I have the honor and privledge of working and training with our men and women in uniform. Anything that will help bring them "home" and back to their families is something I support. We must NEVER forget their sacrifice and that of their families.REPORT COMMENTS

I have personal experience with what happens when the military dumps veterans into American society without doing anything for their PTSD. The individual vet, his family and friends, state and local governments, and nonprofit organizations all pay the social cost of having to deal with the suffering.REPORT COMMENTS

I have seen first hand the issues soldiers face when having PTSD. Its is a very serious and devastating thing. The military should automatically prepare soldiers for ALL things these men and women might face, including PTSD. I have seen soldiers just back from war have very serious problems in getting back to normal life, not be able to deal with public situations or even close family members, and then turn around and lie to the people who debrief them and tell them they are fine, when they know they aren't, Just so they can home faster. These are the people to end up using a negative coping method, such as drugs alcohol, or even suicide. It is not fair to them or their families. When they make the choice to serve our country, then our country should look after them.REPORT COMMENTS

This program will be very beneficial to all members of the military. We are sending young soldiers to dangerous places. They have not lived long enough to comprehend the horrible things they are exposed to. Please put this into policy immediately. Thank you A Soldier's MomREPORT COMMENTS

The United States should take whatever steps are necessary to assist our veterans in returning to civilian life. These men and women have sacrificed so much to protect the freedoms that we all enjoy in this great nation.REPORT COMMENTS

I served in the Navy for 10 wonderful years and our troops don't get the support it needs from the civilian sector. Civilians need more awareness of what our troops do for them. Freedom isn't freeREPORT COMMENTS

My fiance and I are both Marines. He suffers from severe PTSD and was never treated. After much debate, I was finally able to convince him he needed help. Thank you for addressing what most don't want to face. No matter what our veterans say, they DO NEED HELP.REPORT COMMENTS

My husband was in Vietnam from 72-75 and have suffered with PTSD ever since his return. He suffers from depression and constantly has nightmares of war, killing people almost on a nightly basis. I am so glad this is being brought out now as all Vets need and deserve this care and attention.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a VERY good idea. But i would go one-step further and attempt to recognize the risk of developing PTSD in men & women Recruits (or Draftees if it returns). We have Physicals for military Recruits (and Draftees when it existed). But they focus entirely on physical condition, not mental capacity.REPORT COMMENTS
