So, child molesterers and rapists are given multiple chances, but a pit bull jumps up and scratches someone's belly a little and the dog gets put down? Every time I read about the courts taking control of the matter, with a pit bull involved, they tend to shotgun the process as fast as possible and put the dog down before the owners and supporters get a chance to make an argument. I'd bet my paycheck that no pit bull owner has ever been an official part of the destruction of another pitbull in these cases. Again, my paycheck, I would bet the officials involved were dog snobs or non-dog people. There's so much to love and learn about the APBT or AmStaff breeds. To not do so before approving another one be put down is close-minded, inhumane, lazy, and altogether... un-American. Be mindful of what you do with these dogs and their plight. Someday, someone or something you love may be on the chopping block. History is the ultimate judgment of man. Be on the right side of the story.REPORT COMMENTS

BSL is the beginning of a slippery slope that ends as it did for Lennox in Belfast and Wicca in Montreal. It is a dangerous path to start down, and I implore our lawmakers to recognize that it is a measure taken out of fear and misinformation, not public interest. Please take the time to learn more about the breeds that are being affected and you will find that these extreme measures are both unwarranted and inhumane. We look to you to have the courage to learn more about the ramifications of BSL, educate your colleagues and continue to be the leaders that we look to to make the difficult decisions that safeguard our rights and interests.
