And the wheels turn around and around, circles within circles....... Never ending. Ah, to be Native Born (I am !) and to feel the painship of well over 500 years of generations passing away by the tip of a pen, where so called people in power rewrite history, Eastern woodland history. Therefore within my opinion, they (Federal Goverbnment) should give us, our full rights to be as we where born to be, free, to live our ways.......... Without their broken promises. Awansgi. Wado I am, Crazysun of the Earth People

A nation that does not reconcile with its past, risks its future. The Indigenous Peoples, world-wide, are being attacked again by the same amoral consciousness that "settled" the "New World".

I agree that this is a long overdue call to address historical trauma of all us indigenous nations. Mutual respect and cooperation should be the norm in 21st Century if all the planet is to thrive and survive.

Wow....well so far what a mess with the US concerning Indigenous People.....But what can we do? It is my understanding that the Hopi just made a water deal and coal deal with the gov. giving the Gov the right to explore and dig around underground storing CO2 and looking for gas in the beautiful canyons out at Hopi....This information came from a Hopi the the tribe.... gov sold their rights for 500 million and this is complete truth and information STRAIGHT FROM HOPI SO how can anyone help if the tribes turn around and sell out???????????

I strongly recommend that the United States adopt the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. The US is the only major country not to have adopted the Declaration, and we must continue to demonstrate that we are a forward thinking country and endorse the Declaration without restrictions, limitations, or qualifications.

‎I highly recommend you emphasize that the US endorsing the Declaration must do so without restrictions, limitations, or qualifications that would constrain the Declaration to U.S. law -- this is an international human rights instrument, not U.S. domestic policy.

This is long overdue and necessary to heal the historical trauma inflicted on the indigenous people of North America. It will also help all of us move towards a positive future.
