Let's catch up U.S.A and express our rejection of the Doctrine of Discovery. The land was governed, peopled, and blessed long before colonists arrived. Let us work to nourish and preserve what is left of such cultures here and around the world.

When then-Senator Barack Obama campaigned for the Office of President of the United States, he called upon the citizens of this Nation to be part of the needed Change he pledged to bring to our Political life... It is time that "We, the People" picked up our obligation -- to our fellows, to our Nation, and to our Planet -- to demand that this Nation "walk its talk" and protect the rights of ALL its people.

It is time for the United States to admit and recognize that the Indigenous People of the America's must be recognized as people who are equal to all others and bestowed upon them the rights declared in the Treaty of Hidalgo. Also, all subsequent treaties should be re-ratified and honored. An apology would also be appropriate for the policy that divided and conquered the indigenous. It is time to sign to UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples". We are suppose to be a free society, but it still does not apply to people of color in our own country. The only laws that should govern all of humanity, is that of preserving and protecting the giver of Life, Mother Earth and her four elements; Land, Water, Air and Sun. If we don't show reverence and begin correcting the destruction of colonization, those that destroy will be destroyed...it is prophecy and it is here, Mother Earth is showing us that she alone who can bring balance to this planet in accordance with the natural way.

America's refusal to sign the Declaration (and many other human rights, environmental, and international law agreements)is shameful and hypocritical and sends a message that the USA is a racially discriminatory state. Congress has the opportunity to right and prevent wrongs committed against Indigenous peoples here and in other countries or, in being the last holdouts, shine a spotlight on our injustices and abuses, our greed and bigotry. Please do not fail to improve on our dismal record.

We disgrace ourselves as a country in not ratifying this declaration. We must uphold the rights of all people. We must also fight against the Doctrine of Discovery, which continues to harm Indigenous Peoples.
