow in anything fur, skin, carpet. I spoke to an epidemiologist who actually listened to me and said the best thing to do is if one can be caught is to put it in alcohol because that will preserve it since they dry up so quickly. I put some in a jar of alcohol and mailed to him yesterday. I pray he can identify it! I use Sulfur 8 ointment from wal mart on my skin and hair. Thats the only thing I have found to get them off. There are sites that others have been going through this like birdmite.org, dengarden.com. I've been looking for ways to get rid of them but nothing is working it makes it worst. I'm losing hope. I want to kill myself because I don't want to live like this. I'm dealing with this by myself with no support from my family. My brother chastised me, told its all in my mind and other hurtful things. Because he doesn't feel anything and don't understand it. Help me! For the last 3 and a half years now I (and my dog) have battled these things. This is a nightmare of all nightmares! I have made 14 visits to Doctors, 2 Dermatologists, and trips to urgent cares as this is not gone away. I have been to 3 veterinarians and one of those was a dermatologist. The medical community has disregarded my pleas for help and when I asked my Doctor to help me recommended somewhere where to go he wouldn't. He had is assistant tell me to "make a lot of calls." I gave him samples (they shrivel up so quickly) and he says they are just skin cells. Now my girlfriend and her dog have them and she is terrified of not being able to see her grand-kids. When attending my daughters wedding back in Minnesota my other daughter did not want me to stay in her house. I was afraid to do a father daughter dance at that wedding and have another wedding in next April. This has cost me thousands and I may lose my relationship because of this. Someone has to listen to our pleas for help but so far nobody has. I have a newfound dislike for the medical profession. You would too when they look at you like your crazy...REPORT COMMENTS

I have just about lost my marriage, family and friends over this. I was taken in by law enforcement enforcement for a psychiatric evaluation yesterday. I have been married 3 decades and have college education. I am at my wits end. I have lost a child and a grandchild and can say this is just as depressing and dibilitating. I am unsure what it is, but frightened at the thought of a reoccurance if I should ever rid myself, my dog and home of this horror. It seems these things are resistant, smart and plenty. I could see this as a global health problem and quickly escalate if not seen about seriously and fastidiously.
