The US endorsing the Declaration must do so without restrictions, limitations, or qualifications that would constrain the Declaration to U.S. law -- this is an international human rights instrument, not U.S. domestic policy.Nov 28th, 2010Someone from Riverside, CA signed.

Mr. Obama, Please be mindful that the United States endorsement of the Declaration must done without restrictions, limitations, or qualifications that would constrain the Declaration to U.S. law -- this is an international human rights instrument, not U.S. domestic policy. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

To the Honorable President Obama, Dear Mr. President, it is long long overdue for the U.S. to endorse the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. This human rights instrument has been developed and vetted for over 30 years and it will be a positive reflection on the U.S.A, on your administration, and on you personally, to be the visionary leader so many of us believed you were by endorsing this declaration. And, to do so, without restrictions, limitations or qualifications that would constrain it to U.S. domestic policy or aspects of U.S. law, in regard to Indigenous Peoples and specifically, American Indians, here in the U.S. It's time to recognize and acknowledge that Native Peoples are here, that we have human rights, and that the U.S. will honorably express this by endorsing AND implementing - through work in alignment with Indigenous Peoples and Nations, the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. thank you, Tia OrosREPORT COMMENTS

Until we realize that American democracy was created from our consumption of Indian blood and land, we will perpetuate the cycle that will ultimately devour the entire planet--all in the guise of 'freedom.' The time is past due to acknowledge the rights of Indigenous Peoples. There is a reason their voice has been silenced. True democracy must include the 'rights' of the land which sustains us all.REPORT COMMENTS
